I had 2018 Q50S AWD and I agree with these items. Mostly tires and garbage infotainment system. Also packaging on this vehicle (at least for 2018) was horrible. $50k MSRP and the vehicle didn't come with memory seats and came with base audio. The brakes may looks cool and sporty, but they are also trash and required replacement at 30k miles. The pad still had decent life remaining, but the rotors started to wobble and the car was shaking under braking like crazy.

no. it has the 3.7 which sounds great but it a letdown for mods unless you spent $10,000. its what posers and poor people buy. also, the 14/15 Q50s all had infotainment issues and the premium sound system sucks until the update in 2017. the best version of the Q50 to buy for mods is the 17 Q50S. you get all the sport stuff standard before it was removed and made an option for 18+, plus you keep the same front end as some dont like the newer front end. theyre also old enough that depreciation is basically done but still low enough mileage as theyre all just coming off lease from idiots who dont know how to manage their money. leasing is extremely ignorant, but thats another story.
@@kuvnick7946 not even close. the stillen kit is terrible and barely puts out 400whp. plus, they struggle to make 310wtq, which is what a stock low boost VR30 does lol. even worse, that kit is $7,200. the better options are from soho and topgunz. with the kit plus the required injectors/pump/tune, youll be WELL over $10,000 by the time you get it sorted out, just like i said. after spending upwards of $10-$12,000, youll have a s/c 3.7 that makes much less torque but roughly the same whp as a tune only VR30. only a true fucking moron would waste that kind of money. take your ignorant ass on somewhere else.

Also, maybe this is just a BMW thing, but I miss my seats fitting me like a glove. I could adjust them 12 different ways. but BMW missing me with that subscription shit for features the car already got
I bought a Q50 Sensory Limited. I hate the runflat tires as well, but when mine got a small nail in one of them, they told me that they could not patch it, and that it was NOT under warranty. I had to buy a tire package. A brotha was able to patch the tire, but he didn’t put enough air in the tire. I’m taking the runflats off by year’s end, and get some Goodyear’s. As for the mirrors, mine fold down by themselves when it’s apparent they may get hit, but other than that, I have to control them from the inside. My car is a 2021 Q50 Sensory Limited that I was forced to buy after my 2017 Challenger Scat Pack with 42,000 miles on it was stolen from me. I love the infotainment system, but it does lag and attracts hella dust. If the economy was so bad, I would’ve gotten a Red Sport 400. Are you going to get some black rims for your car?
@@CamsLife12 I agree, I love the Red Sport! If the economy wasn’t so bad, I would’ve gotten it. But I can’t swing a $1,250.00 monthly car payment. But to test drive one is close to driving a Scat Pack or a Hellcat!
Love the comments. All of the guys that know about the RX8 understands the turbo cool down. Hey Hondas use to use turbo timers. Bring them back, lol we need them lol😂😂😂😂
this is what the poors say because they couldnt afford a better version of the car. thats why you see so many 14/15 luxes and premiums with sport bumpers. then, they talk bad about the vr30 to make themselves feel better and justify their purchase (that no one asked about) vs a vr30. vr30s are no less reliable than any other turbo engine despite what you read from the low iq facebook and ig trolls. most of them cant even perform an oil change in the first place.
Nice video! I'm still on the fence about going with either a 2018 Q50 Luxe 3.OT or a 2019 Maxima SL or SR. But yea I've read and heard about the infotainment system being less than desirable 😆
System on my 2014 kept locking up. Under warranty: reprogrammed twice, replaced SD card, replaced SD reader, replaced upper screen, replaced lower screen, replaced unit with rebuilt one, and, finally, replaced entire unit with new one. Works finally, though has failed to load a few times. Car came with run-flat tires. Blew seven tires in 16 months and 10k miles. Only three covered by tire warranty; $300 per replacement. Finally replaced all four with Bridgestone regular tires. No problems since. Factory spare in trunk.
The infotainment system can be swapped out with PX6 telsa style screen. I have it on my 2018 Q50 Red Sport and it's legit. I agree with you on the folded mirror's my 2016 GS350 F-type had them but looks like 2021 or 2022 Q50s has them now. To add to your list, power trunk, rear passenger door handles to unlock without key, vented seats, and larger cup holders (come on infiniti). Bonus somewhere to rest my phone and NOT in the cup holder...Overall I still really like the car 🤣
complaint number 2 is a TSB performed for free and isnt NEARLY an issue the morons on facebook pretend it to be. same goes for the "turbo issues". most of those failures are from lack of maintenance and straight up abuse. tires? really? thats a wear item, get over it. theyre runflats to save weight and cost. use regular tires and get AAA. i do agree with you, runflats for any car suck. power folding mirrors would be nice but i can count on one hand in my entire life that i ever thought about folding mirrors. export Q50s have power folding mirrors, its entirely possible to retrofit them if youre mechanically inclined.
@@CamsLife12 im still waiting for the aftermarket to work out the bugs on the tesla style screens. theyre getting closer but its not quite there yet. then, you could grab a JB4 or a tune and see whatever you wanted from there. youre still right though, the oem apps are idiotic, lol. a G meter with a fuel saver on the same screen. like, what? lolol
i got my tires replace once n paid for heavy heavy duty n tires been straight ever since. jus pay for the extra on tires instead of running back every few thousand miles.
the reason people blow the turbos and sometimes the motor is because they use 0-20 oil and beat the car up for 10k miles before they think to change it, i have a 2016 red sport and in the summer i use 5-30 synthetic and change it every 3-4k, my car has been tuned for 30k miles at 20psi and I boost it all day, zero mechanical issues except an injector clog probly from running e30 , if you race your car you cannot follow the 10k mile oil change routine that isnt for you!
What? Number 5? Really? I have a 2014 Q50 (technically a Skyline because I live in NZ), and it not only has side mirrors that close automatically when the car is turned off, but also a button/switch on the door that flips them in or out. That's weird.
Is there a setting that makes them close automatically? My 2016 has power folding mirrors but they dont open not close automatically. Friend of mine drives a 2014 Prius with auto folding mirrors 🙄
Take your car to some other mechanic shop and they can change your tires to something other then run flats. Infinity won't do it because they have to put their tires on the car. But any other tire you get will be so much better and cheaper. It's 2000 to get a full set of tires. That's the same cost as Corvette tires and these aren't nearly as high performance. When you change to some non run flat tires you will absolutely love the ride.
I've had 4 infinitis M37 2011, I think, g37 2013, Q50 3.0t 2019 didn't like. Q50 2015 3.7 easier to work on. Oil change 15 mins. All vehicles over 100k. Only 1 problem the g37. Issues I brought on myself. Hard driver. Changed my own serpentine belt. Plus 100k. Starter.(Note only changes brushes) cost about $80. Easy.
First thing that suck about the q50 is the fact that you have to manually close your mirror 😆😆😆😆😆 So happy I have the exact and car Japanese version and it has auto fold mirror
Honestly, I truly just think I had a lemon. I know of others who have had Zero issues with their Q50s, the 3.7s definitely sound better and are reliable in my personal opinion. Someone else may tell you the complete opposite you know, I say if you can go test drive a 3.7 and then a 3.0t

I had 2018 Q50 Red Sport for 3 years and I had absolutely 0 problems with engine or anything else, I know to each their own ofc but infotainment system and all that I never pay attention to it, I'm not a gadget type of guy at all, the only complaint I have abt this car is that ridiculous gear box this car comes, total disappointment, perfect made engine with grandpa gear box, it's not that is a bad one but absolutely does not belong to this car, this car needs performance gear box and anything else is good, I got rid of this car bcs I couldn't stand that gear box. Wish you good luck with it.
I just test drive a 2019 yesterday and maaaaaan, that thing was quick. 0-60 in 4.5 was lovely and 99mph felt like 65. It was my first time driving an awd Q50 and that’s needed cause the rear wheel is trash

Q50 all day! I just got my last Tuesday and love it (I have a 2019 q50). I had a 2020 Corolla before this and it’s night and day (I know you said Camry but same shit lol) way faster and more luxurious. Nothing wrong with Toyota, but you get what you pay for and a little more with Infiniti
Good vid brother, They are my dislikes also. I have 2020 Q50 They really cheap out on the accessories, no blindspot monitoring, the trunk struts suck. Lid slams down. no. it has the 3.7 which sounds great but it a letdown for mods unless you spent $10,000. its what posers and poor people buy. also, the 14/15 Q50s all had infotainment issues and the premium sound system sucks until the update in 2017.
the best version of the Q50 to buy for mods is the 17 Q50S. you get all the sport stuff standard before it was removed and made an option for 18+, plus you keep the same front end as some dont like the newer front end. theyre also old enough that depreciation is basically done but still low enough mileage as theyre all just coming off lease from idiots who dont know how to manage their money. leasing is extremely ignorant, but thats another story.
Don’t say that’s what poor people buy. Lol a 2014 supercharge q50 3.7 smokes you, I guess you got smoked by a broke person 😂
@@OxBlitzkriegxO I had a 14 Q50s with electrical issues, but the 3.7 was great for what I paid 👌. The VR30 is capable of more power, but that VQ TRUMPET never gets old 🤙

i feel like car makers are getting lazy. they aren't adding the attention to detail they used to because OHH LOOK THERES AN IPAD IN THE DASH!
I have a Q50 Sport here in the UK and it has the electric fold in mirrors. Can't believe they would have an inferior spec for the US market.
You think that is bad, I am in Canada and for some models of cars they deny us options the US cars have so we are even more inferior.
2017 3.0tt no issues at all besides one belt replacement for $250
Nice
I'm looking to buy an Infiniti 2.2D diesel. Are they reliable at all?
I can’t answer about the diesels

Wow thanks for the video. I once regarded this car as a top notch vehicle.
It has its perks, check out the 5 things I do like about this car.
@@CamsLife12 I will do.
Dope video
I'm loving my QX50, but my man I agree with you on the mirrors and infotainment.
Like my 2006 BMW 325i had a button that folded the mirrorsin. Also, maybe this is just a BMW thing, but I miss my seats fitting me like a glove. I could adjust them 12 different ways.
but BMW missing me with that subscription shit for features the car already got
What year is it? Great vid. Thanks for posting!!
Thanks for watching! Also it’s a 2018, don’t get me wrong. I enjoy the car for sure, it’s just minor issues.
I think I messed my motor up can it be replaced with a Different motor?
I sold the car recently, I should’ve just gotten a red sport. I’m waiting on the next vehicle, I want to go fast now 😂
@@CamsLife12 I agree, I love the Red Sport! If the economy wasn’t so bad, I would’ve gotten it. But I can’t swing a $1,250.00 monthly car payment. But to test drive one is close to driving a Scat Pack or a Hellcat!
@@thescepterofjudah12 Me neither, I’m just being patient this time around. I’ve been getting car content still though

Love the comments. All of the guys that know about the RX8 understands the turbo cool down. Hey Hondas use to use turbo timers. Bring them back, lol we need them lol😂😂😂😂
#Vr30 FTW in a race, but VQ for long term 🙀🙀
this is what the poors say because they couldnt afford a better version of the car.
thats why you see so many 14/15 luxes and premiums with sport bumpers. then, they talk bad about the vr30 to make themselves feel better and justify their purchase (that no one asked about) vs a vr30.
vr30s are no less reliable than any other turbo engine despite what you read from the low iq facebook and ig trolls. most of them cant even perform an oil change in the first place.
@@OxBlitzkriegxO I have a lot of dope Q50s content if you’re interested 🤙
Nice video! I'm still on the fence about going with either a 2018 Q50 Luxe 3.OT or a 2019 Maxima SL or SR. But yea I've read and heard about the infotainment system being less than desirable 😆
Haha I’m slowly growing into the car, you can’t go wrong with either !
@@hpryluck838 Intresting. I've never liked run flat tires myself. They're more of a headache than anything.
Okay then brotha car look clean
I appreciate that ! 🤘🏾

Yes sirrrr
complaint number 2 is a TSB performed for free and isnt NEARLY an issue the morons on facebook pretend it to be. same goes for the "turbo issues". most of those failures are from lack of maintenance and straight up abuse.
tires? really? thats a wear item, get over it. theyre runflats to save weight and cost. use regular tires and get AAA. i do agree with you, runflats for any car suck.
power folding mirrors would be nice but i can count on one hand in my entire life that i ever thought about folding mirrors. export Q50s have power folding mirrors, its entirely possible to retrofit them if youre mechanically inclined.
Thanks for watching 🤘🏾🔥, check out the 5 things I like about the car video as well.
@@CamsLife12 im still waiting for the aftermarket to work out the bugs on the tesla style screens. theyre getting closer but its not quite there yet. then, you could grab a JB4 or a tune and see whatever you wanted from there.

My 2017 Infiniti has power folding mirrors. This must be the base trim.
Nope, it was a 2018 Infiniti Q50 Sport
2:34 YEAH IT’S TWIN TURBO
WE OUT HERE BABY!!!
Can’t wait to feature the fireball 🔥
You need to get an update for the infotainment system at Nissan/Infiniti to stop the lag
the reason people blow the turbos and sometimes the motor is because they use 0-20 oil and beat the car up for 10k miles before they think to change it, i have a 2016 red sport and in the summer i use 5-30 synthetic and change it every 3-4k, my car has been tuned for 30k miles at 20psi and I boost it all day, zero mechanical issues except an injector clog probly from running e30 ,
if you race your car you cannot follow the 10k mile oil change routine that isnt for you!
"Turbos... I don't like that."
I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that one.
Got me feeling a lil discouraged about the 2014 Hybrid Sport I’m about to buy.
You’ll be fine
What? Number 5?
Just Curious, if you do not like the car why not trade it in for a BMW or something?
Negativity brings in views, views bring in watch hours and subs etc, I got rid of the car not too long after though.
Cool video brother !!!
Thank you ! 🔥🤘🏾
Congrats! All yeah no boost gauge
Easy.
First thing that suck about the q50 is the fact that you have to manually close your mirror 😆😆😆😆😆
So happy I have the exact and car Japanese version and it has auto fold mirror
Great video bro. Would you say the 3.7 is less headaches ? I’m in the market for a Q50 but I’m mainly concerned about reliability
In terms of reliability, the 3.7l is the definitely the go to option since it’s NA, turbos tend to put a lot more wear on the engine
@@CamsLife12 i just got my q50 luxe 3.0t (last tuesday) and i love it! its a 2019 and it was a lease so it was kept well and maintained. i have confidence that mine will last a long time because of those reasons and im going to take care of it of course. ive heard people (a friend or people that go to my gyms) that they dont have any problems with theirs
I have 2014 Q50 3.7 liter and now the 2017 Q50S with the 3.7 liter.
It's super reliable and the Q50S is So FUN to drive. I have 19x9.5 Niche wheels on it and lower, it's look so good and handle so well for such a big car.

@@kempowarrior how about buying a 2015 3.7 with 200k miles on it?
Problem with turbos is they shouldn’t be in daily drivers it’s not the type of car where your rushing out the house to get to work start and go… turbos are and should only be in high end sports vehicles.
None of that stuff matters. Main question is it reliable??

I had 2018 Q50 Red Sport for 3 years and I had absolutely 0 problems with engine or anything else, I know to each their own ofc but infotainment system and all that I never pay attention to it, I'm not a gadget type of guy at all, the only complaint I have abt this car is that ridiculous gear box this car comes, total disappointment, perfect made engine with grandpa gear box, it's not that is a bad one but absolutely does not belong to this car, this car needs performance gear box and anything else is good, I got rid of this car bcs I couldn't stand that gear box.

Good vid brother,
They are my dislikes also.

They really cheap out on the accessories, no blindspot monitoring, the trunk struts suck. Lid slams down.
No miles or klms to go till empty displayed, no memory seats,
No compass,
I guess its all about the engine, but pretty sad for a supposedly luxury car.
I rushed into my purchase, that’s my fault. I definitely learned a listen! I recently sold the Q50 to carmax
