Thank you so much for taking the time to make this tutorial! I am a weaver and new to crochet but I found this easy to follow and a fun way to learn the stitches rather than just making swatches. We are cat lovers so I will enjoy having these around the house as well as gifting my cat loving friends thanks again!
You are so welcome!
Fantastic tutorial! You explained everything in great detail and being able to see stitches and what you were doing up close was extremely helpful. Thanks so much for your version of this awesomely fun kitty coaster, I hope you make more videos as I enjoy your content. Keep up the great work! 🧶❤️
I appreciate that. I know the types of videos I look for to help me learn. And that’s the type of videos I’m trying to make! Thanks for the feedback!
@@FunkyThumbCrochet Glad to hear it, I think that's the perfect way to approach content creating in general, but especially when it comes to tutorials! :) You're very welcome, thank YOU for all that you share with us. I look forward to any videos you create in future!
❤❤❤❤ thanks!!!
Well it only took me 4 hours and lots of replays, but it turned out pretty good for my first EVER time picking up a crochet hook!
Wow! Congrats! There’s no way I could have ever of done this as a first project!!! Way to go!!!
@@FunkyThumbCrochet Thanks! 😅
I have been knitting off and on my whole life, I've cross stitched before as a child, and my family is generally very artistic and multi-media, so maybe it's just in my blood? I don't know. I just had to try this because it's hilarious.
Well, it sounds like you may have a knack for it!
Thank you. Great video
This was a Very easy pattern to follow. Ty
I can't wait to make some for my cat crazy neice. Thank you so much 🥰💞

Yes. She did. I made a set of four for her birthday and she was so happy. Best gift I've ever given her💕💕💕

New subscriber here. Truly enjoyed the explanation, close up, and keeping your hands in cameras view to see each movement of the yarn while you crochet. Please do more cat stuff. Haha love it! Anything you put out will be appreciated. 💕👍👏🏼
Much appreciated! The cats 🐱 are definitely a big hit! Lol

Round 3 ends with 22?
It would be helpful to have the end stitch counts listed, but I think?? That’s right?
rnd 2 ends with 10
rnd 3:21
rnd 4:29
rnd 5:35
rnd 6:42

That’s great! I had to hit the translate button in order to read this, but I’m glad I had that option to do so!! Thank you for sharing with me!!
Hahaha great! Thank you
Obrigada ❤️
Hi Funkythumb I just had to comment on magic rings. We don't have to make a magic ring just chain 3 or 4 then slip stitch ends together to make a ring. Magic ring might help pull the butt tighter but I prefer a loose butt so I chain 3. I never got the magic ring down I always forget it. I prefer chains. I do tight stitches.
That’s nice. Do what you want. Thanks for sharing that you like it loose ….😬
Wonderful but wish you had started with a picture of the final product.
Thank you for your input. I was fairly new to making videos. Always need to improve!!
Thank you 😊
Is the trick for the rail and legs just the fabric stiffener??
That’s the only way I have found that will get them to lay down. No matter worst else I have tried, they always want to curl up.
Can I use number five bulky yarn instead of using two strands?
You’re more than welcome to try. I never have, though. So, I really can’t say otherwise. But, if you do, let me know how they turn out!!!
Parabéns 👏 👏
Adorei ❤️
Hola qué tal bueno le pido disculpas porque veo que hace más de un año que no hace vídeo siento el comentario no ha sido ofensivo pero ha sido inoportuno le pido disculpas veo que ya no hace trabajos para RUclips por lo menos en este canal gracias
I just noticed the name of your channel 😂😂
I just roll with it! It’s funny because it’s true!!

Amei.

Hello I would like to ask permission to sell the handmade finished product for local farmer's market?
Absolutely
Newbie here 👋 Do you think a 4 mm hook will work just as well? Or is 4.5 a must for it to look good?
It could work...Depends on how tight you crochet. If your stitches are still pretty loose, then you will end up with a bigger coaster. My advice, just give it a try. Sometimes, you go by your own personal preference. Hope this helps! =)
@@FunkyThumbCrochet hi again and thank you for your help! I’m wondering about the grey and white coaster in the thumbnail. Did you use two different colored yarn to make that, or was it a special patterned yarn, if you know what I mean? My mom has two tortoiseshell cats so I would like to make a coaster with black and gold for her birthday. Thanks again!
@@MJSolit I believe in that one I did use a grey strand and a white strand. I mainly use yarn that has the grey and white mixed in, but during Covid, those supplies ran low so I had to use what was on hand. 😁 If you go to my etsy page, you can see the cats with the yarn that has the grey and white combined.
is there any written pattern directions that demonstrate the entire project? Thank you so much!
It's a work in progress. There are variations out there that do have written patterns. Hope this helps!

@@FunkyThumbCrochetthe link doesn't seem to work anymore. Do you have it anywhere else? 😊
@@stephaniedavis764 I did actually take my pattern down. I didn’t realize there was a link in the comments. I thought I got them all. I don’t have my pattern listed anywhere right at the moment.
Is there a stitch count at the end of each round?
I have a written pattern on ravelry and etsy. ravel.me/cat-butt-coasters-7

Did you double #4 medium weight yarn? Thank you!
Most cotton yarn I purchase is #4. So, yes. I doubled it. I found the cats lay better this way.
@@FunkyThumbCrochetThank you.
Will this work using 100% cotton
Absolutely! That is what I always try to use…
I have a ton of arcylic yarn and absolutely no cotton yarn. Can't this be made using. Arcylic?
You can use whichever yarn you choose. Cotton yarn is absorbent and acrylic is not. So, your coasters will feel very wet if you use acrylic. That’s the only reason I suggest cotton. If it’s for your personal use, then yes. If your selling these, use cotton.
@@FunkyThumbCrochet ty for replying.. yeah. Just not enuff cotton. I keep my cotton yarn for dish cloths lol but cool pattern tho. It's funny. I been asked to make. Cat. Stuff and never showed any. Cat made items on my page to sell lol. Have good week and. Ty
Do you have to double up the working yarn?
I do because it makes it sturdier. The legs and tail have a tendency to roll up. But you can try it without doubling up. I never have so I'm not sure how it will turn out. But, if you do try it, let me know how it goes!
