You had me when you said that osteo-arthritis is so much more complex than just "wear and tear"! And also much more complex than being simply due to "muscle imbalance". My take: it is primarily an inflammatory condition. And yes, exercise can still be extremely helpful. I've been doing a variant of that knee joint lubrication exercise first thing, for about 2 years now, and it really does help. My chosen form of aerobic exercise has been rebounding on a mini-trampoline, because this is low impact for my poor knees and hips and one of the few things I have been able to do since I had to give up running. Having something I can do easily at home has been important for keeping on with it. And I always do feel better after a session! Now I'm going to add some of those other exercises... I know I should also be doing some squats and glute bridges, but now I will make sure to include them in my regular daily practice.
Shrey you are excellent no extra explanation straight to the point very important exercises for everyone to garther knowledge of relieving pain we look forward to gaining greater knowledge
I'm 74 and recovering from a knee injury. I'm going to do these at a slow pace and see how it goes. I've always felt that my left knee is weak and I fell on it 2 yrs. ago and recovered but 3 months ago I injured it from just walking and working too much...smh!!! These exercises are the best I've found to begin getting stronger. Thanks so much for this video! I will report back in a month to let you know how it's going. 😃
Oh dear it’s been 2 months already. Sorry that I didn’t reply. I’m very embarrassed that I haven’t even started the exercises. I’m going to do them. I’ve been riding a stationary bike but I have not felt improvement from that so far
Your explanation and detail is amazing, is great to see someone providing valuable health improvement techniques without trying to sell you merchandise, also is refreshing to be able to hear your voice without all kinds of music and background disturbance. Thank you very much!
I have had knee issues for many years and was just diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both knees at 56. This video is the best one I have seen so far to start the road to recovery. Thank you so much. Will give this a try. 😊❤

I’m 69 and just today joined a gym with the purpose of gaining strength, flexibility and balance to help my golf game. Any specific videos you made pertain to this? This past season my lower left back was injured which kept me off the course for three weeks.
I know yoga is not often considered an aerobic exercise but in my experience it most certainly is. With the exception of a purely Restorative or tin class, you will typically work up a sweat for at least a portion of the class. Plus these postures and movements have been proven to give strength and vitality and long life. Tbere are many extremely agile yogis in their lateer years. I am currently doing a teacher training in Ashtanga yoga with a totally severed ACL and very compromised meniscus and it is doing wonders ❤️ thx for this video, very helpful to supplement.
To be honest, I'm a HUGE supporter of yoga for many different reasons. so I'm glad you brought it up! Research shows that it can improve your strength, flexibility, balance etc. But I would love to do some extra research on the aerobic aspect of yoga. Will keep you posted if I see anything! Thanks for sharing, and all the best in your recovery/rehab of your knee + teacher training!
Two rounds of shock wave therapy for bursitis, gave me a 75% improvement in my mobility and reduced my limping by 90%. Other than mild arthritis, my left hip is fine, but how can I strengthen it and get back to 100%. Thank you.
Hi. Can we reverse osteo arthritis by doing exercise? Can we climp up stairs as like other people and sit in floor by squating and get easily. Please respond.
Hello! I was wondering if you had any suggestions for me. I had a stroke which affected my left leg. What is your opinion on which particular exercises I can do that will give me strength to move the leg? I can walk but have to use a walker. Thanks in advance.
Very well explained.. shl try sme as i am experiencing crackng sound in my knee while walking. Any nuts or oil u cld sugst or only exercise pls .. kashi
I am a 73 yo male. I suffered a medial meniscus root tear with extrusion a year ago. I have full ROM but have back of the knee pain when standing but goes away when walking. The knee support helps with pain. Can you help me to reduce the back of the knee pain. Thanks
If thickening synovial fluid is what is causing joint stiffness overnight, what would be the cause after shorter inactivity, such as sitting for even short periods of time (15-30 min)? I experience only a little less stiffness after such a short time, and it takes only a little bit less time to "walk it out."
I swim four times a week 40-45 mins. I have considered and tried other type of exercises but for the most part I don't feel the results or are ineffective. My right knee has not been able to sustain me stepping up or down for years now and I've given up on rehabilitation. I would love it if I can change that.
Thank you so much. Very well explained. Please make for back arthritis pain relief excercises. Combined joint excercises for women during menopause, there is a lot of pain, muscle and joint pain. 30 to 40 minutes for full body.
Im from india i hv osteoarthritis of knees since 3 mths im 70+ n diabetic i follow my home visit physiotherapist n she says each exercises shud b progressed now after 2 wks she told me to start 1 kg wgts on my ankle..there r some injectables like hyaluronic gel is it advisable to inject n will i b able to walk better
Mr, Shrey, I am 87 years old and suffered a right leg foot drop following a Lumbar [L4-L5 surgery after a motor car accident. And during the Pandemic Lockdown in 2020, I fell down a few falls, one time I hurt my right shoulder and hip so bad that I suffered muscle atrophy [loss of strength and muscle] . I find squating [Asian Squat] exercise so difficult to perform as my right knee caused by the foot drop is weak. That said can you give me your professional advice how to overcome my weakness.
Really good stuff except for the max HR formula. It’s pretty common knowledge that it only works for younger folks, if at all. I’m 70. My max HR is closer to 190.
Good question! I assume it would help, but I'm not entirely sure what the current research says about backward walking. I'd love to check that out! Thanks for your question
