FILM DESCRIPTION:
In this 1980s sci-fi classic, small-town California teen Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is thrown back into the '50s when an experiment by his eccentric scientist friend Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) goes awry. Traveling through time in a modified DeLorean car, Marty encounters young versions of his parents (Crispin Glover, Lea Thompson), and must make sure that they fall in love or he'll cease to exist. Even more dauntingly, Marty has to return to his own time and save the life of Doc Brown.

This is a true testament to the DeLorean’s performance, trying to get away from a VW bus
Yea, 130 bhp wasn't a lot, plus all this weight made the cat even heavier, during production they complained how underpowered it was all the time
130 BHP from a 2.8 V6 and in a very heavy steel body. Plus all the weight added by docs time machine stuff
In the movie, it sounds like a V8 hybrid.
@@aspecreviews they actually used the sound from the twin turbo version of the PRV V6 which was going to be put in the DeLoreans but it was too late because the company was already on the verge of bankruptcy.
@@HyperVegitoDBZ maybe in the back to the future universe, the DeLorean had a more powerful engine.
Per Doc's keys it shows the DeLorean is not only his time machine, but is his personal ride too.
@@plowe6751 when Marty closed the driver's side door when the Libyans were fighting a gun jam and a stalled minibus. Per one of the comics, Doc did buy the DeLorean used.
I met Christopher Lloyd at a comic-con in Pittsburgh in 2022 and a model of the time machine was there also. I got to sit in it, their was only one way to describe it, small. Very very very small. It's amazing they were able to fit 3 people let alone 2 in it. Still a dream come true nearly 30 years in the making.
@CaptinBen10 unmodified, it's not that cramped. I'm 6'3 309 and I fit decent in my 83' DeLorean. It's definitely not Fiero/MR2 cramped and i fit in them. I was 360-370 when I bought my DeLorean in 2003. Learned to drive in my mom's 78' 280Z and later her 280ZX. I've always been big, was 16-17 and still growing then, I'm 44 now. She still has her 280ZX, 21 years and counting for my DeLorean.
The 80s had some great orchestral sound tracks like this. As well as Star Trek, Close Encounters, Galactica, ET. I had a few of those vinyls.
I always loved how Marty was so intent on trying to escape the Libyans that he failed to realize that the time circuits were on until it was too late.
Well he had bigger problems on his mind at that time.
0:35 So Marty never had any intention of going back in time. While Marty was changing gears of the car, he accidentally turned on the time circuits (which he failed to notice).
Yeah
Of course, there's a whole section where he is very surprised that he's actually in 1955
I would disagree on that though. When he was driving towards the newspaper booth (or whatever it was) he didn’t slow down. Maybe he knew he did it but didn’t care? Who knows
@@DanielScherer7 Marty was just trying to get away from the Libyan terrorists, Marty had no intention of going back in time, he had no intention of traveling through time…period. If Marty was planning to time travel, then shouldn’t he have, tried to, input a time destination on the key pad?
@paulyont3092 Only BTTF 3 has that honor. First and only time Marty traveled back in time deliberately to 1885 to save Doc and not trying to go back to 1985 as a result of an accident like we see here. This was the second time the gearshift turned the time circuits on. Marty does it here escaping the Libyans. Doc did it in BTTF 2 with the malfunctioning Destination Time display. In the game, which, as far as I'm concerned and many fans are concerned, is BTTF 4, 5 and 6 at minimum Doc should have relocated the time circuit switch to maybe a button on the dash. I probably would have instead of a Temporal Duplicate but a close to brand-new DeLorean named "OUTATIME-A" akin to the return of the Enterprise in Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home. The original NCC-1701 was gone but her spirit found her way to the new hull: NCC-1701-A. The same could be done for the DeLorean, augmenting the Train as well. Looks the same outside but subtle improvements.
That's the first moment we hear the full BTTF theme 1:28 It never, ever, ever gets old.
Nope! Never does!!! I listen to it on the way to and from work.
I thank my parents for introducing me to and recommending me this trilogy back when I was fascinated with time travel as a kid.
0:13 "Damn Soviet gun!"
Must have been a cheap knockoff.
Egyptian made
Or never cleaned oiled too care of!
Or they could've been using cheap ammo. Given it still clicked when he pulled the trigger, the bullet in the chamber misfired.
Any maybe a hangfire would've happened when he pointed the so downwards where his driver was!
Chinese Knockoffs (Known as Raykays, and Egyptian knockoffs 54K's) have jamming and stovepiping issues, commonly they used a cheaper kind of steel prone to expansion so the bolt would get stuck in battery if it got to hot. or would fail to eject a casing. what the terrorist did not do was grab the charging handle and then slam the butt of the gun down on the roof to force the bolt out of battery (a common fix for even a proper AK47 Jam) but well... They were trying to tell the story that Libyan military is a bunch of incompetent buffoons.... to which their not too far off. so ill give them a pass. (Besides its plot armor for Marty)
The first movie of this trilogy is the best one.
I like the third one the most :)

Still my favorite car chase scene.
Can’t lie same 😂🎉
1:54 I think my friends have been doing this ride the roller coaster!
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder what Marty would have done if the time machine didn't work. He would have crashed into the photo booth, but what would happen next? What was his plan?
Probably trying to get it working again?
thank you very much thank you very very much for uploading my favorite scene of back to the future from 1985
Doc was dead, after the Libyans shot him. Marty went back to 1955 and wrote Doc a letter that warned him that he was going to be shot by terrorists. Doc wore a bullet proof vest, the second time life, so Marty was responsible for saving Doc’s life. This is such an amazing sub-plot for the movie.
The ak that doesn’t work and the Volkswagen that won’t start are probably the most unrealistic things in this scene.
I dont know, I feel like the VW is pretty spot on. Agreed on the AK though
Thing is if its a cheap Cairo knockoff (Known as a 54K) it used a cheaper steel prone to expansion so the bolt would get stuck in battery, or would cause feeding and chambering issues. both Raykays (chinese knockoffs) and 54K's suffer from this issue. And well they were trying to portray the Libyan terrorists as incompetent idiots.... Hilariously that joke surprisingly aged well.
Also the fact the delorean is struggling to outrun the van
No, the creators of the movie came forward and said that the reason why it was barely outrunning the Volkswagen van was because of the equipment on the back of the DeLeorn connected to the Flux capacitor that it was slowing down.
The best movie of all time from Robert Zemeckis
1:51 that scarecrow not only scares crows, but also people too
I think this is the best movie by far and it is 39YEARS OLD which makes it even better
I just recently watched it. So well done. It's a true classic.
It’s awesome that’s there’s even sparks when the gunman shoots the ground
One of my favorite books to read! God Bless America!!
I always love these chase scenes 😂keeps me out of depression
The ref said
_- remember bro 88mph. 🗣️see you in the future muh boyeee
i feel like marty in this scene for the past few years !
Also just something ive thought about, when the other Marty left for 1955 at the end, we don't see it but he would've driven over the pine tree, obviously Marty did this first time to make it Twin Pines Mall but that must've meant that... there was no tree for the other Marty to run over in 1955.🤔
Of course there is a tree the tree die in 1955 but before it was here
0:09 The Libyan reaction when his AKM jamming 😂😂😂😂😂
If I could hit 90 mph, I would relive the early 1990s
1955 Always back good idea
00:10 Eric Stoltz 👈
They probably used him for double role
0:25 The chase is on! This might be the best score and scene in the movie
Fantastic Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, and Robert Zemeckis Back to the Future trilogy movie ever. One of my top five favorite movies of 1985 (like The Breakfast Club, The Goonies, Terry Gilliam's Brazil, and Out of Africa for instance), along with Michael J. Fox (like Casualties of War, The Frighteners, the first Stuart Little film, and TV's Spin City for instance), Christopher Lloyd (like Who framed Roger Rabbit? also directed by Robert Zemeckis, Nobody, Clue, and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock for instance), and Robert Zemeckis (like Forrest Gump, The Walk, and Cast Away for instance). Also, the 88 miles per hour and time travel back to 1955 right after Michael J. Fox escapes from the Libyans are two of my favorite scenes in the first Back to the Future film. Also, I would recommend The Meteor Man with Robert Townsend if you can upload it, along with City of Joy with Patrick Swayze, Radio Flyer with Elijah Wood, Mr. Saturday Night with Billy Crystal, Hexed (1993), and those two Wesley Snipes films (like Boiling Point with Dennis Hopper, and Murder at 1600 with Diane Lane for instance).
Great
I ❤️ this movie
1:51 scarecrow scare
If thats not bad enough
1:54 crash into a barn
Man Marty can't catch a break and also hahaha he got scare by a scarecrow
Lol love his scream at the scarecrow
Back to the future and back to the future 2 are the best in my opinion 😊
0:59 guy was shooting at the same spot for one entire second while the car was moving
It looked like he was firing like that out of frustration.
Trivia Tid Bit - DISTANCE shots in this scene shoiw ERIC STOLTZ not Michael J. Fox driving the delorean.
Haha this was the first ever vid I ever saw from BTF😂

WAYBACK OF 007
Question for everyone if you had a time machine were would you go back to and why?
I chose to keep my reason to myself thanks
1:50 AAAAH! 1:53 AAAAH!!!!
Doc was so invested on getting the time circuits and all the bells and whistles he never invested the time in the actual car cause I swear the stalling issues was frustrating. Im not a car guy but I would've at least made sure the car was working properly if my intent was to travel in time periods that dont have modern care for cars. I mean the whole problem with part 3 was the fact that they couldnt even get gas for the car to have it reach 88 mph.
❤
What was Marty actually planning on doing? Because the rhetorical of whether they could do 90 or not sets the assumption that he forgot what happens once he reaches 88, but then he was going to drive into the stand if it wasn't a time machine anyway. And why did the Libyan van crash into the booth when they could have seen it and either way would have crashed regardless of whether Marty time travelled or not.
Based on Marty's face (he doesn't look too surprised to see the DeLorean shooting out blue light around him), he'd probably already remembered about 88mph thing and decided to let the DeLorean do it's thing. That's probably why he specifically says, "Let's see if you bastards can do 90!" At the end of the day, he probably saw no other way out of his predicament.
As for the Libyans, they were likely simply distracted from having a DeLorean shoot out a bunch of blue lights and disintigrate in front of their eyes.
I saw the musical and loved it but was sad they cut they Libyan scene. Logistically, it would have been hard to have a VW bus full of AK packing Libyans on stage, yet somehow they did great special effects for everything and it was like they brought the movie to life so they probably could have done that too. I think we're all adults and can understand that just because there's the occasional Libyan terrorist, that doesn't mean all Libyans are terrorists. Maybe they could have changed it to Doc ripping off some rogue Soviets who wanted him to build a bomb or something. It's just that Marty outrunning the Libyans was too cool a scene to lose.
Marty made it the year from 1985 to 1955 with the time machine before he got back from 1955 to 1985 as well.
His parents did not even notice he left.
@@robinorlowski2449, do you remember this movie.
@@matthewsallenback4343 he was gone a whole week in 1955. They just say good morning sleepyhead and ask if he slept in his clothes again.

Time travel is a bad idea
I agree. It is an EXTREMELY BAD IDEA!

ive always wondered what people from Libya thought of this scene
Please, like a DeLorean could get up to 88 miles per hour in a parking lot...
At 1:02 and 1:05 the speed dial reads 3306 but at 1:08 it reads 3299... Why is this?
