Xbox360 is never waste of money. Games and gaming were so much more fun back in the 360 era than today
Yup, when companies didn't do all the dlc shite.
@@RetroGamerVX they did DLCs back then but it was done right unlike today
@@Romanj28yeah, they basically made a good full game before selling so when you bought that disc you usually got the final product
Good Games can be found cheap to for the 360 plenty of triple A titles for under $20
@@UndeadOutLaw68 True! Xbox 360 console is the only console I ever collected games for, still buyng when ever there is some 360 gems for cheap price.
First system I ever bought with my own money back in high school. I got it on a Black Friday deal a year before the x box one came out. I miss it very much and have been thinking about buying one again. The xbox 360 has an impressive catalog compared to the preceding generations
Xbox360 games / discs are quite cheap these days. I think it's an excellent system to go for. Especially the newer - non original - models which are a lot more dependable than the original model was with the RROD.
Yup that's why we didn't buy an origional yhat was sitting next to it, at the same price.
Yes spot on FIFA games are cheap pick them up far 50p up words

I found an Elite 120gb at goodwill for $10. Legendary console and it is worth it.
Absolutely Steve, more Xbox 360 stuff is always worth watching.
Thanks Ian, plans fir dome fin live shows with a new format.
You are absolutely right about the 360. It is not far behind the current consoles. Just look at Crysis 2, it's beautiful I personally would go so far to say that the Xbox 360 is the best console. Not graphic wise. But game wise. Look at the most blockbuster of the Xbox One area. Most are new iterations of games from the 360: Far Cry, Forza, Halo... Some of the greats were beefed up and re-relrased on the new consoles: GTA4, BioShock, Halo, Dead Island.
Granted, the Dying Light franchise alone is worth buying the Xbox One X.
But the 360 was the hight of the Halo area. And probably has the most nostalgia.
I've still got my original XBox 360 ... red-ringed three times over the years but Microsoft did fix it, for free, each time. Last console of theirs I ever brought though 🤘👽🤘
Yup, cost them over 1.15 billion dollars but they knew if they didn't, the xbox brand would die.
Best thing about Owning a 360 in 2023 is RUclips still also Opens on It it’s abit finnicky by having to sometimes close it and open it up again to make it load but it works so that’s A plus still in my books
I bought one for the sole reason of playing Burnout 3 and the old underground games. All and all about 100 bucks. An absolute steal to re-live my childhood
Only bought the Xbox 360 as I couldn't get my hands on the latest PlayStation in 2008 and they were delays on the latest Gran Turismo.
Well 14 years later, still got my 360 with no regrets and no ring of death. At the time I was satisfied with the Forza Motorsport series and Project Gotham racing so wasn't in a hurry to get back to Gran Turismo. I'll just pop to my mates to play the game on his PlayStation if I felt the need.. 😜
I found a launch model (pre-HDMI) at the dump last year, disc drive stuck a bit, but after finxing that it worked perfectly. But I did mod one a while ago, just so I could I could play that cancelled GoldenEye remaster on it! :)
I didn't know there was a pre-hdmi, I'll keep an eye out for them :) what mod did you do and how do I get that game please? Should be worth a look :)
@@RetroGamerVX yeah the launch models were VGA and Component only!
the mod lets you put any game on the hard drive essentally. goldeneye should be online everywhere, but if you cant find it, send me a message :)
@@Larry cheers Larry, I'll look into that :)
Ahh, looked into it, but without a hardware mod it seems can't be done :(
I got one to play OG Call of Duty games
BO1, MW2, BO2, WAW
Same and to remember my childhood I got the slim for 50$ so I had to grab it
Absolutely amazing to see some new content from you RetrogamerVX - As for myself, I keep my 360 and my OG Xbox for the proper experience on the games that only work seamlessly on those platforms; if I want to play my old fave, Project Gotham, those games HAVE to be played with the original hardware to be proper IMHO.
Thank you Lief, appreciated :) I'll have to look into that game. More videos and some fun live shows planned for this one :)
Nice to see you back steve hope to see more of you. I have every generation of xbox in my collection . My favourite is the 1st gen the original one.
Thanks mancave, yes, big changes thar have allowed my return, but really trying to up the standards and contents if the videos, got some interesting projects coming up :)
Gir the og black and og crystal too, hope to fo some videos with them :)
games are very cheap on 360, but I finally upgraded to PS5 last year though and it was well worth it, I had not idea what I was missing out on!
Yep, agreed , but more aiming the discussion towards people ehi can't afford the latest hardware and games, this would be excellent :)
I got a 360 at launch and it never red ringed. I actually traded it in for a Slim when they came out. The Game Store tested the hell out of it because they couldn't believe it, but yeah there was nothing wrong with it. 🤣 I've had the Slim ever since and it's great. You're right it does have a great library and the games are really cheap!
I am 26 years old I would probably buy xbox 360 for my childhood nostalgia 😊😊😊❤❤❤
I would love too see more gaming console videos,
great watch by the way
Great vid mate, sound effect during video transition means it was a struggle to get through
Thanks, I was wondering what people would think of that.
I was recently given an Xbox 360 S 4GB with no hard drive or controller. I already had a wired controller I used with my PC, and I've fitted an genuine 250GB drive.
A full review etc would be great.
Nice, ya, I managed to get one in without the cradle. I may have to do a full review, will be several months away though.
@@RetroGamerVX You could also put an SSD in it 🙂
@@wisteela Exactly, speed it right up :)
@@RetroGamerVX And cool it down
@@wisteela Yes, I always play with headphones on and this sits under the computer table (I use it on my 4k computer monitor you can see in another review) and sometimes I hear it when waiting for a game section to load.
I still have my 360 and play games on it at least once a week. Plus it can play my favorite original Xbox games, Nights of the Old Republic 1 and 2. I’m going into this gen of consoles kicking and screaming because my favorite TV isn’t my 4K, it’s my 55inch 3d TV. Great vid!
Back when you played Halo multiplayer and your team actually talked to one another & trash talk was king so much fun.
Hi Steve:
I've always had xboxes, got a 2nd hand OG at uni, then a 360 OG, then a slim when the OG red-ringed and then a One, which didn't get much action. Now have a PS4 that I bought off a mate for £40 and repaired. To be honest I think xboxes are much better built and their controllers nicer. Would definitely get another 360 if I came across one.
Thanks Graham, we've got an og black and an Og crystal too which we hope to have appear on the channel soon :)
I still have my x360 ready to play. Forza motorsports and many other games that are not compatible with one/series X/s. Still works like a charm 👍
great video!
i recently got one and very happy with my decision got a few favorite games and not looking back
The question is. When do those that grew up playing 360, get old enough to have established family. And want to revisit their childhood or show it to their kids? Yes. That will be the time, when the 360 goes up in price really fast.
So to answer your question. The time to buy, is now. Before prices start to rise. I have already secured three machines. One for my son, one for my daughter and one for me. They both like the 360 so much, that mine is not even hooked up yet. Still looking for a few more games my self at this point. But basically I have what I need and future cheap purchases are just bonus.
Yup, thats what I say in the video, prices will start yo rise again as nostalgia for them starts to kick in, usually around the 20-30 year mark.
@@RetroGamerVX To be honest. I paused the video to comment, in the middle of that part with the store at the start, to make this comment. Just an opinion that I have had for the last 8 years, when I saw an insane increase in stuff like Gravid Ultrasound. Back then I started to wonder what factors can drive the price up, and this point of view that I wrote about, is something people had not talked about on Vogons.
@brostenen you, and aksi, even if your buying it to purely use, it's the same thing, you'll be removing that stock from the market, keeping it fir many years as they become scarser, therefore, driving up values of surviving ones, same thing, I'm just keeping a box surviving too :)
@@RetroGamerVX True.... But you will buy it for the pure reason. And that is because you want it, and not because of scalping and because prices suddenly dictate that it is worth a lot and therefor special. 😉
I hate scalpers. And it is best that the community keep it affordable to get, even through swapping with other stuff. I might get one extra, just for the sake of having something I can swap with something cheap, for the time when prices go insane. I would make someone happy in the future then. 😉
@brostenen yup, I'm buying it very much to use, not a scalper, hate those buggers, but, If people did not buy from them and were more patient like I am, those scalpers would not have a market.
I've had two 360's for donkeys under various states of use and duress.
The 'Red Ring' seems to be everyone else's problem. Mythical to me. I don't doubt its existence but I'm Fonzy.
No dramas at all.
4:01 Dragon Power baby!
Yup lol, that dragon can do some damage when it's got heartburn thoigh ;)
"Did I waste my time?" - Dude has a typewriter... I don't think you are wasting your time with an Xbox 360.
After about 2 years my Xbox 360 got the red ring of death. Mine was "slim" white and stood upwards. Particually enjoyed Deadrising shooting Zombies in the shopping mall. Dawn of the dead for real! A livestream would be good with the Xbox 360. Enjoyed your review :)
Thanks Caprica, loads to discover on it for us. Yup, planning on bringing you some more live 360, including live kinect so we can really make fools out of ourselves. Enjoyed making this one :)
I bought the s version and had it modded to pretty much everything
For Kinect exercise games like Zumba, Nike+ and Just Dance it is a good buy.
I still have the original Xenon(no HDMI), only used once after being sent back from Microsoft for RROD repair in 2006.
Compared to the other 360s the E is actually slightly different. I have noticed its quicker, and i have noticed the frame rates are more stable. Remember this was made in 2013 so Microsoft tweaked a few things. The motherboard is different to. Microsoft aren't stupid.
Nice jumpcuts brah
Cheers, a lot of planning and editing for them :)
I never had red ring of death. No idea why because I really hammered my first console which killed the optical drive. Console repaired under warranty and 2 years later the laser died again. So then I bought an S model and happy gaming ever since although I did buy an E model as a back up but that has never let me down either.
I’ve been thinking about buying one of these back to play Left 4 Dead 2 again
Unfortunately there's a pretty serious bug. If you change your avatar on a profile with xbox live. There's a chance that any xbox 360 with that profile on it cannot connect to the internet or xbox live until the profile is removed. At least, that's what I found after changing my avatar :(
I bought my 360 Elite (120GB) in the spring of 2010 and it still ran great the last time I used it. I was glad that I skipped the idea of buying earlier versions of the console and was able to avoid the RRoD completely. I quite enjoyed my original Xbox - which I still own today in 2023. In the fall of 2013 when the Xbox One first launched, Best Buy had a sale on 250GB 360E consoles for $199 Canadian so I grabbed it as a spare. Today I have it running in the spare room and it works perfectly yet, although to be fair it hasn't gotten a lot of use. Most of the major releases for Xbox 360 are in the backwards compatible catalog and can be run on an Xbox One or Series X/S, but I still have a fair number of games that are not on that list, so the 360 still has some relevance to me. Plus it's nice for whatever reason to play games on the original hardware!
I'd seriously recommend getting the official force feedback steering wheel and pedals, I didn't have one back in the day, recently purchased a boxed one from ebay, the build quality really surprised me as did the overall experience, Forza is a dream with it, I've since purchased another boxed one. The beauty is the weight, you can have it on your lap without the need for clamping it to something.
just ordered an RGH 3.0 xbox360. good point with not having to shell out hard earned money to play a game already purchased.
Congrats, yes, that's a bugger.
I going to buy one because they are the best console still around
Yep, pretty good and cheap. More to come on this one.
@@RetroGamerVX what the cheapest one to get because cex sell them far £75 and cash shop got them far £39-99
@@leelaird1544 I got mine from a local games shop, £45, but you can get them on Facebook market place at similar prices, got the hddvd drive now, eBay much more expensive.
@@RetroGamerVX yes eBay is too much I look on Facebook
Dont buy as an investment. Buy now, so you have saved in regards to prices 10 years from now. But because you like it. Never buy as an investment, because investments are part of that whole price increase thing. Yes, sure prices go up in the future, but investment should never ever be a part of why you buy. Sorry to be a stick in the mud. But I am still so pissed, that Commodore stuff from my childhood and teens, have fallen victim to that whole price increase. When I see people not even born before 1995, talk "important words" about the awesommeness retro stuff that are so expensive.... Like wtf? And they were not there, so they are leaving out that whole community feel, that were the most essential part of computers back then.
Sorry for ranting. I am just pissed that young ones with big budgets for RUclips videoes, can get stuff that we who actually used it, can not even dream about getting hands on. Envious? No, just pissed at prof. produced RUclips stuff are part of pushing prices up.
I'm in my mid 40s lol. Well, get em when they are cheap before all the 'investors' grab theirs can be used and increase in value if looked after.
@@RetroGamerVX I am 46 as well.... I have warned one in the family, that are at the age of 18 now. And have been gaming on 360 since childhood, that if she want a spare for cheap. For the day her personal one craps out. Then she will have to find one within the next 5 years of time. She does only care for 360 and V-Smile. And I gave her a V-Smile for her 18'th year birthday, as one extra surprise-fun gift. And she were absolutely in awe about the play on her nostalgia. I paid around 18 british pound for one console with 10 games and two controllers. But as she turned 18, the birthday present were a bottle of Glenfiddich 12 year single malt. The green label that is.
Nothing like a bottle of good Scottish whiskey and a dose of nostalgia for ones 18 year birthday.
Hi Steve !
At 1:38 you showed a picture of the playstation 2 instead of the ps3
Oopsy ;)
Comedy moment, did it on purpose, honestly ;)
I buy a Slim with 8 Games for 20 Euros 3 weeks ago. Great Deal
My son just gave me his old one. Is it me or are the graphics on this 18 year old machine almost as good as the current one.
The 8bit to 16bit was a huge improvement in a just few years. I know the Xbox One is better, but is it 18 years better?
Yup, the graphics on these are really good, even on our 55 inch tv :)
I have an original fat model,it never red ringed, but the DVD drive doesn't work anymore. Also, not a huge deal, but my controller won't power on. I'm probably just going to order a pre-hacked RGH slim console so I can just load up games on the hard drive and not have to use the game discs anymore.
Yes it's an absolute no brainer you should buy a PS3 and a 360
The red ring of death kills getting a 360 for me
Not all that common anymore with the slim model. Of course everything does stops working eventually no way around that.
Can I still purchase dlcs in games like guitar hero and rock band ? From marketplace

Just Hooked up my Xbox 360 in My New Place
I was gonna Buy a Xbox Series X as Opposed to PS5
and then I remembered I barely Played my PS4...
And theres still titles from the 360 I missed and never got round to playing
Such as Max Payne 3
Xbox 360 was a Great system because it was In Between the Transition of Offline and Online Gaming
Without an Ethernet Cable you was Basically Gaming Offline... But I liked that the Consoles consensus wasn't completely
Based around being online.
I Switched on my PS4 the other day for the first time in 3 months ... Only to find out i had to do 2 Big Updates?!
Guess what... The Game i Purchased and Installed - After the First Update - Deleted my Game save and made me re-start the Game again
Saying they Done an Update and sorry for the Inconvenience - That Made me Put the PS4 Back on the Shelf!!!
Lockdown Got me back into Retro-Gaming.
I Played Retro Systems - Loads of PS1 Games and also some Mega Drive and N64
I was Blown away By How Good Retro Gaming really was (As I'd Forgotten)
Can't even be bothered to Go back to the PS4 let alone Fork out the Cash for
A Xbox Series X or PS5
Also I only Realized the Kinect for the 360 is Like 10£ on ebay and you can Buy Kinect titles for a Couple £ a Pop
I Feel Like Gaming is in a Weird space right now...
We've Reached a Teething Point where you can't really see the Difference between PS5 and PS4 Graphics
Or Xbox One and Xbox Series X Graphics and Performance... Yeah if you get them side by side you can see the difference
But its Like... What is this???
This has just become a Pompous Charade its Like.... Someone bringing you to their House and Showing Off their Posh Cooker
That is Voice activated or something.
Like... Yeah Wow Ok well... Nice that you can Tell the Flash Posh Cooker to Cook Dinner but... DO we REALLY Need it? 😂
i Dunno how the Standard of Game has become FLASH Ultra Realitistic Graphics and a Virtual Reality Like world on
Nearly every Game, To me that defeats the Point Of Gaming.
Maybe Im just an Old Git Who Knows 😂
Nice Vid bro!
Keep up the Good work!
