I always loved John’s visits with Dave. So funny, and clearly a great friendship and rapport between the two.

Dave was The Godfather to Witherspoons Son. Dave was also his John’s best man at his wedding.

I read John was Harry's godfather so I'll have to research that again.
I’ve heard that they were like brothers, and I wish that Dave would share some of those personal stories.
I believe in 1987 John was on. After the set, he showed his recent wedding pictures.
I know they went all the way back to the Comedy Store days together.
I always laugh remembering when he says he is a 'multi-thousandaire'!! LOL
Dave was so loyal to the comedians who came up as the same time as him. Jimmie Walker, Tom Dreesen, George Wallace and John Witherspoon all got to perform on Dave’s show, in front of millions of people. Thank you Dave!

He was hilarious on a Thabksgiving scene in the Eddie Murphy movie Boomarang. It's what he was most well known for by most casual audiences at the time
