You can actually use Quick Rig instead of autorigging everything from scratch. It's an addon to AutoRig Pro that's made exactly to keep and use the bones and skinning/weights from CC3 (or any character mesh skinned to bones but having no rig).

THIS is the way.
I acttualy try this solution but the Quick Rig from Auto Rig Pro create another Armadure instead of add controllers to the selected bones, I have no idea why.
@@espinafreAzul yes but you can either convert the bone/groups names to ARP convention (so ARP tools can work on the rig too) or you can keep the original names, and delete the original armature. I think that's the only way to create a control rig, because there's the switch FK/IK so there's like 2 or 3 as many bones needed compared to the bare-bone original armature like from mixamo, just fk.
Anyway now it's better to use the official add-on in blender that converts to rigify.

How to change the LOD on CC3 exports? I want to create photo realistic still 3D Art so I need a high resolution / poly version of my character in blender. It always looks like a video game character when exporting as .obj or .fbx

Thank you so much for this very helpful tutorial!! Only the position of the shoulders of my character from CC is way too high. Could you give me a hint how to fix this?
Got stuck at the part where you were applying the eyelash textures as they were turning out opaque even though i had them set to alpha blend + backface culling in blender. Found a solution for anyone facing the same problem: make sure to check the "merge opacity to diffuse texture" under Texture and UV in the little gear icon next to target tool preset before exporting out of CC3.

@@sovanpattanaik Click on file, export, to fbx, besides the target tool preset, there's a gear icon, you clicked that and check the "merge opacity to diffuse texture" option

Good useful tutorial. I followed along fine until I got to the point of joining the two armatures. That worked okay, but I found the facial bones weren't skinned to the jaw, tongue or mouth. Is there another step to get those facial bones working correctly, as in the vid? Thanks.

Does any of this change if you use the the CC3 to blender add on then use the template for Auto-rig pro to create the auto pro rig which generates the rig automatically?
Great tutorial as always..I'm a big fan of yours...however I think its worth mentioning hat many of the morphs you are using do not come with CC3 out of the box..you are using SkinGen which is an additional plugin for CC3 to do addded facial/body morphs and makeup...still CC3 offers alot right out of the box
How do you get the makeup library in the content tab? I really struggling here...
Can you use the blender addon Faceit to take care of face morphs?
how do I make one more copy of the mesh? the mesh in blender won't allow me to do so, but I need to do different rendering for the blackface

Any chance you can do a wee tut (pretty please) rigging/binding a new OBJ piece of clothing to a character and copying the skin weight's, bit like you would with skinwrap in 3Ds Max, I'm not sure if you need to copy skin data after binding or quite how Blender does that, every time I try search for Blenders skinwrap it comes back with bloody srinkwrap because Google can't read English lol
i second that. or in general a tutorial on how to properly get the cc3 character exported as base mesh into blender and properly make new outfits.

why does the character not export to a proper z value ? the huge bone to rotate the entire mesh is at z=0 but the characters feet are 20 cm higher ... how to fix that properly ?

Using Ctrl+j to join armatures removes the eyes when going to edit mode. Can someone help me with this ?

Hey, is there a way of sculpting CC characters in Blender and then updating the model back to CC, like in the GoZ pipeline?
You can use the multires modifier to scult a displacement map and do the exact same thing you would do in Zbrush I think, but if you render in blender in the end you can also just stay there once you've sculpted.
A question? why it is that, if i change the skin or add dirt for ex the cloth disappears?
I am stuck at the facial part. When I rotate the Head in pose mode, the teeth, and beard is not following the head. Any solution?

I used the official plugin to import and make rigify rig. But after exporting to unreal engine I can't export the animations from the plugin using the export rigify motion doesn't work
Hello, very good, I am from Spain, I always follow your tutorials that are very good in the Blender pipeline character creato 4 and auto ring pro in time 13.44 it changes the bone at the top on the left it puts cc_base-facial bone and suddenly it changes cc_base head I am not able to see how he does it I have seen the tutorial ad nauseum please where is the magic thank you

The beard and brows freze auto rig pro and crash
you have to let it finish the calculations. it will lock up, but let it continue to run. eventually (slower computers will be longer) it will resume and you will be good to go.
After rigging.. if i raise the leg of my character.. the skin tears through his clothes. Please let me know how to fix that anyone
Can this be used to add breasts bones and name them? I have tried to add phyis's to the current setup but there seem to be to many bones in the chain. Using the same setting as Quang Phan has on his baseHuman Female character this fails because of the breast_twist bone between the Breast bone and spine_03

So we pay to create rigged characters only to then rig it again?
Hi is there a way to add a control to the rig? I'm just starting out with rigging characters and I would like to have the character breathing. However the chest control that is part of the rig only moves and doesn't scale.
Doesn't matter I found it. You choose additive from the secondary controller drop down on the rig tab and on the add limb drop down you select breast. When you position the bones you then click match to rig. Then do the binding process as in the video.
I parent the c_Head.x but the eyes and mouth still don't stick to the head like yours. I'm in blender 4 and CC4. This video needs updated.!
I imported my character to Blender and some of the materials were see-thru.....Is there a way to fix that?
Nevermind, I got it. The skin was see thru like a ghost because there were two skin_head_diffuse textures. One of the texture's color was attached to the Alpha and it created this weird transparency with my character

you just need to close the mesh and you will be all good. You can try putting a solidify modifier on the cloth. Make sure you close the eye sockets

All elbows export on the wrong axis. Been looking for a fix for months. Nothing here. Seems like it's a one-off issue.

you need to go to shading and set the input node of opacity to color instead of alpha
