    Thank you so very much! For three years my soap dispenser would not work. Our automatic optimal dispense drawer was filling with water and simply not emptying. Watching your video very carefully, my pump was rotating but not sucking. After several trials and errors, I found my pump hoses were reversed from factory.🥵 So,.I reversed the clear hoses and NOW I have detergent flowing in the lines like yours. I am In the testing phase and have notified Maytag. Will let you know the results..😀

      Update, Maytag was not interested in providing any support, "out of warranty", so if there is a factory defect or quality control issue, Maytag will not support the buyer.

    Great video and thanks. Wish this was around last year. With your info I was able to trouble shoot my same washer. Been doing this since new in December 2020. I’ve had Maytag out here twice to fix this problem, they’ve replaced the tray etc. still doing it and can’t figure it out. After watching your vid and learning how this machine handles water and fluids, I will share this back. The soap pump is working as it should yet still same problem. What I believe the issue is water pressure. The soap tray is not sealed therefore when water is flooding in to charge say the, bleach or softener, it is flooding into the soap portion. I have very high water pressure at my home. After seeing how it works, I closed the faucets down a bit to reduce the pressure . I think this is the true culprit. At least in my case. Time will tell, but I’m hopeful. At the time Maytag was here, the tech said he is dealing with these new machines a lot for the same problem. Could it be something as simple as high pressure. Let’s hope.

      What’s your water pressure?

    • @robertmcshanephotography6959
      @robertmcshanephotography6959 Год назад +5

      @@anto6423 honestly I don’t know. I haven’t put a gauge on it to check, but I should. I pulled the drawer out to see what the water actually did without the tray in. I saw that regardless off the setting water flowed through the bleach and softener trays. It looked like the flow was very high. I turned the pressure down while cycling the machine in the service mode as described until I could see the water was only flowing into the bleach and softener section without splashing over into the soap. I’ve had the water tuned down for the last two weeks and have not had an issue since. After the drawer was replaced by a technician the first time, I had water issues in the soap after a few days. Hope that helps.

    This was very informative. I appreciate your thoughtful video as it was detailed and easy for me to understand.
    We just bought the same washer and dryer one year ago and we’ve had problems with it cleaning our clothes months ago. The tech said we need to make sure the soil level is at highest. It is always at the highest level and detergent was dispensing correctly up until recently. I wonder if there was an issue with the pump a long time ago. I am going to try the diagnostic test 10 and see if it works.
    I do have a question for you. You mentioned toward the end of your video that you cleaned out those clear detergent hoses with very hot water using your kitchen sink faucet. How did you take the hoses off? That might be a little out of my league. Lol.
    Thank you again for the video!!

    The liquid dispenser worked for a few washes on my new Maytag (8630) washer, but then it started to backfill the dispenser with water ? So, ever since I just use detergent pods ! Lately, I've heard that filling the dispenser with white vinegar might unclog the line, so I've been trying that, I'll still keep using the pods if it doesn't ...no problem !

    • @CravingSolutions
      @CravingSolutions  Год назад +1

      I actually realized on mine that as well. So what I did was put a foam stick pad mainly used for doors and windows to stop water from going from the right to the left…

      @@CravingSolutions On Google, some technician's say just replace the dispenser, and some say that the pump and line are probably clogged !? Well, that runs into a project, cause you have to take the top of the washer off, and the small pump is behind the dispenser ! I think I'll just keep using pods...ha !

    Thanks for posting. But you didn't say what the root cause was of the clog? Seems like it may have to do with the viscosity of the detergent. I'm going to do what you recommended with "diagnostic 10" with the tray full of water instead of detergent to see if that clears the system.

    This worked for us, but temporarily. I think the issue happens when I run the "whites" cycle. The pressure of the water going into the bleach compartment is too high and files the detergent compartment with water. We have tried turning the pressure down and if that fails will try the foam piece mentioned in one of your comments below.
    Thank you!

    Edit, i did what you did. No color in the hoses just water. 🤔 Wondering if someone was in there b4 me. It May be trying to pull from the outlet side and the hoses are backwards. Can you verify how the hoses are connected to the pump on yours? Left outlet on pump to detergent output, bottom connection and right on pump to upper on drawer? Thanks!
    Thank you!!! I've been trying to figure out this exact issue. When called Maytag Cust service, they couldn't help with out sending someone out. No thanks! I've been searching for a while and today your vid popped up. My question was, how am i getting so many loads out of one full detergent fill? It wouldn't tell me time to refill, and like you say all water, until i pull drawer to clean and empty it. I will try your fix and edit in my results. Thanks again. 👍

    • @CravingSolutions
      @CravingSolutions  Год назад +1

      I am so sorry RUclips didn’t show me that I had a missed comment before… You’ve probably already solved your issue, but the top one is the one that auctions from the tray and the bottom is the one that brings the detergent back in. In the diagnostics mode just let #10 run again and again and if that doesn’t work you should clean out the tubes.
      Also the tray in the back may not be making good contact, try to make sure it’s flush so that when it starts to suction it’s suctioning the detergent and not just air.
      I appreciate your support for my channel and apologize once again for the delay. With your help and others we are almost to 1k subscribers!

    • @CravingSolutions

      I always use the he logo detergent, hard to tell you how long it will take. But what I do to ensure my dispenser drawer continues to work. I always fill just enough to make it say low detergent. I know that kind of defeats the purpose, but so far I’ve been confident that I don’t really have to worry.
      I also found that water sometimes gets in the detergent compartment from the other compartments. I used some caulking in the center of the lid to stop water from coming in from under.
