I know Doc wanted the machine destroyed, but it breaks my heart every time I see it get destroyed.
The fact that a car getting unceremoniously annihilated by a freight train carries the same emotional weight as a beloved character getting killed off speaks volumes to how incredible this whole trilogy is.
This movie is my least favorite of the trilogy, but this is my absolute favorite scene. My heart shatters every time I hear Marty say "It's destroyed...just like you wanted."
This should count as one of the saddest movie deaths in history
Considering the Back to the Future movie series ended with Part 3, it made perfect sense as to why the DeLorean was destroyed. By this point, it was an aging, 70 year-old time-traveling sports car that lost the ability to drive under its own power. Plus, Doc figured that it caused enough damage to the space-time continuum and didn't want a repeat of what 2015 Biff did in Part 2.
It's okay Marty, Doc will completely go back on what he said and create another time machine.
This scene went from hilarious, to terrifying, to heartbreaking in less than one minute. Absolutely fantastic acting from Michael J Fox.
The train just smashed through a car and keeps going. Must have a tight schedule to uphold.
I love the ironic of the fact that moments after they were saved by a train of the past the car was immediately destroyed by a train of the present
His face when he sees the real train coming

Once the Time Circuit and Flux Capacitor shut down at
Fun fact, in real life, the famous gull-wing doors of the DeLorean were notorious for getting stuck. Apparently it was a problem with the locking mechanism engaging when it wasn't supposed to.
As the time circuits were flashing at
Y'know basically since the time machine is destroyed, a part of Doc is also destroyed. This Time Machine was his life's work and to see it being destroyed is like killing a part of Doc since A.) He made it and B.) It was a way to time travel and to possibly visit Doc.

Never really thought of it before now, but this is really the only time the general public see the time machine and take notice of it. I know it's visible in 2015 Hill Valley, but it just blends in with all the other future cars.
Heartbreaking and tears. You just feel your whole life crumble.
Saddest scene in the trilogy
I love how the ravine changes to Eastwood ravine. After being called Clinton ravine
