Joane - Mind, Soul and Grit
Великобритания
Добавлен 11 июл 2024
Hi, I'm Joane. Welcome! I create videos that bring a holistic approach to self-growth, blending mental, spiritual, and practical aspects of life. My focus is not only on inner transformation but also on the determination needed to succeed. I believe that success and fulfillment come from balancing mental clarity, spiritual depth, and resilience in the face of life's obstacles.
My journey in spiritual and personal development started more than 25 years ago. Along the way, I also trained in psychotherapy and studied psychology, as well as other quantum healing modalities, which is why you’ll see me blending both psychology and spirituality.
If you're looking for inspiration or a place to feel understood, you're in the right place. My goal is to build a community of like-minded individuals who are seeking to understand more about their human condition so they can live lives that feel fulfilling.
Grab your favorite drink, get comfy, and let’s dive into these conversations together!

Breaking free from toxic relationships: Why detachment is necessary
Breaking free from a toxic relationship isn’t just about walking away physically-it’s about detaching emotionally. In this video, we explore why detachment is necessary to regain control over your emotions and break the cycle of manipulation. We’ll dive into the concept of trauma bonding and how the unpredictable highs and lows in toxic relationships can create emotional dependency. We’ll also cover the psychological theory of learned helplessness, which explains why so many people feel stuck in these damaging dynamics. Whether you’re just realising the relationship is toxic or already working on emotional detachment, this video will provide you with practical steps to reclaim your sense ...

I’ll guide you through the key emotional stages-shock, pain, anger, reflection, and finally, acceptance-while also diving into Carl Jung’s concept of t...
Is Success a Feeling or an Achievement?
Просмотров 30Месяц назад
What does success really mean to you? Is it something you can measure-like a title, a paycheck, or a milestone? Or is success actually a feeling-a deep sense of fulfillment, alignment, and purpose? In this video, I explore the difference between feeling successful and achieving success, especially in a world where society often defines success in narrow, external terms. I’ll dive into how socie...
The silent battle with body image: Unpacking the layers of shame
Просмотров 41Месяц назад
Today, I would like to talk about the silent battle with body image that so many women face daily. I'll unpack the layers of shame that come from societal expectations, systemic sexism, and the media’s influence. Women, especially those between 25 and 45, are often judged based on appearance, and this judgment leads to deep-rooted body shame. But body image struggles aren’t just personal-they’r...

Why is it so hard to let go of control? In this video, I explore why so many of us struggle with the need to control every aspect of our lives, especially when it comes to fear of the unknown, the need for security, and perfectionism. Letting go can feel terrifying, but holding onto control may be keeping you from living a fuller, more authentic life. As women, we’re often told that we need to ...

Are you tired of holding yourself back? In this video, I dive into 5 reasons why you should stop playing small in the game of life, especially as a woman in today’s world. We often shrink ourselves out of fear, societal pressure, or because we’ve internalised the belief that we aren’t enough. But what if playing small is the very thing that’s keeping you from living the life you deserve? In thi...

The loneliness we don’t talk about: The silent epidemic of midlife In this video, I explore the concept of "existential loneliness"-a deeper, more profound feeling of isolation that can occur even in the presence of others. As we age, society often dismisses us, leaving many in midlife feeling irrelevant and disconnected. I share my thoughts on how this sense of loneliness is often tied to a lo...
Rebuilding self-worth after life changes Navigating the void

Drawing from personal experience, I discuss the discomfort of this in-between phase and how to navigate it with resilience and self-compassion. Whether you’ve experienced a major life transition, such as emigrating, retiring, or changin...

Thank you. 🙏🏻 New sub here.
Thank you so much for subscribing! Your support means the world to me!
I realised yesterday, after so long of educating myself, that it is also about the shame of over and over leaving and being drawn back in. Thank you. This video means so much 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad the video had an impact on you. Your journey is important, and I'm grateful to be a part of it!
Your voice is so soothing. Thank you for the encouragement and advice. Perfect timing.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so glad you found the video helpful and that the timing was right for you. Your comment truly means a lot to me, and I'm grateful to know my voice and message brought you some encouragement. Wishing you all the best on your journey-you're not alone in this. 💙
Thank you
My goodness, wonderful timing in finding your video. You made so many good points. The last bit though was so impactful for me - Detachment isn't about giving up, but about showing up for one's self. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m really glad the message resonated with you, especially the part about detachment-it truly is about honouring yourself and your well-being. It sounds like you’re in a powerful place of self-discovery, and I’m so grateful my video could be part of that moment for you. Wishing you strength and clarity on your journey!
You are so right. I have endued years of abuse. I love your video you are so right. I have my power back now and feel great. 😇😇😇
Thank you for sharing your journey-it’s inspiring to hear how far you’ve come after enduring so much. Reclaiming your power and feeling great is such a beautiful testament to your resilience and strength. 💙 I’m so glad the video resonated with you. Wishing you continued peace and empowerment as you move forward!
Thank you from Germany 🇩🇪 your wonderful voice calms me down ❤️
Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot to know my voice brings you a sense of calm. Sending warm wishes your way - all the way to Germany! 🇩🇪❤️ Take care of yourself on your journey-you’re not alone.
Thank so much for this video. I'm in the process of detaching and realizing I have been in a relationship with a toxic narcissistic person that's made me question my own reality and sense of self for the past year
You're very welcome. I'm so sorry to hear what you've been through, but it’s incredibly powerful that you’ve started recognizing the situation and taking steps to detach. Questioning your reality and sense of self can be such a painful experience, but it’s also where healing begins. Be gentle with yourself during this process-it’s okay to feel uncertain as you rebuild your sense of self. You’re stronger than you realize, and detachment is such a courageous step toward reclaiming your peace and clarity. Sending you lots of support on your journey!
Wow Joane, this is sooo beautiful what you said in this video! I think similarly, I’ve never felt better about my life and being true to myself. Even though there have been some very tough times, I’m glad I decided a while ago to start to live life in my own & unique way, allowing my soul to guide me. I don’t regret anything at all, I’m grateful for the magic that I could experience even in such though times, and now I see more and more magic starting to come in✨ I love the energy your emanating and I would love to connect with you🫶🏽✨🌹
Hello Joanne, Im walking away from a friendship that too dis respectful. Drains me of my energy and invades my precious time constantly . Smashing down boundaries and ignoring my requests for respect . Im done now. Time for more self respect. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing and being here - I appreciate you 💙 Boundaries are like Wi-Fi signals; if someone keeps interrupting them, it’s time to hit the ‘disconnect’ button! 🙌
@@MindSoulGrit This is so profound. Thank you.
Hey Joane, we missed you. You always make videos that resonate with my current situation. I decided this morning to walk away from a family matter. I've done all I can, and for my own sake, I'm moving away from that situation. It's no longer serving me. Thank you for reminding me to prioritize self-care and protect my inner peace and energy.
I'm so glad to hear my videos resonate with you! It's essential to prioritise your well-being; stepping away from situations that no longer serve you is a brave decision. I've been travelling but am back now. I'll be catching up on your videos soon! Take care of yourself!
Oh, thank you so much! Just on time! Was stuck in pain/guilt/anger and was pushed them away as "negative emotions" that drained me and tried to rush them away... Acceptance/reflection without anger/pain/guilt - that is another level))) working on it.. Was an "aha moment" when you were talking about guilt as part of anxiety/ detachment from bonding.... like this is it..the answer....thank you! It was very helpful!
Thank you so much for sharing that! I’m really glad to hear that part resonated with you. Detachment can be a challenging journey, especially when guilt and anxiety surface-it’s something so many of us experience. Recognizing these emotions is a powerful step toward acceptance and true healing. Keep giving yourself the grace and time to process; each moment of awareness is a sign of growth. Wishing you strength and clarity as you continue your journey.
Hye Joane, I completely agree with everything you said. It’s so refreshing to hear someone articulate what so many of us feel. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and insights. 🙏🏼
Hey Jase! Thanks for being here! And yes, as I get older I feel an urge to simplify my life even more. 💙
I’ve been struggling with some things recently, and the idea of radical acceptance is such a refreshing perspective. I love how you explained that it’s not about giving up or settling, but about redirecting our energy towards peace and growth.
Thanks for stopping by Jase! I appreciate you. I thought to create this video because many of us, me included sometimes struggle with various things in life. Plus the world that some of us was born no longer exists and we need to continually adapt. That - and all the nuances that follows women our age makes the message even more relevant in my opinion. 💙
Hmmm thought provoking topic. Totally needed to hear this today. I was super skinny, I played a lot of sport but I got lots of comments on my skinny ness. I think that has affected my mindset on my body.
Many of us are fed up with being judged by how we look!
Totally agree with you, more about how we live
Exactly! 🙌
Thank you. Success is truly personal. It's about defining your own path and celebrating your unique achievements. Let's redefine success on our own terms!
Well put Jase, absolutely! 💯 💙
Societal expectations can definitely shape our understanding of success.
Indeed, I spend years reprogramming myself to then learn what it meant for me. Not many people actually realise that they are living according to someone else’s script for life.
I needed to hear this today. Even though I'm more confident and independent at 51, I still struggle with body image issues. Sometimes, I limit myself because of fear. I feel ashamed of how I've mistreated my own body. It feels like my body speaks louder than anything I can say. It's my witness to the world. 🙏
Oh, Jase, I completely understand your perspective. This issue is challenging for many of us. It saddens me to see how humanity often projects shame onto others and prioritises external appearances. What truly matters is the expression of our Souls and hearts. We all deserve to be valued for who we are! 💙
Yes, I wish I had watched that video before being laid off. GenXer team here! I'm so sorry for what you went through. I know exactly what you mean. Many of us GenXers are in this predicament. Also, my best friend has been out of work for over two years now with long COVID. It's something that's still affecting many people.
Totally get where you’re coming from, Jase! It’s a rough ride out there, but we’ve got each other’s backs. 💙
As the daughter of immigrants although born here in the states, I've still felt like I don't belong anywhere. I can't speak Bulgarian yet I'm definitely different than any American I've ever met. It's a hard place to be in.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I can really relate to that feeling of not quite belonging. I was born in Brazil to an American father, and my personality was always more aligned with his, which led to comments from my mother’s family that I was the 'adopted one.' While they didn’t mean it in a hurtful way, it left me feeling like I didn’t quite fit in. That sense of not belonging, especially when you’re straddling different cultural identities, can feel isolating. Over time, I’ve come to realize that these feelings often arise during major life changes that impact our sense of self, just as you’ve described. Moving to the UK helped me see that navigating these shifts is part of the journey to rebuilding our identity and embracing all parts of who we are, even if it takes time. It’s not always easy, but knowing that we’re not alone in this struggle can be comforting. Thanks again for sharing-I really appreciate the connection.
Excellent video! You have articulated this issue so well and I enjoyed this video. I remember being at an airshow in Ohio and watching a female aerobatic pilot do things in the sky that only she knew how to do and the announcer was bragging her up but with this disclaimer: “Don’t worry guys because she looks good too” I found that so annoying because being number 1 at what she does was not enough, she also had to be hot! Ugh! We have so much to talk about, you and I!
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words! I really appreciate it. Your story from the airshow really hit home-it's such a powerful (and frustrating) example of how women's worth is often tied to how we look, even when we're breaking boundaries. It’s exhausting that this narrative persists, especially when we’re achieving incredible things in our own right. It sounds like we’re definitely on the same wavelength, and I agree-there’s so much to unpack and discuss around these topics! 😊
@@MindSoulGrit I think we won’t be able to stop the male gaze in its tracks, but I do think that we can grow the female gaze by supporting each other in our power and performing to that power. I really think it begins with knowing and trusting ourselves and replacing the male gaze with higher version of ourselves and performing to that. The funny thing is that when men do exactly that, they become more attractive to us 🤔 Bit that’s just a generalization because I imagine that men like that prefer women like us, they’re just hard to come by.
I completely agree with you-while we might not be able to stop the male gaze entirely, growing the female gaze and embracing our own power is such a strong way forward. I love the idea of performing to that higher version of ourselves, and it’s so empowering when we stop seeking external validation and instead find it within. And yes, it’s interesting how self-aware, confident men can become more attractive when they embody those same qualities. It’s like the more we stand in our own truth, the more we attract people who are aligned with that energy, even if they’re hard to come by! It’s such a beautiful cycle of mutual empowerment, and I’m grateful we can have these kinds of conversations to uplift and inspire each other. 💪✨

I love this quote from Marianne Williamson : “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Thank you so much, Jase, for sharing this beautiful quote! I love this quote from Marianne Williamson’s - and it words really resonate with the message of this video. I love how she reminds us that playing small doesn't serve anyone, and that we are meant to shine and uplift others by embracing our full potential. It’s so true that as we liberate ourselves from fear, we inspire others to do the same. Your support and insights always bring such depth to the conversation-I'm so grateful to have you as part of this community! 🌟
I can relate to feeling stuck in the same job. It's important to remember that it's never too late to live your life to the fullest. I decided to break free from the invisible chains that held me back. I'm living my best life now and hope to inspire other women who may feel limited by their circumstances to dream big and be their authentic selves
I truly appreciate you sharing your personal journey! It’s so inspiring to hear how you’ve broken free from those invisible chains and are now living your best life. That reminder that it’s never too late to dream big and be our authentic selves is something so many women need to hear. Your story will no doubt empower others to step into their full potential. Thank you for always bringing such positivity and encouragement here-it really means the world! 💖
We seem to become invisible as we age. But i am ok with that.
It's interesting how our perspectives change with age. Embracing the invisibility can lead to a deeper sense of self and freedom! 💙
Hey Joane, this video really resonates with me. I've definitely felt a sense of existential loneliness, even when surrounded by people. Many us in midlife experience a sense of isolation. By talking about it and connecting with others, we can find strength and support. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. x❤
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! 🌸 I completely understand that feeling of existential loneliness, especially in midlife when so many of us are going through transitions. It’s a strange paradox, isn’t it? To be surrounded by people but still feel isolated. I agree that speaking openly about it and finding community can really help us feel seen and supported. We all need those spaces where we can share and heal together. Sending you love and strength on your journey. x 💖
I know it’s been repeated, but having a RUclips community has been a tremendous blessing. It’s not face-to-face interaction, but it is so helpful.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I completely agree; it's amazing how much support we can give each other, even from behind a screen.
Agreed x❤
The void ❤
I'm not afraid to reinvent myself; I actually find it exhilarating. My idea of success is definitely different from most people. An example of a successful person to me, is someone who sells everything to travel the world and live out their passions. ❤
Exactly! It is so subjective. My moon is in Sagittarius my friend and I love to travel and explore, so I get you. 😘
Thank you for your video. I really needed to hear this. Without fear of judgment from my own family, I probably would have made a radical life change a long time ago. As the black sheep of my family, I already think differently from most people. I've had to adjust my expectations and desires to fit in better. I'm planning a major life change, but I'm taking it slowly to avoid shocking those around me.
Thanks for being here, I appreciate you. I think for us women, because of family, culture and society dynamics-tend to be overly cautious when planning a change in life. Simply because of all that is projected on to us. I hope that together we manage to change this by speaking more about it and advocating for ourselves. Together we are so much stronger. Something needs to change. 🙌❤️❤️❤️
There is only one of us, there is no competition, the only competition is with ourselves to better ourselves. Collaboration over competition any day 🙏
@@JasenomadeTV Well said, Jase! 🙌🙏❤️
Love this! In my creative business sphere (voiceover) a lot of people position themselves as competitors to one another. A large pool of talent competing for a small number of jobs. I've always considered others as colleagues instead and often times refer work to other people I know. In my work, I like to believe that there is a single voice that's right for every project and that may not be my voice. As is the case, if I know someone who is a better fit, I'm happy to refer them instead. I like to think it shows I run my business with integrity (and it helps me sleep better at night lol).
I love your perspective! It’s so refreshing to hear from someone who views others as colleagues rather than competition. Your approach of referring work to others shows such a strong sense of integrity, and you're right-it’s a powerful way to build long-lasting connections and trust in your business. In a world that often pushes scarcity thinking, it’s inspiring to see how abundance in mindset leads to more meaningful success. And yes, sleeping better at night is a win! 😊 Thanks so much for sharing your insights!
Joan, I'm going to put this in a playlist I have of videos that I will go back to over and over when I feel like I need to hear and remember important messages. This is so powerful. Thank you.
That's fantastic! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. It means a lot to me that you want to keep my video in your playlist! ❤️
Thank you. Vulnerability can be risky, and it's often knocked me back. But now, at 51, vulnerability has become a superpower for me. It's the true expression of myself, and if others don't appreciate it, they're simply not meant to be in my life x
I am with you, Jase. I'm a similar age (52), and I think life is too short. We are here to express, experience, create, and evolve. I don't think I can do that without allowing myself to be vulnerable and have deeper connections to life and others. xx
Indeed vulnerability is a double-edged sword. ⚔️
It can be, it is also how we develop meaningful relationships in life.
Being authentic rather than seeking approval sounds like a really liberating plan to me! Thanks for your words of wisdom❤
You're so welcome! ❤️ And thanks for stopping by!
I’m in a true “in-between” place right now, as I unmask my autistic self. It’s very uncomfortable for me, but I must do this in order to feel free from all the trauma of living in alignment with others all these years. Thank you Joane. ❤
I get it! That in-between feeling can be rough, but you’re doing fantastic work. Just keep pushing through; soon, you’ll feel like you found your centre! It also goes without saying that we are all different and experience autism in our own way; there is no right or wrong way to do anything. Whatever, feels good for you, should be your priority. ❤️
My life, my terms ❤
Life passes too quickly if we don't allow ourselves to fully experience it in the way that feels right to us. To me, this does not make any sense. 🥰
I really resonated with this video. It stirs up so many thoughts for me. Harder than anything is the rejection from family when choosing to be true to yourself. Thank you for this thought-provoking video 🙏🏾
So true, Jase! Thanks for sharing. I also experienced that myself with my family and those I considered friends years ago. But I like to believe that, and I am sure you see that too, that these experiences helped us develop discernment concerning those we choose to have in our lives. 💕
"Living life in your own terms" is my moto but it comes with a high price tag. As you said, it's not that straight forward
It does, indeed, Jase. And I don't know about you, but I look back and feel I would not change a thing. For me, peace of mind is priceless.
Your life, your terms. Thanks for the reminder Joane
Absolutely! 🙌
@@MindSoulGrit let’s love the shit out of our lives and show our happiness
@@xploradora8099 I’m always amazed at what I learn when I visit Joane’s channel! 💕✨
Much courage is needed to be authentic, being true to yourself, like you say is the biggest part. I love what you said that not everyone will get it or you and that's ok.
I feel like the term "authenticity" is overused on social media, so I wanted to share my thoughts about it. Even though it's subjective. We often see others online telling us how to live authentically, but in fact, there's no right or wrong way - it's whatever feels right to you.
@@MindSoulGrit it’s a buzz word being used, I feel
@@xploradora8099 I know; I think this is unfortunate because there is value in living on your own terms and doing what aligns with your principles regardless of what others think.
I've never had a passion, which is difficult because society almost makes you feel like you should have one, follow it into a career and be highly successful. As a kid I always answered with 'Happy' when people asked me what I wanted to be. And I am, overall. Life has its ups and downs, but overall, I am very happy and content. But I don't have a passion. Tonnes of interests, but no passion, nothing I'm willing to sink 200 hours a week into, because it would burn me out again and I refuse that. So I'm here at my less than average paying job, but at least I can work from home so that's great for my mental health. Sorry, I'm rambling.
Thank you for sharing this-it resonated with me deeply. Society does put so much pressure on finding that "one passion," but honestly, peace of mind and happiness are invaluable. It sounds like you've found a sense of balance that works for you, and that’s a success in itself! Not everyone is wired to pour hundreds of hours into a single thing, and that’s perfectly okay. Your happiness and well-being are what truly matter, and it sounds like you’ve built a life that honours that. 💛 And no worries, you're not rambling at all-sometimes we just need a space to talk it out! Take care! 😊
