You succeeded! I do feel like I’m sitting with you! I’m still working, but I’m in a place where I want to transition away from my career. I have to work at least another 3 years to earn my lifetime health benefits. That would put me at 58 years old. I’ve worked in education and a 2nd grade teacher for 25+years. Although my career has been fulfilling, I am feeling as if I’ve fulfilled my commitment in the role of “employee” and am ready to focus on that need for deep self-discovery that often comes at our age. My job requires a huge amount of mental, emotional, and physical output each year (each day!) and it’s very hard to carve out time for the more self-focused” and creative work I want to do. Thanks for this talk! ❤ I appreciate you.

Yes, I wish I had watched that video before being laid off. GenXer team here! I'm so sorry for what you went through. I know exactly what you mean. Many of us GenXers are in this predicament. Also, my best friend has been out of work for over two years now with long COVID. It's something that's still affecting many people.

Totally get where you’re coming from, Jase! It’s a rough ride out there, but we’ve got each other’s backs. 💙

I think in general, many women our age are going through huge transitions in general. Whether it’s career, family, physical, or emotional. I believe it’s part of our process of “becoming.” Even though it doesn’t always feel good. ❤

Absolutely! It's definitely true. I believe we women may not always express ourselves openly about our struggles for various complex reasons. My main goal in making the video is to encourage and normalize women to openly support one another. ❤️
