- Like most of my bowls on this channel, this last remaining piece of bradford pear has been stashed away in my shop for a few months now after cutting it up with the intentions to turn it. I finally got around to it a few weeks ago and decided I would try something a little different with this bowl...

Really interesting. The continuity of the bowl shape through the flat section really makes it feel like two distinct forms. Great to watch 🤙🏽
I appreciate that!
What a fantastic piece of work.
I appreciate that!
Another beautiful organic piece
Thank you!
Beautiful winged piece. Thanks!
Thank ya for the kind comment!
Another awesome piece. I love Bradford pear.
Thank you! And its become one of my favorites as well! Drying can be a little iffy but doesnt seem to crack too terrible.
Mate thats awesome!, i love doing this kind of winged bowl
Thank ya bud! Was definitely enjoyable. I just need to work on getting the winged part more even lol
I hate that these trees are so invasive to the point that people are talking about irradiating them. While we have them the wood they produce is beautiful. Your bowl is no exception. Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.
I do as well! I had no idea about them being invasive until I got this log delivered. If I'm not mistaken, I think NC even has a program where they will come and cut them down or something like that. Thanks for the compliments!
@@andrewmccarn I plan to collect and turn as much as I can while it’s still available. They are literally everywhere here in KY.
Great piece Andrew! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you John!
Nice work, thanks for sharing. Full view and Like 👍
That looks amazing
Thank you!
Wonderful work
Thanks Robert!
Beautiful 😊
Thank you!
Again that bradford pear is great. I just love the crotch sections most of all and making matching bowls from them. Keep turning more good looking bowls!!
Probably my favorite part of the tree to turn! You never really know how it will look when you cut into it!
Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you!
Lovely execution on the bowl! I like how the round and square played together in here.
Thank you! The bowl being in the overall wood really does give it a unique look!
Nice work Andrew
Thanks Tim!
beautifully done!! great turning.
Thank you!
Nicely done Andrew! Beautiful bowl! 👍
Thanks ya sir!
That came out awesome bro. Love the style of it, very unique. I could see it being used in a nice game night, some dip and a place to lay the chips. Or for pizza rolls.
Love it, great video as always!
Would need one of my larger bowls for our amount of pizza rolls d00d!
Sweet
Thanks!
Wonderful bowl! Who's doing the academy award winning camera work?
I appreciate that & that is just me, my tripod & slider! 😅
Lovely. What is the oil you finish with again? I've heard Bradford pear is quite prone to cracking--nicely done!
Thank you! I used Real Milk Paint Co Half & Half Tung Oil for this piece but I also enjoy using Tried & True as well. Yeah this piece had a few but nothing too horrible! Its always been mixed results for what I have turned. Had a few dry without any cracks and some that were too gone. Fun wood to turn though!
Love the intro!
Trying to be “artsy”! & thank you ☺️
