I'm actually flying from Chattanooga to Boise, Idaho February 26 but I'll be going from Charlotte to Phoenix in the afternoon. I heard PHX has a great airport. Looking forward to it!
Gorgeous man, as always! Might be taking this flight in January. So excited! All the AA/US flights I’ve taken out of Charlotte, have yet to fly the A330 lol!
I watch the planes here in Charlotte area and us a app that gives me all flight info. I have never seen Charlotte to Phoenix. There's daily flights to Munich, Dublin, Rome, Manchester.
It’s so easy to find out the airplanes tail number. American only has 9 A330-300s so all you have to do is lookup each one and see if it’s scheduled for your flight
Thought it interesting that you taxied by the retro Piedmont Airbus, since you just arrived from Charlotte, the one time hub for Piedmont long ago.Too bad you didn't continue on to HNL! Wondering why you were gated at the international terminal? I'm thinking that you may have docked at the gate that BA uses for their 747 service to LHR
This is a hub-to-hub flight and the route is extremely busy. They scheduled a wide-body on this route for the winter season due to high demand. I think AA has allocated a smaller aircraft to this flight since the widebodies are busy flying to Europe.
When they were flying this route on the A333, typically, the inbound flight from Charlotte to Phoenix would continue to Honolulu. Then, the morning inbound flight from Honolulu on this aircraft would continue to Charlotte.
airlines also choose planes based on demand. If there are too many people for a small plane, the use a big plane that can fit them all. Economies of Scale at its finest.

Flew in the same seat from HNL-PHX. Awesome video as always! Pretty sure I've been watching your videos for well over 10 years now.
Such a great aircraft, it's so sad how they were retired prematurely!
Very nice!!!!
I always enjoyed the approach into Phoenix. Looks like one of his spoilers has a fault on the descent 🤔.

If you ever need to find the reg, try looking up your flight on flightradar24
2:25 I knew FedEx still operated the DC-10, some wise ass said they only had the MD-11's now.
They still run MD-10 (DC-10), but they are heading out soon.

A330 on this flight whoa thats rare
Yes, it was only for the winter season.
A spoiler never came up what’s up with that
They did if you look closely, they're just out of view.
How were they able to fly the A330 instead of smaller jets for this route? Special trip?

Brian Cebu what international routes does aa have from Phoenix
When they were flying this route on the A333, typically, the inbound flight from Charlotte to Phoenix would continue to Honolulu. Then, the morning inbound flight from Honolulu on this aircraft would continue to Charlotte.
AA was also using the A330 on PHL-SFO recently. Now they're using it on PHL-LAX
