I have been using this program quite a bit since my coil was replaced. I found a 1910 Canadian sterling silver dime, a 1938 murc, a silver ring, and an 1899 Indian head penny all in about a month's time. Working out great! Ty!
Scott, I received my Deus II last week and already have 30 hours on it. I loaded up the “coin” program you suggested and WOW!! I’ve listened to others say that the adjustments are dependent upon a users area, weather and oil conditions. Well, I tried several of the set programs over the first 25 hours, all at the same three parks and when I loaded your suggested “coin” program it was a huge difference and successful too. Thanks. I’m of course gonna tweek other program settings and see what works best for me. Thanks again, I really like your suggestion so far. Jamie

Thanks for all the helpful videos and insight. I am new to the Deus, although have used the nox and most recently the legend. I had a similar program I had set up on the legend that not only was good for coins but everything. The only thing I wish is that each tone break had its own volume control so you could make some tones fainter and not all at the same volume threshold.
I am really very grateful to your program for coins since I have obtained excellent results. Now, my concern is that I would be having difficulties obtaining steel coins with nikel since it detects them like a nail or ferrous trash.
Sorry Juan you will have to try and do some tests on them and perhaps adjust one of the tone breaks to allow them in. We don't have coins like that here in the states.
Best of luck! But if you want my advice use Park for awhile first (2 or 3 weeks) then setup the coin program. So many people jump right into the custom stuff and they never learn their machine and get frustrated. Just my 2 cents but I think you will enjoy the D2.
I use a similar program that I came up with. Believe it or not a smacked out a 1900 Morgan dollar, 1907 barber quarter and a 1918 standing liberty quarter. In one afternoon. The next day I went back to double check and picked up a 1917 Merc. This detector is working amazing. Today we hit up a park that we have detected for several years and managed to pull out a few more wheaties and some other odds and ends. It was only 25 decrees F so I couldn't stand it long. But yes the Deus2 is amazing out some great targets
Ive been using this program for the last 2 weeks. Ive been using it in relatively new City parks specifically to look for coins and to get used to the sounds, since Im new to XP machines. The only changes I made was to add a few notches in the areas where no US coins ring up. Spent probably 5 hours total and have found nearly $20 in clad change along with a few silver quarters and dimes. Actually I set yup two exact programs, exactly the same but one has the Horseshoe screen with PWM and the other has Square tones with the XY screen. That way I can quickly switch back and forth between the two to check a really good sounding signal with the XY if I am trying to decide to dig or not. It’s been working great so far, other than the pull tabs are killing me because they ring up exactly in the same range as nickels and I haven’t figured out how to differentiate between the two yet. I know the XY helps with a hook on the PT but I haven’t found enough nickels to notice that difference yet. And crushed cans come up in the low to mid 80’s that occasionally trick me into thinking its a penny. Great program, thanks. Going to try this new one as is for rings and relics soon since Im now remembering the coin ranges.
Awesome Jerry thats how you learn this machine keep at it. One thing I will warn you regarding the rings you will have to dig just about every signal that looks like a pull tab, rings hit in that junk range so it is what it is. There is no secret sauces to finding rings you just have to dig everything like you do with most other machines.
Jerry, what exactly did you notch out. I'm use to 3 tones and notching out almost everything but the normal coins #s but I'm going to try this to learn the tones also.
Downloaded the most recent XP Deus 2 update and entered your coin program. Hope to try it out and let you know how it performs in Missouri. Diggin Darrell
Installed!. Give it a try in the am if its not pouring down. Thx again. Still admiring that Half Dollar Walking Liberty I pulled out with your previous program.
Hello, thanks for putting this program together. I'm just curious, have you checked if this works with trimes, 1/2 dimes and gold coins as well? Or just mainly a basic really good regular coin program? I've been hitting gold rush sites lately and was hoping it hits those as well? Thanks for all of your great videos! Oh, and 1 last thing, so far I haven't been seeing the depth that I get from my equinox, I'm curious if this program helps with the depth? Hopefully, anyone with knowledge can chime in. Again, great videos! Oh, and one more thing! Beautiful lab at the end, I miss mine! Best dog ever!
Hey Jimmyzr1 trimes will ring up between 75-76 maybe 77 from my air tests so yes this will pick them up. As far as 1/2 dime good question. I didn't have one of those to test against so I don't know the target id. But realistically it will hit on all U.S. coins. If there is something that is hitting within the 2nd tone break and you have the frequency of that tone break down to 101 Hz you will miss it. Thats why I suggest bumping that tone break frequency up if you are relic hunting or if there is something you want to find that would hit within those target IDs. Hope that helps and thank you for the kind words about Daisy. She has been a sweetheart but has a bunch of health issues so we are on borrowed time. Thanks again!
@@MentalMetal I’ve been using your coin program since last year the week you released it. Some minor adjustments. Found 32 silvers last year on it and 18 this year so far. Once I updated to V1 and added it wasn’t the same. Even general just lacks performance in my opinion. I’ve lost depth and just seems subpar. I’m also almost all programs encountering false signals. I’m sure some of this is user error but frustrated.
Sorry for the late response but joining me in Patreon is better place to chat w/me (as you know) :-) I try to get to every comment but its becoming really hard as of late.
I did some tweaks but can slaw and bottle caps are my nemesis with this detector. Btw lead sinkers ring up at 85-87. I still haven’t found a nickel but I’m hunting some pretty trashy sites, local parks etc. Do you have a program for trashy site infested with can slaw, bottle caps and pull tabs?
I don’t know if this would help your coin program or not, but Calabash Digger and another RUclipsr discovered that in anything other than Full Tones, VDI numbers are averaged when 2 targets are next to each other. Especially, when next to iron. He emailed Deus, who confirmed that it was designed that way. Calabash showed a 4 inch mercury dime, with an iron nail next to it. Above ground, the dime (alone) came in at 90. In Full Tones, with the mail and dime buried 4 inches, the VDI read 88-89. Buried, with 5 tones, it showed a VDI bouncing 55-89. BUT, when you turn the Silencer to 0, it quite averaging and gave a VDI of 88-89. I would think a Silencer of 0 would be better for your coin shooting. In the test, he ran iron volume settings of 3 and 1, with the same result. Deus 2 version .7
Thanks Kenny I do watch his videos when isn't ranting at everyone. I'm not into all the drama over there but I'll have to give this a try. Now that I have my test garden that will be an easy test. Thanks for sharing.
I think I did it, Im gonna go out and try in my test garden now. Well after trying in my test garden, the jury is still out. I'll get back after some time in the field.
Great program. Forgive me being new to the machine. It sounds like this will hear every thing in coin mode, or will it just hit the nickel and penny and above? On my Nox I only have it hearing pennies and above it works great for silver. In my soil buffalos and wheats are usually in bad shape so I stopped hunting for them but of course some of the pennies ring up in the dime range which i ok as it tells me I’m in old ground. . Would you be able to come up with a program for us silver coin guys with no Nickel?
Hi Scott…I started using this program. Worked really well! Unfortunately, I had an issue with the remote and the distributor sent me a new one. Trying to find a video on how to pair the coil. None exist. Maybe you could make a quick video on this topic?…would be helpful to see so I can get back to using your program! Thx!
Thanks man! appreciate you taking time to make this video.. I am a coin shooter here in the states and I currently have a Nox 800.. getting the Deus 2 is definitely tempting.. how do you feel about transitioning from The Equinox 800 to the Deus 2?
I think its more of a personal preference. If you are coming over from a Nox then I would say Square. If you switching over from a XP Deus (original) then PWM would probably be your preference.
Hi Scott - can you do a video on how to pair another coil for the Deus 2 and how to switch between coils easily? I can’t seem to find a good video. I have the 9” coil but want to get the 11” coil. I’m not sure how to add the new 11” coil without messing up the 9” coil pairing. Thx!!
right now I only have the 11" so I couldn't show it. You won't mess up the other coil because you have serial number for both and once you enter it into the RC it will remain in there so you can pick between the two.
I got totally lost when you were going over your famous coin program for the Deus 2. Could you just make a list for the coin program of all the options and menus that you put into that program so I can transfer those values into my Deus 2, please?
I have another question. I don’t have this machine yet, and I am wondering why your coin program is based on Park instead of Deep High Conductor? Oops, one more. When you referred to setting it up in relic mode, were you referring to using these settings in the Relic Program, or the same program, but using it to search for relics?
Hey Scott. Question. You say. You’ll guarantee they’ll find “American” coins. Will this program work for all countries coins? Or haha. Just curious. I’m in Canada. And I’m guessing most coins would react the same from country to country? (: thanks in advance
Russ I'm sure it will find other coins from other countries. I only have the U.S. ones to test. There may be some that need a little adjusting on the tone breaks but maybe not.
hi thanks for your video I also printed out the paper instructions , following the paper instructions I get to Audio response no problem but then it says Iron Audio and cannot find anywhere I also watched the video and couldn't find what am I doing wrong ? no mention in video of Iron audio only iron volume I set it up according to the video once again thanks for your videos and instructions they help a lot
I thought you were supposed to go into the program like park make your changes and then save it into another slot the way you’re doing it you have to save it twice once before you make the changes and once after
You can do either way, it does not matter if you save it twice or not. It may matter to some and if it does then, yes I could have done it the way you mentioned to save yourself a click or 2. Thank you or pointing that out.
How do I get to the tone break menu, I can't find it on my ATP.....? Let's go Brandon's inflation plan led me to buying the butchers scraps today at the grocery store....had me a $3 turkey wing while watching your video...mmmm ...mmmm good!
@@MentalMetal Yesterday i was out on a ploughed field and tested a little with the Fulltones. The Fulltones are nearly unusable in the Multifrequenz modes. Lots loss of depth, and scratchy sounds. I stored 2 programms, sensi FT and Deus Mono with the same settings. I switched between the two programs and my conclusion was sobering! For example, i got a signal in Sensi FT, quiet and very scratchy not worth diggin. Than i swichted to my Deus mono, loud and clear non ferrous! i dug it and it was non ferrous!! Ive done this experiment for about to 2,5 hours and always the same result. Without contamination it is a little bit better, but in a normal field it is terrible. At home i tested the machine in air. A silver coin in Mono frequenz 35cm and the same with any multi frequenz program only about 25cm. Settings always the same, Reactivity Sens usw.... Btw, i ran Version 0.7, but in 0.6 it was the same dilemma. Greetings from Germany - Bavaria
Kevin, if you end up in iron and really trashy sites, I would increase the reactivity 2.5 or maybe 3 but honestly, switch over to Deus Fast for those conditions. My program will work but you will have to pay attention to the numbers and listen carefully to the tones. If you increase the tone break 2 frequency to something other than 100 Hz then it will be difficult but not impossible. It takes some time on the machine to learn to hunt through iron and trash.
@hubsi 52 Greetings my friend. There will be conditions where multi-freq will not be optimal and it sounds like you an area where you will need stay in mono for that permission and there is nothing wrong with that. As far as full tones, I personally never liked full tones with the original Deus and still don't in the D2. My brain hurts after awhile but I do like 3 or 5 tones and I the "square" sounds over the PWM (default) some will state that you can get more information out of PWM and they maybe right but my brain prefers the other sound and I have found plenty of good targets now with it. One thing to try with multi-freq is try lowing your sensativity down to 90 and see if that helps with your full tones. I'll be redoing my test bed to run more experiments and might some better ideas for you in the future.
Ok so I made it up to the tone break. When I select the arrow to drop it down and change it to 581 my RC automatically goes to coil. Do I need to have the coil near me when I do this. Also trying to figure out how to keep it from resetting so quick I noticed yours does not reset so my RC changes like every 10 seconds or something it changes back.
Sorry I have no idea what is going on the way you are describing it. Maybe try going off of this might help more. Sometimes I may not be making things clear in the video. mentalmetaldetecting.com/how-to-setup-a-coin-program-for-the-xp-deus-ii/

I’ve got something similar set up in Deep HC. It just smash’s coins.
Awesome!
I’ll have to try this I’ve tried Rattle heads
Let me know what you think, I'm not sure what Rattle heads refers to but ok :-)
Hey Scott. Question.
@@MentalMetal none the less. I added it to my deus now. (: really like watching your vids. (: thanks for the helpful videos.
You are welcome my friend. Thank you.
hi thanks for your video I also printed out the paper instructions , following the paper instructions I get to Audio response no problem but then it says Iron Audio and cannot find anywhere I also watched the video and couldn't find what am I doing wrong ? no mention in video of Iron audio only iron volume I set it up according to the video once again thanks for your videos and instructions they help a lot
iron audio = iron volume sorry i wasn't using the right terminology.
@@MentalMetal np once I watched the video again and followed step by step it made sense
Chris, I see no x-y screen. Are you using it?
My unit has no sound outof speaker .. tried everything you think it's a bad unit or is there a option
Try reloading it with the current software update and see if that fixes it. Otherwise, you may have to send it back.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
thanks!

So far I don't like square tones (probably because I came from Deus 1). But PWM seems more nuanced.
Thanks Rich square isn't for everyone. Some prefer the PWM.
#yourareamess LOL
Does this program work the same with the new update?
I answered that in the description but yes it should work just fine if not better.
Is this program for somewhat cleaner sites? What if I get into a iron and trashy site? Same settings and program?
SECOUND tone brake to high will not get small gold coin here in uk works well thankyou
Thanks Carl yep its tested here in the U.S. so no telling how it work over there.
it is similar to the magnet program
I don't know what the magnet program is so I'll just have to take your word for it.
Wish screen do you prefer with this program?X,y? Numbers?
Depends but in a lot trash or iron I prefer using it. It's not full proof. The deeper the target it will not register very well on the XY.
Lots of settings
Lots of capability too :-)
Ok so I made it up to the tone break.
Figured it out
