Like I said above, all of these vegan, plant based staple foods for weight loss have been key on my journey! If it wasn't for them, I don't think I would have been able to lose 45 lbs in 10 months as easily as I have. These staples are also perfect if you are following The Starch Solution or The McDougall Program for Maximum Weight Loss. These plant based foods are also great to have if you are a beginner to the plant based world and if you are looking to lose weight on a plant based diet.

Y’all she’s right! Her cheese sauce IS the best recipe out there! I’ve made them all. It’s super easy and super cheesy! ☺️
Oh my gosh, thank you for this comment. I literally just slathered it all over some potatoes 😋🙌🏻 So happy you like it
Agreed! Just made it today again! I put it on potatoes and broccoli. I love how easy and flavorful it is!

“Beans beans good for the heart, the more you eat the more you 💨 so eat those beans in every meal, raise that leg and let em squeal”
Haha omg dying laughing!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Loved how you phrased that 😊
My Dad always said: "Beans beans the musical fruit, the more you toot. The more you toot the better you feel, so better eat beans with every meal". Lol
😅😄🤣🤣
I love potatoes 🥔!! I just discovered your channel tonight and what I appreciate about you is that you are discussing “satisfying foods”. This is so important in my transition from being a meat eater to a plant based person. I got passed my 1st week! Wish me luck!
Thank you and that’s awesome! You can totally do this! 👊🏻
Congratulations!
Your brilliant! You literally have kept me going these last few weeks when sometimes I think I want to quit and can’t do this I just head on over to your channel! You are Sooo inspiring 😀🥰
Oh this makes me feel so special! Thank you for letting me know. That is exactly why I do this. Love sharing what’s worked for me and hope it helps others. Best of luck to you ❤️
Omg I'm so happy you said quit w that cauliflower rice baloney! Just eat rice!!!!!
Haha for real! I get so aggravated when I see that stuff. I mean I love cauliflower, but come on 😂
I feel the same way about zucchini spirals (zoodles) in place of pasta. I’d much rather just eat corn, lentil or even whole wheat pasta!

Thankyou so much for your fantastic content. Your advice has really hit home with me and after to -ing and fro-ing with a vegan but sneaky processed diet I have finally turned the corner and have stuck to this way of eating for 2 months without missing the foods I usually crave! I LOVE your cheese sauce, It's a game changer for me. I love the way you spell out to embrace the simplicity of eating. I am thrilled as I have lost 3 kilos but just feel so much happier and healthier. Thankyou and keep up the great work. Chris, Australia 🙏💖

I *finally* tried your vegan cheese sauce. I have been so disappointed by every cheese sauce out there and I am so freaking happy that I went ahead and tried yours. It is PERFECT. I’m a sauce girl and this will be a life changing staple. Thank you! Yes. Yes.
Hi Tia, just learned of your channel. I am on this path, and still changing trying to ditch the dairy, cheese mainly some meat, and eggs once and a while. I realize I have still been eating high fat plants, too. You are a ray of sunshine, to help me on my journey.
I shared this on my Facebook page. People need to listen!
Awwww that’s so sweet, thank you ❤️
I love how happy you are and your beautiful blue eyes! The white’s of your eyes are sooo white!!
Hello, I am only 1 1/2 weeks into the plant based diet, I have read Chef AJ's book, Volumetrics and now I will be starting to read the Starch Solution that you recommended. This is making a lot of sense to me. I am EATING TONS of potatoes and beans. I was afraid to eat rice at first, lol, you know how we are all brought up to believe it's the enemy! NOW I base my meals around mainly these three starches and add 1 or 2 cups of veggies and 1 cup of fruit. I MUST say YOU ARE ALL right. I am feeling SO SATISFIED and healthy and this is only 1 1/2 weeks in! The weight is coming off slow, but the health benefits, I am losing so MUCH NASTY belly FAT!! Hurray for VEGGIES, FRUIT and STARCH! I so far, do not miss meat, which is funny because we use to all base our meals around it. So it's becoming easier it eat this way with THESE videos YOU and CHEF AJ post. Helping us make yummy food to be able to STICK to this WAY of eating is what will help the MOST.
THANKS for all the GREAT videos, KEEP them going.
You have turned me onto using the nutritional yeast and soy sauce or coco amino over my stir fry veggies, it is so delicious. THANK YOU ❤️
Yummy 🙌🏻
You are AWESOME!!! Learned so much from you today 😊 thanks so much 💙

Hi do you know if the cheese sauce have this sweetness taste? Because I made the cheese sauce and it’s kind of sweet
@@miyalopez5925 it shouldn’t be sweet. Not sure why it would be. Are you sure you out the correct ingredients (just because some spices kind of look like other ones).

Great tips! Enjoyed the video 🙂
Thank you and thanks for the comment :)
Omg!! Boil 1 1/2c water with a chopped up large potato with red lentils. Mash it all together when done - add white vinegar and dill and top it with pumpkin seeds 💕 (it’s based on a skordalia but I leave out the oil)
Love this channel, so informative.👌
Thank you so much
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, it’s my pleasure
Awesome video. Oats in any form are one of my staples.
Such a fantastic staple! Oats are awesome!
Your skin is amazing! Radiant! I am so jealous!
Thank you ☺️
You have such a wonderful personality!! I have all of the same staples...except the cheese sauce. I am on the struggle bus, but you lifted my spirit. 💗
You’ll get the hang of it! Get that cheese sauce my friend 😋🙌🏻
And thank you so much ❤️
Your cheese sauce is the BEST!!!! Thank you 🙏🏻
Yay! So happy you like. It’s my pleasure
LOL! I'm eating beans/lentils in my post-workout breakfast grain bowl as I watch this (topped with sweet potato "pudding"). Beans are also fabulous as a "binder" in flatbreads and sweet treats like simple oat "cookies" or fruit-sweetened "brownies!"
That’s great!
Omg you are hysterical. Just found your channel yay
❤️ thank you for being here!
Thank you! I have exactly the same staples!!! I do have frozen hash browns in my freezer all the time!
That fantastic!
You got me so excited for potatoes 😍 I habe been rice and pasta heavy since it was easier but now experimenting with oats and potato. By the way purple sweet potato tastes amazing by itself with just salt and cinnamon 😍 I struggle with orange sweet potatoes not being sweet enough without sugar but the purple ones need no sugar. I also used to not like beans and ate only since my husband likes them. Now I am in love n trying different types. There's a million ways to have beans and rice. By the way try cooking beans with some garlic, onion citantro paste called "sofrito", tomate paste, garlic salt, cumin, green olives and butternut squash. 😍😍🍲 It's pretty much the healthy version of puertorican "habichuelas guisadas" or stewed beans. I change up the bean and it's a different meal everytime. Also mix in fresh cilantro when your rice is cooked. Learned that from chipotle 😂 makes such a huge difference.
All sounds so amazing! Yum!
What a great video! TFS!
Thank you so much!
Love this video. I have the same staples (+ oatmeal in addition to everything you said) so this lets me know I’m on the right track. 😀
Such great staples 😋 you totally got this 👊🏻

You are the cutest. Love this video 🥰

I’m trying to transition to this lifestyle for my health and to lose 30 pounds. Just had my fourth child and I’m almost 40 so the weight doesn’t want to go easily. Thank you for your videos! I always look forward to them and appreciate the simple approach. I’m already horrible at meal planning in general so I’m trying to get better at it and do this for myself in the process. I made your cheese sauce and I love it!😊
You’re going to get it! Don’t give up...and it doesn’t sound like you will. I know you can do it, I was in the same boat (minus 2 kids). I turn 40 in less than 2 weeks so we are close to the same age. It’s going to happen friend ❤️ best of luck to you.

Gosh, you can really tell you lost even more weight since the ones I was just watching of you in June! Wow. You look amazing. This really works for you and you look like you feel amazing, Praying I will have a similar result. I have more to lose but I know it’s just going to be so much healthier for me to eat this way. I am healing my body not getting skinny!!! Did you have to do anything to help with gas or bloating when you first started?
Have you watched Plantiful Kiki?
Btw... I am from Mobile, AL so I went to New Orleans a time or two! 😊 They do have the best food. We retired and moved to NE Tn a couple of years ago. Enjoying the Mountain View.
Thank you so much. Just stay focused on healing and you’ll get there. As far as the gas, gas is a good thing. It means your gut is working and doing it’s job 😀 it’ll even out eventually.

Jackfruit
Bananas ( for banana ice cream)
Apples
Almond butter
Black beans
Sweet potatoes

This was a great video!! How do you usually cook the frozen broccoli? The same way you would do fresh broccoli? Does the frozen turn out mushy?
Thank you so much. I usually cook it in my instant pot. It’s usually not mushy when I cook it for 2 minutes, 3 or more it is for sure. Sometimes I also put it in the microwave for 5 - 7 minutes. A pot too is always great if you’re making a rice dish
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT VIDEO IVE SEEN AS A NEW PERSON TO PLANT BASED....I LOVED EVERY MOMENT. SO HONEST....U WANT RICE EAT RICE LOL....
😂 awww thank you. I do my best to keep it real ❤️
I batch cook rice or quinoa in the pressure cooker and portion it out into baggies and throw it in the freezer. I think I could live on rice and beans. 😊
I'm the same way - I literally couls eat only beans and rice forever I think LOL Love the batch cooking idea!
Cheese sauce?a staple? Yesssssssssssssss!
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Just starting this journey and found you thankful I did. I have a question about the rice do we need to worry about arsenic? Whats your take on it? Tyfs these must haves
Try to get rice with the smallest risk with arsnic
Just a note about beans. For physical reasons I can no longer shop in a store. So I am at the mercy of the store and what I can order online and have delivered. I live in a big city and only one grocery store carries low sodium beans online. That is black beans at double the price of a regular can. So my solution is to rinse the beans very well after opening the can. I realize some sodium has been absorbed by the beans and cannot be rinsed off so I never add salt to any dishes I make with canned beans.
No that’s perfect. If you’re to rinsing them your okay
I love potatoes 🥔 too but how in the world can I air fry or bake potatoes 🥔 without oil ? Help me somebody, anybody, love this video! Thank you
I love to just bake in the over with lots of seasoning and adding my yummy low fat cheese sauce helps with the flavor so much. If you don’t want that, taco sauce on top is yummy, hummus, etc
@@HealthyVeganMama ok thanks a bunch!
My favorite item ever is the happy farms chorizo crumbles.
I add feta cheese, onions and cilantro and corn tortillas and it's pretty much my favorite meal ever lol.
So great you are using the plant “meat.” It’s so great to have a favorite meal you can repeat 😀
@@HealthyVeganMama I agree! I sometimes eat it 2-3x a week and hoping I do not tire of it lol
Hi! Where can I find white miso paste? I’ve been looking in all our stores and haven’t found any yet. I really want to make your cheese sauce.
Hi there. You can actually find it on Amazon.
Hey, what all was in that chickpea/rice bowl? What kinds of seasoning or sauce did you use? Looks so good!😋
It’s chickpeas, rice, any veggies, nutritional yeast and soy sauce. Use some of the chickpea juice if it’s a no sodium can. If not use a little veggie broth
Oooo i need lentils...got my chickpeas boiling...sweet potatoe baking...wild rice in the rice cooker...and i got my victorian vegan alfredo sauce roasting with garlic and cherry tomatoes...its really hard though because I have to watch my carbs and fats
Rice is good, y’all! 😆 That was so cute. 😁
hehehe
Puertorican here. I have survived this easily with rice and beans. Recently I have been adding chopped butternut squash into my beans 😍 love! So half my plate is white rice and stewed beans and the other half nonstarch veggie like broccoli and salad. I am getting stuffed!

I love you. Thank you.
It’s my pleasure ❤️
Have you read Dr Fuhrmans book ,he really bummed me out about rice .i do still eat some a few times a week trying to find a company that grows rice differently some say California rice but idk
Yes I have and I totally respect his view. However, I don’t fully agree and I did his method about 10 years ago and it wasn’t sustainable for me at all. I find Dr McDougals beliefs much better for me. Both are fantastic ways to live though. Just depends on what works for you.
Red lentils are the best 😊
Aren’t they! Gosh I can’t stop eating them 😂
You're the bomb!
You’re so sweet. Thank you!
My staples are:
1. Garlic
2. Frozen blueberries
3. Oats (Haferflocken)
4. Beans
5. Chopped tomatoes
6. Whole spelt noodles
7. Potatoes (love the taste of sweet potatoes but they are expensive here because it needs being imported)
8. Rice (trying to convert to brown but right now we eat lots of sushi rice and basmati rice)
9. Soymilk, tofu, thempeh, edamame
Reasons I still am 25 kg overweight....
Too much nuts, oil, faux meats, takeout, sugary snacks, chocolate, sweets and Chips. I know it but it's SOOOOOOO hard to stop!

Just unsweet almond milk
Hi!!! Love your videos. Do you squeeze vegan chocolate into your diet at all? That’s my Achilles heel. I’ve been vegan for a long time and trying to lose weight now and doing a lot of what you are doing. But my problem is my sweet tooth.
