    Hi! Thank you for the review. How well would this monitor score, if used on a sim racing setup? I am concerned about response time, mainly. Have you tried Gran Turismo 7, by any chance? Thank you for your reply. Kind regards.

      I haven't tried GT 7 but I played fast-paced FPS games like Doom Eternal and COD and it was really good, didn't feel any latency, of course, OLED panels have faster response time if that's what you highly need, though I really think it was great for gaming and watching, I loved the matte coating and HDR, it's way brighter compared to LG C2

    Between this an oled g8 for work and multimedia content and casual gaming, which you think is better? Thanks a lot

    • @TECHOSAUR
      @TECHOSAUR  Год назад +3

      I haven't the G8 but I've used an OLED TV for productivity and work and I wasn't quite happy because OLED are meant for dynamic image not static like what usually the case when working, I was constantly worried about a burn-in since I kept it on static image for sometime, I just didn't feel so secured about using an OLED for prolonged working but sure now all OLED monitors and TVs have measurements to protect against burn-in like by dimming or pixel refresh but I still think that OLED are more enjoyable for entertainment like gaming and watching
      With the G7 43" , since it's mini LED so you don't need to worry about burn-in or anything, you can throw at it any task while being confident nothing to happen
      I don't know about you, but I personally get anxious about my stuff so having an OLED increased that feeling

    Hello brother, been looking for a display but struggling to choose one, i like bright panels with clear and vivid highlights, would you recommend the G7 43" for $470 with tax and shipping fees, or C2 48" for $740 inc. tax and shipping fees, or samsung odyssey neo G8 oled ultrawide monitor for $810?
    Is there really that big of a difference between both displays in regards to picture quality? i mainly play singleplayer games, and i dont really know how common short term image retention and permanent burn-in is really, if it is indeed common then im really afraid to get the C2 since there is only three months of warranty for it from where i live.

    • @TECHOSAUR
      @TECHOSAUR  7 месяцев назад +1

      I never tried the G8 OLED ultra-wide, but I can say for the G7 Neo 43" and C2, I have both, and in my opinion, if the warranty is just three months, it's totally scary to go with the C2. Here, it's two years, and sometimes burn-in appears after two years, so it's not enough. Now, PC monitor companies like MSI and Asus are extending their OLED panel warranties to three years, which is good for users. I think with three months, it's risky to go with the C2, but if you are careful, it might last you over five years. It depends mostly on your usage, prolong static image hurt it more. If you mainly use it for gaming and entertainment, the risk drops significantly. Also, it has features to refresh pixels and care for the OLED panel, so it's good to activate them.
      As far as image quality and color accuracy, it's definitely better on the C2, as well as response time, which is useful if you use it for FPS games. You will feel it's more responsive to your actions.
      But for brightness, the G7 Neo is way better, given it has mini-LED, and I can't stress enough how bright they can get those little guys, if I put both the C2 and G7 Neo side by side with maximum brightness, the C2 feels as if it's in eco mode compared to the G7 Neo, but unfortunately the g7 has bad viewing angles and horrible ghosting effect like if u scroll down text you will start to see text smearing and it's just too annoying, but in game it's quite inevident, I haven't felt any ghosting in games or watching media, just Documents and internet browsing
      Overall to me personally I would pick the g7 neo 43 given i work a lot with static images like coding, office and video editing as u can imagine

      @@TECHOSAUR Very informative, appreciate the input.
      Im aware that OLED completely annihilates every LCD panel when it comes to responsiveness and image clarity and black level's, but again is there really night and day difference when gaming on OLED C2 compared to G7 43" as some have claimed?
      Are they even comparable?
      I really like the size of G7, but I wish it had glossy finish, but oh well.
      I might as well risk it and go with the C2 OLED if the experience is significantly better on it compared to G7.
      Thank you again for responding to my comment.

    love this monitor! it comes with some small flaws but when better firmware comes out it should be alot better. no problems on my end gaming or browsing web. i only get some ghosting if i am scrolling really fast but its not a deal breaker for me at all as that is the only place i see any kind of ghosting but when im scrolling slowly or not at all everything is very crisp. you might need a better camera though if you are reviewing monitors though. the gaming aspect of review was kind of shoddy and does not do it justice at all

      in the gaming, HDR Tone mapping, check if turning off HGiG helps, because on unsupported games and in the PS5 dashboard it dims down when you have it on, also check that you have adjusted the HDR on the PS5 in the picture settings, the sun logo should be almost invisible in all 3 steps, also you can try my picture settings and hope that helps, if the problem persists try it on PC or another device
      for me HDR works pretty well on PS5 and PC just the ghosting effect is annoying for me when scrolling down pages

      @TECHOSAUR  Год назад +1

      Thanks for asking, i forgot to mention that it doesn't have G-Sync and not even G-Sync compatible, so i have it deactivated, if you have AMD GPU it supports Free sync premium pro
      But honestly my LG C2 42 has G-Sync compatible but it never stopped games from tearing so it was almost useless, and had vsync specially on FPS games, you know that G-Sync compatible Is a driver thing for displays that has AMD Free sync, underneath it's free sync, the real G-Sync is an actual hardware that make any display quite expensive ane sadly i never had any display that is originally G-Sync and not compatible ...

    • @insertnamehere4419
      @insertnamehere4419 5 месяцев назад

      @@TECHOSAUR Why do you have it deactivated. VRR is in a state now where VRR is VRR. It doesnt need offical "Gsync" compatibility. Im using this monitor with a 4080 and Gsync without issue. You even admit its just VRR under the hood and real Gsync is a hardware module so why disable it.

    How is for work? I saw some negative comments people are saying theres ghosting and text are unreadable. Can you confirm that ?

    • @TECHOSAUR
      @TECHOSAUR  Год назад +3

      For work it's actually good, it's bright, colors are very alive and text is crisp, it doesn't suffer from OLED issues like auto brightness limiting or dimming static images , those issues often happened with me while doing office stuff
      while for sure I've noticed text ghosting when scrolling fast in pages, but in gaming or watching it's unnoticeable, i played FPS games and never felt any of that, it happens mostly in scrolling fast through detailed shapes such as text or patterns like mesh and fabric, but using standard response time gave me the least of that effect, also adjusting the shadow details option in the picture to +3 made the ghosting a bit lighter that it would reduce that effect, that's probably the only downside to this monitor but there are really also good sides to it for example colors are so impressive and vivid , bright and very uniformed, unlike many previous odyssey monitors I've tested, this has the best quality of control checks for example white uniformity and stuck pixels which were two things I've always looked for in the odyssey monitors since they often had problems of quality check and i returned bunch of them due to that!
      but this one is clear from those at leas
      The weird ghosting exists and I'm hopeful Samsung would release an update to at least minimize it in some way but the monitor in my opinion has a lot of potential
      At the end you can always return it in case something doesn't work out for you, i didn't want to mention this in video because I've already read many negativity around this monitor on Reddit and i think it's not as bad, it's not flawless but definitely a step up in the Odyssey monitors family!

      A lot of angry people post reviews based on prior generations or versions of a G7 or Neo G7 monitor. Officially, when tested this monitor isn't OLED, but shy of that, it is better than any other.

    • @TECHOSAUR
      @TECHOSAUR  Год назад +2

      @@EbonySeraphim Indeed, i dont think being OLED is necessary better for desk office, my LG C2 43 died just after 5 months, even though LG replaced the display and now its working but i didnt feel happy doing office work on it anyway, it dims on static screens while working on a document or coding, also the ABL makes the brightness so dynamic and weird for a PC, but for gaming and entertainment it's perfect
      it comes down to what you are looking, i think the Odyssey Neo G7 43" is a good choice for office,gaming,entertainment, all purposes in a super-sized format monitor, yes the ghosting is an issue but its not present in all scenarios, its worth to try it yourself and then decide to keep it or not instead of just listening to others complains on reddit, before buying it i've read all those comments and i wanted to try it myself, the purpose of making this video was to try spread some positivity around this monitor, i personally like the Odyssey design language and this has improved upon them with an elegant, slim design and good build quality but there's still a room for improvment that Samsung will need to take
