- Fantastic engine sound! Watch as we rotate and climb right into the clouds! Comfortable lie flat seats in US Airways' Envoy cabin! Out of the window you can see all the big jets parked at the international terminal including the Lufthansa A340-600! Very low ceilings and poor visibility today! Runway 36R departure! Filmed from the First Class cabin on board US Airways! Flight 938 to Philadelphia. 5/5/13.

The mid-low range bass frequencies after climb thrust reduction are goosebump worthy. You've got some of the best footage I've ever seen of modern commercial turbofan engines
3200 rpm
Pilots and plane engineers are such amazing people.
Agreed!
Moreso the engineers.
mehh attribute it to technology they are just following protocol
And the technology of airplanes itself is amazing too
And software engineers who developed software for airplanes
Superb sound, especially at 5:00 with a little more throttle.
Thanks! Glad you liked it! You have a great channel, by the way!
Yep, Just Shows You the amazing power of the PW4168's on the A330!
***** Excuse me, for how long the airplane crossed the clouds ? Interesting video !
At least 15 to 20 minutes! It was a big cloud mass!
***** Anyway at 5 minute and 50 seconds the rain seems already to stop
One of the best take offs on RUclips.
To me, the PW4000-100 is one of the most unique sounding engines, especially during idle and spooling up. Definitely my favorite to listen to, and your video has become one of my favorites!
The PW4000 is a quality engine for sure! I really enjoy the sound it makes as well! Thanks so much for your kind comments and your ongoing support! Glad you like the video!
That engine I swear (hearing it from behind not the front) Sounds like a rocket without the crackle. Definitely sounds loud and clear!
No other A330 sounds better than this one, man!!!! I wish I can buy this airplane, to fly it every time for fun.
Hello, old me.
Arguably one of the best aviation videos on RUclips. Thanks for uploading, a real gem.
awesome video love the engines roar! just love the vibration sound
the pilots were probably like, "there is no end to these rain clouds!" thanks for the vid. HD in sight and sounds!
I think airline jets are amazing that they can fly through almost anything, day and night and the crews that man them...top marks!!!
My grandad could pilot everything
Herbert Uwe Your car doesn’t have to endure constant atmospheric pressure changes, temperatures ranging from 20 centigrade to -56 centigrade, lightningstrikes, forces met at mach 0.72, yea you get the point
WOW! That's an intense takeoff. Great video.
+degorovi Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the comment!
degorovi intense? How? Looked normal to me.
AMAZING INDEED
Why could that Captain not climb at a faster rate to get out of the rain THO
Cool takeoff. Very heavy rain indeed.
Glad you liked it! It was very wet that day!
5:46 and breathe... Don't you just love that sound. Excellent video
I do hahaha
The take off sound will be my phone ringtone.
This goes straight to my favorites.
Those PW4168A engines sounds R.O.A.R
Great video man!
It is a good video
GREAT? Huli tam GREAT
@@МихаилБаглоцишвили Vse tam great,
Love that Pratt Witty engines sound
Ethan Campbell these are RR Trent 700
That sawblade noise sure reminds me a lot on the RB211. Truly majestic.
Yeah, there is a similarity! I'm glad you liked the video!
Those engines almost sound like the old L-1011's!! Great video.
Yeah, I guess they are kind of similar! Glad you enjoyed the video!
One of the best sounds ever!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
roaring off into the rain. Love it!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the comment and viewership!
the pilot really cranks it up at 5:00! awesome sound
Great video, great sound. This helped me show a "soon-to-fly-first-timer" what noises to expect on departure. Thank you.
Apart from the amazing videos you share with us, it's also incredible how loyal and thoughtful you are with subscribers and their comments; you take time to answer every single one of them. That's just great! Keep up with those amazing videos! Cheers
Thank you! My thought is without you guys my channel wouldn't be what it is today! I feel if someone took the time to make a comment, then it's nice to return the favor!
Well the rain at window truly shows the speed of the plane.just guzzling the miles at a tremendous rate.super speed video.
We went on the pilgrimage to Mecca last year. Flew from Istanbul to Jeddah on an A330. This video brings back memories. Thanks.
Oh very cool! I'm glad you liked the video! Thanks for the comment!
Wow! Love the engine sound!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it so much!
You know what frightens me more on flights? These abrupt decrease in engine power, as if stopping.
Totally normal. The pilot pulled back the throttles a tad to reduce fuel burn.
NWSRuskin329 Thanks for that.😉
+Valter Santanna Not a problem! Glad I could help!
NWSRuskin329 👍
Allegiant804 yes but if the engines did pack up, it'd most likely sound very similar, which is why it's scary as fuck.
Sounds best on heavy weather!!
Awesome.....CLT ROCKS....love it
It's a great airport! Glad you liked the video! Thank you for your comment!
RIP USAirways and we thank you. I love A330 and A340. We visit my native country of Sweden every year. We fly with Scandinavian Airlines out of Newark, NJ. It's always onboard either the A330 or the A340. Great job!!
I like SAS, but I've only had one flight on them so far!
Those engines sound Badass.. Best I have heard so far
I love it how the water direction changes from vertical to horizontal! nice video
These jet engines.
I remember my first ever flight.
To new York.
I was over the Atlantic on a 747 and I just sat and gazed at the engines in wonder. I remember the RR Logo. Rolls Royce. It put me at ease.
Now....I love flying. But I still marvel at those engines.
And that sound at 20 to 30 seconds is the best sound known to man.
Actually, the GE90 is the best sound followed by this. ☺️
Wow those PW4000's make some sound!
Love a330 engine sound from start to climb
Glad you enjoyed it!
Mah584jr HD Aviation 2019 soon coming 2020
It seems this a330 is an old bcs the new a330 less engine sound
Beautiful, very beautiful. Rainstorms make flights so much better.
Finally above clouds!
Oh the nostalgia in this video 😭
Beautiful sound
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the comment!
Awesome vid.. Loved those watery snakes sliding past the window..the sound..terrific!!
Manu Del I'm really glad you enjoyed it! The water is cool! Thank you for taking the time to comment!
Listen to that engine Raw. Pure bliss💖💕💕
Intense fantastic takeoff, especially cutting through the clouds!
That is some severe rain. Great video and awesome sound.
+Markus Jentes Glad you liked it so much! Thank you for the comment!
Thats incredible, the engine drinking some tons of water and still working....!!!!
That ain't no rain storm. A lot of rain, but no storm. Cool sound.
...a testament to the tenacity and strength of water's surface tension! Those droplets kept clinging to that window and many to each other as they streamed on past!
love that roar from those engines!!!!
Amazing how much water those jet engines can swallow and still keep going.
Impressive engine sounds, pure power!
Thats one of the engine's company's slogans haha
Love this one. Putting it on my fav 👍👍
I've done this . . . In the rain too but we were heading to Gatwick in London. Thanks for providing the memories.
Nice PW4000 ENGINE SOUND!!!
Those engines both purr and growl at the same time.
Just like my neighbor's cat.
the sun have never been seen the whole video, great clouds as same as the ROAR of the engines.
Yeah, the clouds were thick that day!
Awesome!!! I love the sound of the engines! It makes me feel safe. There are blue skies above......
I'm really proud all of the Airplanes and Pilots in the World because the weather are turning bad, the Airplanes still fly. All of the Airplanes and Pilots are very brave!😤😤😤💪💪💪
Incredibly long rainy spell, superb take off
Wow such a dope vid !! Haven't left out in any rain in a while but that was one heck of a storm there ! Love the aerial shot of the airport on the ascent as well
Thanks! I'm really glad you liked the video! It's fun flying in the rain from time to time!
Fantastic, just fantastic, you feel as if you are in a real aircraft. The engine noise is just great. They make my hair to rise.
Beautiful video in heavy rain ..
Thanks for sharing ..
+Wasif Bashir Thank you for your comment! Glad you enjoyed it!
Boy do I miss flying it's views like this that makes it all so interesting and fun.
I freaking love the A330 with thoose engines! Awesome takeoff and amazing sound wow! Good job! =)

Cool, i fucking hate them. haha
ryan5678901 me to
That fking enginesound tho :D

I love that PW4000-100 engine sound!
amazing engines sound !!!!! great footage !!!!!!
I aave a Sony HandyCam about two years and the sound is just amazing. I can record two channels sound at same time. Like 2d/3d sound.
Great video!!
Now after hearing the immense and incredible PW4070 buzzsaw, i cant decide if the RR Trent 700 will still be my favourite 😅😅
This is PW4168. 4070 is for the 777
Sort of reminds me of my 1985 22re Toyota truck I had for 25 years. The unruffled, confident purring of the engine.
Wow very rare in-between layers rain, and pretty good rain to almost 10,000 feet (chime). Nice to see my former base airport, KCLT. All I miss is the non-rev flights, and lots of good friends.
That's one intense video! I kinda love the picture of a plane takeoff in heavy rain and, like, how the rain is still rain in a considerable altitude :) To be honest, I thought the rain would turn itself into snow at some point, since we know a certain altitude starts a zone of permanent freezing. But we rarelyphysically _see_ this fact :)
That’s a lot of rain, even at a relatively high altitude and it’s still pouring.
love the A 330. not as powerful as 777 but definitely strong, elegant and silent aircraft. Love the sound of RR engines as they pick up RPM. I think this sound is from RR. Nice and steady video
mandakulutur ganesh These are Pratt & Whitney engines! I think the A330 is fantastic as well! I'm glad you enjoyed the video so much! Thank you for the comment!
Well, as I see, the storm was heavy but the pilots’s skills are incredible, they controlled the plane very good, looks like the plane didn’t shake. Like your video. Liked and subbed
This is what I'm talking about. Proper engine roar!
Yeah, this was a great shot! Glad you liked it too! Thank you for the comment!
WOW! Beautiful video! I love the airport overlook at around 1:10!
Thank you! I'm so very glad that you enjoyed it!
Great sound and video quality. Good job keeping the camera steady, too, as many of these wingview takeoffs in less than favorable weather are prone to turbulence shake... Compressor blade buzz is normal for these engines on takeoff power, reduced power at around 4:00 to adjust vert. climb speed for fuel savings then powered back up again to continue climb to cruise altitude. It's really not as loud as it sounded here, just good equipment in use.
What a roar! Beautiful sound
Love the engine roar on roll out and takeoff
Fact: Aircraft ALWAYS sound 100 times better in rainy weather!
Wow! Really really enjoyed that vid thanks! Engines sound amazing...
One of the most gorgeous sounding engines I've ever heard... Thanks so much for sharing!!
Which engines are they?
@@rainbowrailroadcrossing7798 Pratt & Whitney PW4000
like watching the wing flex. starting at about 50 second mark or so you can really see it curve up as the air flow increases over the wing
That take-off to cruise sound transition kills me😅
Brian Barrios: If it did you wouldn't be writing this.
Awesome engine sounds. Not a heavy rainstorm!
And, nothing compares to the sound of those enormous engines throttling up and back down to keep your flight moving as smoothly as it can.
I could probably sleep with that sound!
I like it, so intense !!
some people would name this video "severe turbulance during takeoff-MUST WATCH" just to get views hahahah
nice video, and nice sound too
Love that spool up at :28. Music to my ears
That is an incredible spool my friend!
Super takeoff my friend
thank you for sharing! actually a video that doesn't take 10 minutes for takeoff!
+Brandon Smith Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the comment!
Who said that you must watch the vodeo 10 min long?
wonderful sound!
Amazing rainy takeoff and engine sound! Good filming!
Glad you liked it so much! I appreciate the comment!
That was amazing engine sound take off.
That "growl".......love it!!!
it's a realy unbelievable take-off
+Ujjal Majumder Glad you liked it! Thanks for the comment!
Awesome take off. Thanks for sharing :)
