Bonus points for making refried beans. I don't know why people suddenly get into a health kick and use black beans on nachos. As if nachos and low calorie belong in the same sentence, lol!

Why the exclamation point on the end
If you try to exclude refried beans from a nacho you will be served as nachos, I will *add* black beans but I will never replace refried that is just... wrong.

I often use some whole milk when making refried beans. It gives them that soft and creamy texture that i love ♥️

Biggest most common mistake I catch when people are making this is they put the cheese on first. White (or sweet) onion because you don't want it to over power the dish. -Great video! (from someone who instructs on, and cooks Mexican food).

Thank you for the nacho recipe. I'm making carnitas and I wanted to make nachos with them and I was curious about assembly and cook time and voila, you put up this video. So thanks! I'm gonna skip the beans, just going to do carnitas(had the dry rub on for 36 hours, then slow cooked for 8), onions, jalapeños, cheese, and avocado. Oh and a squeeze of lime.

Another thing you should try adding is cream cheese. You might not think it would go well with something like this, but it's just amazing how awesome it tastes in nachos. I just put little chunks of it under the cheese, and when it gets heated through, it melts, and tastes so awesome.
I got a suggestions to add flavor to those beans. . Just tried it and they came our AMAZING! Follow reciepe as indicated, but I put fresh garlic in with the onions, add some about a half teaspoon of Adobo, a few grinds of fresh black pepper. When sautéing the onions, use a beef bouillon. Also, couldn't find flap meat, so I used some chuck steaks I had in the fridge. Cheap and full of flavor. Otherwise, it turned out GREAT!
This is a very easy recipe that I seen in my life to make that I can follow.... I thought I was in heaven watching this while I was eating it My family is going to love this...thanks so much.

Flat iron steak is the most underrated steak. It is lean and has loads of flavour.
I'm late, but doubtful. Fat content is what gives cuts flavor, a lean steak are two words that do not go together.

These nachos were a "hit" yesterday during Super Bowl. I prepared the ingredients the night before. I assembled the nachos and into the oven they went. Instead of jalapenos, I served my homemade salsa on the side. They were deeelicious!

As a Mexican, glad to see you're using lard to make the beans..... quick suggestion, maybe Oaxaca and/or Cotija cheese instead... but it looks great!

When making the beans, a better way to make them more flavorful would be to replace the water with whole milk. This is just a thing I picked up from cooking with my father ( who came from Mexico)

Some people strain their salsa before putting it on their chips so they don't get soggy. Just an alternative to dicing everything up on a lazy day.
