I could also really relate to her feelings of wanting to hide or downplay who she is now . Middle age brought a paralyzing disease followed by many surgeries, and I feel like I moved to a distant planet.

We really have to embrace who we really are today (not who we were) and accept it.
Her husband's response is everything......she is absolutely beaming now! The fact that she feels beautiful is an invaluable gift at any age!

GASP!!! She is so comfortable in her new skin and look. I love that she acknowledged Robert greeting her and making her feel at home. And how funny that Joanne was "disappointed" in her until they fitted her with a truly comfortable bra. Her husband, Joe, is a gem and of course, Christopher and Kayla are the geniuses who make this magic happen. BRAVISSIMO!

Thank you for watching Donna. Don't give up! Keep fighting and remember when you can look better you will feel better. I, too, have arthritis and replaced knees, hips and shoulders. It's easier to sit in my favorite chair and let the rest of the world go by...but we have to keep truckin' until we absolutely can't. Best wishes and a prayer.

This one brought me to tears. I’m 58 years old and I’m totally invisible in a company of now young people. I used to be someone.
I had Graves undiagnosed for 10 years back in the late 80's - 1996. It's a horrible disease that eats your soul. It does things physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritualy that most of us will never speak of. I'm so happy for her. She's a beautiful person, and now her updated looks match her personality!

She looks GREAT, and her husband is such a sweetheart! My ex daughter in law was diagnosed with Graves Disease as a very young woman of 28. She also had to have her thyroid gland removed. If you don't realize how much your thyroid gland contributes to good/normal health, you'd be blown away! The removal of the gland is another issue altogether, because once it's removed, you then have to begin a daily regimen of medication that sometimes, oftentimes, has to be adjusted and even changed in order to maintain the feeling of being normal and healthy. When I say you have to, I mean just that. You HAVE TO! Otherwise, you'll die. That tiny little butterfly shaped gland which is located in the throat, is something you can't live without. I remember the changes she went through during that time. It was awful. She was trying hard, you could tell, but it was like trying to climb a steep hill wearing concrete boots! At least that's how she described it.
It took her nearly two years to come back. Unfortunately, my son is not the most understanding man and the marriage was pretty much over. I might also add that this lady explained perfectly well how Graves affects your appearance. The lack of energy is one of the biggest factors. And that eye bulge is a massive culprit! My daughter in law said she felt like a toad!
This lady has been a real advocate for never giving up, because help is there! She is so blessed too, to have a loving and supportive partner. But if anybody else thought of her as invisible, LOOK OUT!! LOL!! I mean, look at this gorgeous lady! She's really hot! But I'm here to tell you all, she's very courageous! You'd have to be, just to fight back on this very debilitating illness. And that courage and determination makes her always beautiful! Yes, she lost sight of herself for a moment, but she's back now! She is back!
Oh yes! Big shout out to the team who gave her back her vitality! They're great, but it's never about them. They're the unsung heroes of each of these stories;. Thanks everyone, for all that you give!

I completely understand! I became so sick I had to resign from my job I kept going to the doctor and going to a different doctor and going to another doctor nobody could figure out what was wrong with me next thing I know I put on 60 pounds within a few months finally my gynecologist tested my thyroid she couldn’t believe my numbers I had gone a year and a half before being diagnosed I could barely walk! I ran into friends as well nobody knew who I was! I felt shame! the weight loss has been extremely slow but I’m getting there! It’s like I have to watch every crumb every gram of sugar or I stall out 😢I drink water and focus on protein and vegetables plus consistent exercise but if I exercise too much it makes me sick again so I have to be very careful thyroid disease is the worst disease on the planet

That is so amazing! My mom and I lived together for 25 years and she recently passed. I didn’t realize how much of myself went with her. And the problem with that is...
She went from non-de-script, frumpy, no one would notice to beautiful and five years younger looking. The person from work who did not recognize her outside of the work environment will not recognize her inside the work environment because she is so beautiful. Now when she walks down the street with her husband guys will think, "Look at that lucky man with such a beautiful wife."

At the beginning I can see she's already very beautiful, she's just a bit tired and lost regarding her self expression. The good news is that she knows who she's inside, the desire to bring it to life is also there, I'm pretty sure she'll keep this.
