I saw John Witherspoon at the Ybor City improv. He went on for hours. He seemed to run out of gas towards the end and it was like he was having a funny conversation with people in the audience while the rest of us watched. He talked about Ice Cube helping his retirement with all those fridays movies. It seemed like he really did not want to end it and it was thoroughly enjoyable. He was a great performer. I loved that guy!
Never met this man but he truly brought a lot of joy to me and my family during my childhood he was hilarious! I loved him on The Boondocks and the Friday's of course
His story is funny asf. Short Detroit factory goes to New York to become a fashion model, gets clowned, backpacks across the country to become a comedy legend. Incredible guy, incredible story, funny as hell lol

Short lived, but has some of the earliest John Witherspoon Ive ever seen. If I remember right, Robin Williams too.
