    When I bought my house in 1995 I bought a Kgro (Murray?) mower that I would keep cleaner than most people keep their cars. Unfortunately one day I was in tall grass and lowered it down onto an apple tree stump resulting in a bent crankshaft. 😭😭

    I like you. You're cool. Thanks for the video and info. My dad decided to buy a new Honda and thought I might want his old one, which I already have. 😑 said if I can fix it I can have it. Hahah so I want to clean it up and fix. And have it sitting in the middle of the lawn when he comes by to visit the kids. Hahah. Whatcha think about painting? I want to maybe sand blast and primer,paint, gloss? thinking of black, my dad's favorite color. Black on black?

    Thanks for the video. Can we clean the whole outside of the engine, carburetor, and camshaft and everything else with brake cleaner? I have a used and very dirty push mower, and I removed the plastic housing cover, the plastic fuel tank, the 2nd metal plate housing, the air filter & cover, the spark plug, and the muffler. I covered the spark plug hole and the muffler hole with plastic bag and paper towel so nothing will get in the holes. It has a lot of grime and dirt all over, and I want to clean it all off but I'm not sure if this is something that can be done without damaging it somehow? If this can be done, is there anything else (electrical or other) that I need to cover with plastic to not get it wet and damage it? I wanted to get the advice from someone who knows about these things. Any help is much appreciated.

      @GarageGear  22 дня назад

      @@GabrielEmerald777 hey gabriel! You could use brake cleaner but WARNING it will ruin the pain on your lawnmower. It’s stronger than carb cleaner it may even ruin some carb gaskets in certain cases.

      @@GarageGear Thank you, much appreciated. Can I use it all over the flywheel top, sides, and under it? It seems the flywheel is connected to the engine from the top... If I spray brake cleaner uner the flywheel in the space between IT, and the engine, will that be able to get into the engine somehow where the flywheel connect to the engine? I apologize for the silly questions but I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to these things.

    • @GarageGear
      @GarageGear  21 день назад

      @@GabrielEmerald777 hey Gabriel I would not coat the fly wheel with anything. It could ruin your electrical connection as it spins to start. I would leave it as is. No one sees it anyways.

    • @GarageGear
      @GarageGear  3 года назад +3

      Trini2DB868 hey Trini! I usually clean mine throughly at the end of the season. Before I tuck it away. That way it’s clean for the start of the next season. Plus any grass caught underneath during the winter months can mold over and smell up the garage. During the mowing season I tip my mower back and scrape out the underside just about every time I use it and leaf blow it off. I find it runs and cuts better that way. Thanks for being a fan of the channel!
