  • Woodturning - I crack out the spirit stains to give my pear vase a blue rinse - hope you like it! This is a fun and easy colouring project for woodturners to try.

    Since I started making these videos in 2017, I have been lucky enough to receive the support of some manufacturers with materials to use in my videos. Since May 2018, Chestnut Products have provided me with stains, an iridescent paints sample set, lacquers and waxes. I'd like to thank them for their kind and generous support. Martin Saban-Smith has provided me with a sample set of Intrinisic Colours.
    All other products and tools, unless where indicated, have been bought from suppliers at retail prices. Products mentioned in my videos are for information purposes so that viewers know what I have used.

    I wasn't sure you could improve on the natural finish you had on this piece, Stewart, but, wow, you did! Looks like marble. Really nice blend of colors. Fun video, thanks!

    I was concerned with the green, but it actually works Stewart. (Some people actually forget blue and yellow make green 😆) love the colors but I kept waiting for a bit of purple fun. Ooh it's shiny. Great job! Thanks for sharing your creativity with me again. Stay safe, Vickie

      @@stewartfurini have you used sea sponge? I was heavy into my crafting about 20 years ago and painted anything that sat still long enough lol. I created entire pictures with them. If you've never played with one, do it. If you have, never mind 😆 🤣

    WOW what beautiful colouring and finishing,your pieces are always very inspirational.You said something in your commentary about being accused of lacking colour,I think that would be the last thing anybody would accuse you of. Keep up the great work

    Got some new electronic toys, I see. 😁 Also noticed around the 4:12 mark that you seem to have a neighbor from the USA. Surely no good Brit would be revving their engine like that.
    Loved the result of the coloring and finish. Just like the good old days, I was pretty skeptical early on. As you were getting the coloring complete I was hoping for a nice shiny finish, and you came through for me. I think the color and shape make this a real winner.

    Hi Stewart. I really like the colours on this one. It was first in the still images we could really see the colours and how they mix together. Very nice. You seem to have a plan in your head when you start colouring. I wish I could say the same for me and my colouring experiments.

    Stewart, simply fantastic! Love how the colors turned out, reminded me a little of metal oxidizing. How do you finish the inside of the vase? Thanks.

    Old wooden Vazzes are like old Women. Always nicer to look at with a splash of color on them. What? Wouldn't you agree? By the way, I really like the elevated platform on your bedway.
