    Thank you so much for taking the time to make this tutorial! I am a weaver and new to crochet but I found this easy to follow and a fun way to learn the stitches rather than just making swatches. We are cat lovers so I will enjoy having these around the house as well as gifting my cat loving friends thanks again!

    Hi Funkythumb I just had to comment on magic rings.We don't have to make a magic ring just chain 3 or 4 then slip stitch ends together to make a ring. Magic ring might help pull the butt tighter but I prefer a loose butt so I chain 3. I never got the magic ring down I always forget it. I prefer chains. I do tight stitches.

    Newbie here 👋 Do you think a 4 mm hook will work just as well? Or is 4.5 a must for it to look good?

    • @FunkyThumbCrochet
      @FunkyThumbCrochet  2 года назад +1

      It could work...Depends on how tight you crochet. If your stitches are still pretty loose, then you will end up with a bigger coaster. My advice, just give it a try. Sometimes, you go by your own personal preference. Hope this helps! =)

      @@FunkyThumbCrochet hi again and thank you for your help! I’m wondering about the grey and white coaster in the thumbnail. Did you use two different colored yarn to make that, or was it a special patterned yarn, if you know what I mean? My mom has two tortoiseshell cats so I would like to make a coaster with black and gold for her birthday. Thanks again!

    • @hettienicole405
      @hettienicole405 2 года назад +1

      @@MJSolit I believe in that one I did use a grey strand and a white strand. I mainly use yarn that has the grey and white mixed in, but during Covid, those supplies ran low so I had to use what was on hand. 😁 If you go to my etsy page, you can see the cats with the yarn that has the grey and white combined.

    • @FunkyThumbCrochet
      @FunkyThumbCrochet  Год назад

      You can use whichever yarn you choose. Cotton yarn is absorbent and acrylic is not. So, your coasters will feel very wet if you use acrylic. That’s the only reason I suggest cotton. If it’s for your personal use, then yes. If your selling these, use cotton.

    Do you have to double up the working yarn?

    • @FunkyThumbCrochet
      @FunkyThumbCrochet  2 года назад

      I do because it makes it sturdier. The legs and tail have a tendency to roll up. But you can try it without doubling up. I never have so I'm not sure how it will turn out. But, if you do try it, let me know how it goes!
