I have this laptop but with the gtx 1050ti. I love this laptop, runs anything I throw at it. And it’s nice and thin so I can take it anywhere with me and battery is pretty good too.
I have no idea why I watch your reviews despite having no intention of buying the product, your production quality and speaking tone just pull me in. Keep it up, you deserve a million subs!
I have this one still in 2020 and it stills preforms decent. The fan noise is pretty loud when it kicks in. The keyboard is actually pretty nice to type on. I have the 1080p, i7- 6700HQ. The battery has allways been good but starting to show it's age in the battery life (not bad as this has been used daily)
Man your videos are so smooth and laid back. I love your chill voice, not yelling or abrasive. I also love how you do that drawing of the device and outline each component, nice touch.
The price is a bit much for the specs but I think it looks awesome and I usually prefer HP keyboards. Love the vids Dave! Been thinking between the Acer Nitro, Dell 7559, Y700 and this. So far I think this is what I'm going for ;)
+Dave Lee Thanks man. I rly love ur videos and they are very helpfull. Im looking for a laptop(gaming) and ive been looking at the omen for about a week now. This review was realy helpfull and i hink im gonna take it. Im just not sure if im gonna take the 4 k schreen or wait to buy The new razer blade
Hi Dave, I'm a fan of your vids, but for a gaming laptop review you really need to step it up a bit, I mean, I know you reviewed last years model but you need to play at least 4 or 5 Group A shooters on it to let the viewers see how good it is, GTAV is always a good bench mark, as is black ops 3 , fallout 4 and maybe one or two really new games , so apart from this it was a good review!
i used to showcase more games. I just find it draws the videos on for too long. I actually do play a TON more of games on the devices i review but I don't film it the whole time. i'll keep your comment in mind though! thanks =)
+ranjit sidhu I'm not Dave but maybe I could help the Alienware 15 is a gaming laptop and the xps 15 is an ultra portable. If you want to game get the Alienware and if your want it for casual use and maybe light gaming get the xps 15 although know that it will not be good at playing newer games.
I'm buying a new gaming rig soon and every time I research a gaming laptop on RUclips you have a vid review on it lol. Good work man, you definitely earned my sub.
i swear to God the snakes in the video gave me nightmares, in shit scared of snakes so next time could you cut back on them please. But the video is nice and im looking for a laptop for uni which i can still game in
+weirdeyedkid ™ talked to Aorus and they told me there is going to be mobile versions and that rumor was an early rumor there will definitely be mobile so no worries man!
+John Hanson I'd rather get the full and hope the price would reflect the new pricing scheme. But I just ordered a Y700 for $770 so It'll be a few years till I upgrade again anyway.
Dave Lee for your next video you should do a review on the the Lenovo y900 gaming laptop here is the link to it on amazon www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FJFNE3U/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Dave Lee hi, I am looking for a laptop for content creation. I use adobe premier and after effects mainly, sometimes I also work on Maya... Can you please recommend a good laptop for me? Is MacBook 2015 good for Adobe software... Please help me put... There are lots of videos about gaming but not concentrated on content creation... Please reply I have budget of around 2000$, and in India not all the laptops are available you review..
Hey Dave, I have a general question about 4k panels on laptops; since 4k is 4x 1080p, would it be fine to just set the windows resolution to 1080p and leave it like that to increase battery life and performance, or are there drawbacks to that, like a blurrier image compared to a native 1080p panel. Thanks!
You will always have 4 times the pixels that need to be supplied with energy dropping the resolution just results in "one optical pixel being represented by 4 physical pixels"
I wish it did, but setting it to 1080p activates the same number of pixels., It just has 4 pixels showing the same color The only difference would be GPU power usage. The GPU would only be processing a 1080p image so it wouldn't have to work as hard. (You'd probably see slightly better battery life for GPU-heavy stuff?)
+Dave Lee ahh so it works like I think it does, that's good. I was just curious since I've started looking into buying a laptop for school in September, but I got sidetracked and started looking at laptops with 4k panels, do you have a video or a reccomendation as to where to look for a cheap laptop that would be usable for school?
Chou Fleur i have same laptop design but mine is the i7 7700HQ and 1050 Ti. I did undervolting with Intel Extreme Tunning and games at high settings runs at bewteen 60 to 65 C for 3 hours of gameplay. I been doing this for a month and never rechead at 70 C. I also put like a Gatorade cap underneath the laptop so that laptop can breathe better.

Chou Fleur I recommend to do research of undervolting i7 7700HQ. Mine I have it -0.130v. Underneath the laptop there’s some rubber feats, I put like 2 soda caps underneath near cooling airvent of the laptop. The caps makes a big difference
I really thank you for posting this review, I really needed some more insight in my decision on buying this laptop and this really helped me in reaching my decision! I'll go for it since in Mexico some stores are adding a 27" display along.
Dave can i ask you something? since pascal about to be release for the laptop edition.. should i wait for it? and i wanted to buy ROG GL502VT, will it turn to the 1000 version or it will stay in 900 series when i buy the new one? really confused on this done a lot of research to the store and internet but cant seem to find the answer... it will really help me if you could reply dave :(
Dave im not sure if you ever heard of HP Pavilion bc020tx (as this laptop is only available in Vietnam where i live ) but im using it right now and its basically just a white reskinned version of the HP omen you reviewed in the video
+Dave Lee hey Dave I have bought msi gp62 6qf but I m not able to find a perfect review for this laptop as all the videos are in languages I don't know....so I was wondering if you could help???
Hey Dave, I see a lot of the new omen owner complaining about: 1.Gaming: the frame rate drops from around 60 fps to 30 fps after awhile of gaming. Temporary fixes: 1) unplugging the ac and then plugging it back in again. 2) Restarting the laptop. 2.Keyboard: Stuck keys (not physically, for example, when you press W, the key bounces back up but you would be still be walking forward in games) I mean I see a LOT of owners saying this. Have you run into these issues as well?
The sad part is that my MSI GE62 with similar specs cost $915 on sale. The build is excellent. But that was after the student discount on the Microsoft store.
RORYtheALLSTAR The earlier HP Omen was pretty good in quality and looked good. Most gaming laptops look to gamerish or unappealing to me. I would agree.
If you see this one in person, it's so much worse. Look at one of HP's budget laptops, it's the exact same build. For the same price, you can get the 15 inch Lenovo Y700 (with a lot of options added), which I think is the $1000 gaming laptop to beat at the moment. It has a gorgeous build, great sound quality, an amazing keyboard (typical Lenovo), a much better display (in 1080p and 4K), a 960m+i7 Skylake processor on the base model, and great performance overall for about $1100.
The computer seems to run very cool and quiet compared to other gaming laptops in my experience, at least the model I have before me seems to be running cooler and quieter than your video model. Such is the case with many devices I guess with no two exactly alike. While I liked your review overall, I felt you put in your own personal opinions too often for a unbiased review. Keep up the good work on your quality reviews for computers.
I know how late to come back to this review. I was considering this laptop for a while. and I think I'll get it (it's relatively a good upgrade over my current laptop)
Congrats on 200K subs! But the older omen looks much sexier imo, and its price has really come down a lot! Snagged one for the same price as this one! But I admit I do miss a good old SATA bay and upgradable RAM..
I own the 2015 Omen and I really like it. The laptop is solid build, fast SSD, and great performance in a good size package. I was hoping they would keep the trend and just refine the Omen instead of dropping the idea. HP can make a good laptop when they really try.
Hey Dave! Would you consider doing a Top 5 for Best Laptops for College Students later this year? I loved your Gaming Laptop one, and I wanted to hear your thoughts on portability, and performance from work to light to medium gaming. Thanks!
The old design was so much more stealthy and sleek , also the last omen had an RGB keyboard, flashy speakers , touch screen , and just... Just seemed so much better for the money. I know HP is targeting the mid range budget laptop range with this but still.. Old omen ftw
My comment for your previous omen video was " I'd prefer the Lenovo Y50 instead " ....and now for this one as well my comment stays strong ( or maybe the y700) 🙂
I got a 17inch Omen for $1022 on July 4th Sale at Bestbuy for an i7 and 965m its a great deal for the proce wish I had heard bout the 4k display tho great review! As always bro
This (base model) is pretty much the Inspiron 7559 but with an (arguably) better design. If it were priced at $799 I think a lot more people (myself included) would buy it. your thoughts, Dave? Also, nice video, as always!
Please keep uploading ur video. I really enjoy watching ur videos although i dont really need to get a new laptop. Anw, here is a friendly comment. All ur videos are great, but i prefer the old content of review that you usually do rather than this new content.
I love this laptop. It has just enough without the bells and wistles like rgb and metal case that you dont need. I wish more manufacturers did this and kept the price down.
Hey Dave there's a rumor about an HP Omen laptop with an RX 460 GPU in it I was considering on buying it but I want your review and out look on it i really like your reviews on your channel I've come across and watched a lot of other Laptop reviewers but I like how you put your experience with the product in to your video reviews more power to you
All these people rocking with cool laptops like XPS 13 while I'm just sitting here with my Acer Aspire 4750G from six years ago lol. Nice vid btw Dave as usual.
Are anti glare screens the norm these days? I am going to get a laptop soon but am unsure about anti glare VS glossy screens. I do not care about refresh rate for gaming or anything, just want to know which screen looks better for movies and stuff. Thanks, and great review once again!
Dave ur videos are great and vry vry helpful, keep making more videos and plz for any laptop compatible for gaming plz do but 1-2 min gameplay of latest games.
Awesome review and video quality! I'm a HP Fan but I'm not excited with this new model. Anyway, it seems ok for those who doesn't wanna spend too much for top gamer laptop.
I think it would be awesome if you start talking about the bloatware on these laptops. I have had bad experiences with bloatware In the past and I think it would be great to know which of these has the least intrusive bloat
Hi Dave, loved your content. Wondering if you are going to do a review for the 1070 omen? Considering the price and specs it's really attractive choice
Hey Dave, please review the new Gigabyte Aero 14, looks like an awesome combination of specs/portability. Would love to get your opinion on it. Cheers, and thanks for the great videos so far!
OMG Dave I'm so disappoint about it, I really love the design of the old omen, but what are these!!!!!! This is the thing that I've been waiting for 1year???? An old omen design with a 1060 is the perfect combination
Great video(as always) Dave! You must heard me yesterday:) For someone like me who is looking for a balance between gaming performance, slim design and price, this seems to fit really well, justifying its price at least. I like it. PS: Forgot to ask, for the top spec version, did you notice any throttling?
good job dave ! do a review on the aorus x7 pro v5 with the i7 6820hk it would be pretty interesting because of the processor and the thermal management that they put in to the laptop. :)
I'm not in a market for a new laptop but I watch your videos anyways lmao
***** well I watch it just to keep up with tech and also because his videos are just so crispy
yeah man his video ARE crispy haha
Which laptop should I get??? 900 dollar budget :(
GodPickleYT depends on what you're looking for in a laptop.
same here
I have this laptop but with the gtx 1050ti. I love this laptop, runs anything I throw at it. And it’s nice and thin so I can take it anywhere with me and battery is pretty good too.
i realize Im kinda off topic but does anybody know of a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?
I have no idea why I watch your reviews despite having no intention of buying the product, your production quality and speaking tone just pull me in. Keep it up, you deserve a million subs!

Another 10/10 video. I especially loved the configuration cut showing the prices and options. Keep it up!
I just dont understand how he menaged to get the laptop with 965m when they only give you the option with the 960m on their website
+vukan zarkovic it's there. Check the pre-configs
+MercyHD for twice the price.....
+MercyHD not really, its only a 970 compared to a 965 for an extra 800/900 dollars.
+MercyHD lol xD
I very much loved the part where you have the procedural blueprint effect as you explain the specs. keep it up, very nice. subbed

+Dave Lee can you please tell which is better overall alienware 15or xps 15 (both are 1600 dollars in canada)
+ranjit sidhu I'm not Dave but maybe I could help the Alienware 15 is a gaming laptop and the xps 15 is an ultra portable. If you want to game get the Alienware and if your want it for casual use and maybe light gaming get the xps 15 although know that it will not be good at playing newer games.
thanku so much. can you also suggested any gaming laptop under 1500 CAD?
I'm buying a new gaming rig soon and every time I research a gaming laptop on RUclips you have a vid review on it lol. Good work man, you definitely earned my sub.
Nice video Dave! Even though I'm not looking for a laptop right now, I really enjoy these videos 😊
thanks for watching em
i swear to God the snakes in the video gave me nightmares, in shit scared of snakes so next time could you cut back on them please. But the video is nice and im looking for a laptop for uni which i can still game in
Found this video review great. Not too long, not too short and covers all the information that I needed!
I hope they have a 1060m refresh tbh it's not worth it for the price right now. And a thunderbolt 3 wouldn't hurt.
There won't be a 1060M, Nvidia said that notebooks will run the full 1070 and 1080. IDK about a 1060.
+weirdeyedkid ™ talked to Aorus and they told me there is going to be mobile versions and that rumor was an early rumor there will definitely be mobile so no worries man!

+weirdeyedkid ™ bro the full will only be in desktops and high end laptops. The m will be in most. But yeah the y700 is a great choice dude!
series 10M which will perform like 8 series lul..
congrats on 200,000 subs! can't wait for you to get your play button!
One of the more affordable laptops from hp. Still really like there Spectre, worlds thinnest laptop!
bulgarian stores' sites have started using your videos for product reviews I'm so happy for you :3
Wow! very awesome video bro! How you make that animations of laptop????
after effects

I love this laptop
Kaustubh tripathi Buy it from PayTm for 50-60K only.
Just bought one of these second hand and it is still an epic machine!

Best and most in depth review I have come across so far, which benefitted a lot because I'm planning on purchasing a Omen 17 GTX 1050
I have this laptop it's a beast
i have it too, but mine s getting so hot easly when im playing games espacially when is on the sector

@@juicybullfrog yes mine is the same as yours , so can you explain to me more about this solution how can i do it exactly?

Its always good to have easier access back panel.
Which is better this or the Dell Inspiron 7559 I don't care about price I just want to know overall what's better?
GGG GAMER Razer blade gtx 1060 if you don't care about price :))
Hey. do you have the fan noise problems ? and is it a 2016 ? im looking to buying one
,
The Dell i7,way better
GGG GAMER the omen is better
Your videos are always good! They contain light music which makes me calm lmao
The last gen was much sexier and premium...
I really thank you for posting this review, I really needed some more insight in my decision on buying this laptop and this really helped me in reaching my decision! I'll go for it since in Mexico some stores are adding a 27" display along.
Hi Dave ,I have a question , with the configuration of I5 6300 hq, is that enough to run GTX 970m ? I'm worry about the CPU limited.
depends on the game but most games (95%+) won't be held back by the 6300HQ using the 970M

+Maximilian Tay Anyone can. That's not a challenge that's a treat!
Did you watch this with mobile data?
I think I have Unlimted Data? I have At&a
oh ok
Hi, can u make a review on the latest hp omen which released in mid 2017 with Gpu GTX 1050ti
very concise, easy to understand, and awesome calming voice. good job (y)
HP Omen 15 'vs' MSI PE60 2QE.?
Hey Dave, I see a lot of the new omen owner complaining about:
1.Gaming: the frame rate drops from around 60 fps to 30 fps after awhile of gaming. Temporary fixes: 1) unplugging the ac and then plugging it back in again. 2) Restarting the laptop.
2.Keyboard: Stuck keys (not physically, for example, when you press W, the key bounces back up but you would be still be walking forward in games)
I mean I see a LOT of owners saying this. Have you run into these issues as well?
Hmm. I didn't experience either of those at all. And I've been using this regularly since late June.
***** Thanks a lot Dave! Maybe these are issues for the units in my country only. Btw, nice review as always!
+Dave Lee Hey Dave can you do a review of Dell inspiron 13 7000 (7368) 2-in-1 laptop. There are no reviews on this product at all in youtube!
You are already paying +$900 for a laptop. I would spend the extra *$100-$200 more* for a nicer quality build.
Patrick It's not too bad. They dialed the gamer tat a notch. If you can deal with the red accents it's not too flashy.
If you see this one in person, it's so much worse. Look at one of HP's budget laptops, it's the exact same build. For the same price, you can get the 15 inch Lenovo Y700 (with a lot of options added), which I think is the $1000 gaming laptop to beat at the moment. Patrick I got mine on sale for about $768
Great video Dave ! Congrats on 200k subs
Could you review the latest OMEN by HP 15-ax202na Gaming Laptop gtx1050?
Thanks

Great video. Considering many laptops and love the depth of your videos. Keep it coming.
Dell inspiron 15' 7559 gaming laptop is much better than this also cheaper
which one? also this is not 9gag yt has a edit button to correct your mistake, the more you know
***** you can't Edit in mobile app
Nafeeur Rahman oh ok
And heavier with a worse graphics card comparing with 965m. Cheaper, yes, definitely.
+Allen Tom Well its a gaming laptop so you will need a mouse anyway
love your work bro, keep it up. you are one of the best RUclipsr i have seen yet.😃👍👌
You.. yes you!! you are better than MKBHD. crisp videos, awesome editing and pro music choices.
I love your videos dude! Always pure quality
Truly excellent review! Thank you!
Amazing job, i love your videos, international cut, clear and complete
what an excellent review .. thanks Dave
Cool graphics and VFX! Great quality keep on with the excellent job!
I know how late to come back to this review.
I was considering this laptop for a while. and I think I'll get it (it's relatively a good upgrade over my current laptop)
I just upgraded mines to 32 gb of RAM and 1 TB SSD. It runs so perfectly now
I prefer the old design and I don't know why they changed it! it was so unique and stylish
Congrats on 200K subs! But the older omen looks much sexier imo, and its price has really come down a lot! Snagged one for the same price as this one! But I admit I do miss a good old SATA bay and upgradable RAM..
Hi! Dave i am a big fan of your truth reviews

Dave!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whats your wallpaper dude! Can you just post your wallpapers somewhere? They are usually awesome!
Would be brilliant to see you review the new Omen with the 1070
Please keep uploading ur video. I really enjoy watching ur videos although i dont really need to get a new laptop. Anw, here is a friendly comment. All ur videos are great, but i prefer the old content of review that you usually do rather than this new content.

Hey Dave there's a rumor about an HP Omen laptop with an RX 460 GPU in it
I was considering on buying it but I want your review and out look on it
i really like your reviews on your channel
I've come across and watched a lot of other Laptop reviewers but I like how you put your experience with the product in to your video reviews
more power to you
All these people rocking with cool laptops like XPS 13 while I'm just sitting here with my Acer Aspire 4750G from six years ago lol.
Still holding up in 2018 definitly was worth buying
Dave ur videos are great and vry vry helpful, keep making more videos and plz for any laptop compatible for gaming plz do but 1-2 min gameplay of latest games.
Awesome review and video quality! I'm a HP Fan but I'm not excited with this new model. Anyway, it seems ok for those who doesn't wanna spend too much for top gamer laptop.
Damn i remember when I first watched this video. I still have it and it’s still doing pretty decent.
I think it would be awesome if you start talking about the bloatware on these laptops. I have had bad experiences with bloatware In the past and I think it would be great to know which of these has the least intrusive bloat
Hey Dave what do you do with all the laptops you have? You know, the ones that you review, what do you do with them?
I actually liked the trapezoid design. Kinda hope they bring that back.
Great review as always Mr. Lee, thumbs up :D. Would it be possible for you do one of the new Asus gaming laptops please?
i give a sub to any video I watch that genuinely helps me -- this video genuinely helped me
I fucking love your reviews Dave I really do
Hi Dave. Nice review btw. Is it a fingerprint magnet?
Great video(as always) Dave! You must heard me yesterday:) For someone like me who is looking for a balance between gaming performance, slim design and price, this seems to fit really well, justifying its price at least. I like it.
PS: Forgot to ask, for the top spec version, did you notice any throttling?
Nice review as always! Will you also test the updated Alienware 13 with OLED Display? Thinkpad X1 Yoga OLED would also be cool :)
Your videos are very Crisp. Excellent 🎥🎥📹📹
good job dave ! do a review on the aorus x7 pro v5 with the i7 6820hk it would be pretty interesting because of the processor and the thermal management that they put in to the laptop.
:)
Who still has this in 2022???
Me and still works really fine
this is a really good review
why do they ditch Optical drives? I am still using CD
Biggest complaint I have not mentioned in the video: There is only one brightness setting for the keyboard backlight
