    *They ALL leak bar oil. Chainsaws, pole saws, everything with a bar and chain oiler is going to leak. Put down cardboard underneath the head is what I do......

    Bar oil leaking... Try this...
    Lay the saw on it's side with the bar off of the ground and pop the top to burp it.
    Obviously it can't be full when doing this.
    Your trying to get the oil to drain out of the oiler and back into the tank, while leaving an air pocket.
    You may have to let it set like this overnight.
    Then put the cap on it, or burp it.
    I have had some luck doing this with my saws... But naturally, saws are filled while laying on their side.
    Anyway, you get the idea.
    Best to try doing this right after your done using the saw.
    Seems to work most of the time on my saws, which I store in my basement.

    It would of been nice to see the wear on the sprocket as a means test for future reference.

    Thank you - my chain stopped spinning and I thought I had a major problem with the gearbox or shaft, not so, just the sprocket with it's clutch mechanism - also my chain oil leaks when not in use, a design flaw I think. cheers

    My stihl kombi pole saw leaks oil also if I store it with bar oil in the tank so I just empty the bar oil tank into a plastic jar with a lid on it anytime I store the saw and have no problems. I use new 5W 30 synthetic engine oil as bar oil in mine and it works great.

      Must be a common problem. I started storing mine dry as well.

    Nice instructional video. One of these days I need to buy a pole saw for trimming branches

    Good vid, thanks. You used the grey silicone sealant, was it Permatex Ultra-Grey? If so this is very strong sealant for high torque / high vibration environments application, but it is a real bear to remove! Permatex makes an Ultra Black sealant that is specifically to seal flanges against oil and grease and it is relatively easy to remove - compared to Ultra Grey.

      Thanks. I just used grey because that’s what I had.

    Great video!! Quick question on the sprocket replacement. I was using my pole saw today, and the chain stopped spinning. I took it apart, and took the sprocket off. When you reassemble the sprocket, how tight to you tighten the torx screw? I don't remember how tight it was when I took it off - but when I was reinstalling, I was assuming it would go on tight enough to fully seat with the last washer. However, the screw is too long to do that (and I do have the flat sided washer, the sprocket, and other flat sided washer and then the 3 washers installed).

      I just tightened it as tight as I could get it by hand with the torx wrench I was using in the video.

      Did you remove any other screws besides the sprocket screw? If so, Any chance you might have used the wrong screw for the sprocket?

      @@4MRanch Thank you for your quick response! I ended up taking everything apart except the gear box. There must have been dirt or something in the hole where the torx is screwed into because after I cleaned everything, I was able to fully seat the torx and the saw is running great. I took down 3 tree limbs to test and all is well.. Thanks again for the informative video.

    I am using this on a 25cc Craftsman weedeater that takes universal attachments🌀 allabout.wiki/Sun-Joe? The-setup-was-slightly-annoying-because it was overly difficult to get the chain on the bar/gear. I read some reviews talking about this thing leaking a lot of bar oil, but it honestly does not leak any more than my 3 other full size real saws. Once set up this things been pretty awesome. I moved to a very overgrown property in southern Missouri and this thing has been a huge help with getting stuff cleaned up. My first test cut was on a low hanging walnut tree branch about 5" in diameter and it cut through like butter. I have so far successfully brought down walnut, oak, locust thorn and those cigar tree branches (whatever they're called) up to 7 or 8 inches in diameter with no issue.....other random brush is gone in seconds. Pop the cover every once in a while to check for debris and make sure to tighten the fresh chain every so often as they tend to stretch a bit. Only time I've bogged down while cutting is when i forgot to open the choke on my power head after getting started lol. I've used this quite a few times now since receiving and have had no problems. I can easily recommend this product to anyone needing a cost effective tool for trimming trees or even basic saw tasks around a home/property. Worth every penny so far.

    Can you explain to me how oil is supposed to get to the bar aand chain when that thin plate covers the oil hole on the bar? When i run my pole saw, the oil just drip out from underneath as opposed to flinging off the chain like it does on a chainsaw.

    • @4MRanch
      @4MRanch  4 года назад

      I’m not sure mine doesn’t do that.

      Havent you noticed that the plate blocks/covers the oiler hole?

    • @4MRanch
      @4MRanch  4 года назад

      The oil doesn’t come out there that hole is a vent. The oil comes out Of the big silver hole behind the tension screw and I delivered to the chain through the little channel on the orange cover

    • @4MRanch

      Debris can block that hole sometimes and cause it to drip so check it and make sure you clean the channel on the orange cover. Mine only leaks out the bottom when stores oil gets pushed out the vent behind the cover plate so I store it empty.
