The Incredible Rise Of JetBlue: How & Why The Airline Is Winning
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 17 мар 2021
- JetBlue has truly disrupted the US aviation industry over the past 20 years. It has gone from having just one Airbus A320 to a fleet of over 270 aircraft.
Is it now one of the top airlines serving the US. Later this year, the airline is planning to launch transatlantic routes with a game-changing premium product.
In an industry dominated by global behemoths with massive route networks and storied histories, how has this relatively young airline managed to succeed where many others have failed?

Hey everyone! We listened to all of your feedback, and Long Haul by Simple Flying is back, with the same voiceover that you know and love!
Thanks to everyone for their continued support in Simple Flying, and goodbye Takeoff!
With love, the Simple Flying team!
You’re furst
Ok
Good.
Thanks. Takeoff was just too generic.
Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
I flew JetBlue just twice with red-eye flight from SFO to IAD and back in 2005. The best part was the cabin crew playing UNO game in the rear gallery while many passengers slept. They let me join them and let me be the "honorary cabin crew" for a few hours. While we played the game, I pulled the snacks and drinks out of serving carts and gave them to the passengers who requested them. It was so much fun and helped pass the time quickly!
That's awesome. There is something amazing about the fact that the cabin crew were playing uno in the back. In addition the fact that they let you join them is super awesome. Passengers probably thought it was weird when another passenger brought them their snacks. :)
JetBlue crews seem to have real high morale and deliver some pretty excellent service. I got an extra drink on one flight where I was wearing a JetBlue t-shirt. :)
@@cco53587 their wages are probably high hence better service
mine was EWR to MCO in 2019
You forgot to mention that David Neeleman also founded Azul Airlines (Brazil's third largest airline) and is in the process of founding another company, Breeze Airways. The man is unstoppable.
Fun fact: Azul means "blue" in portuguese, Neeleman seems to really love this colour
@@zikalokof1challenge414 Considering he's worked for Southwest, founded Breeze and Westjet, which all have blue in their liveries as well, I think I can guess his favorite color lmao
@@teepicgamer7374 Lol
His nephew is now the QB of the New York Jets, a team JetBlue sponsors whose colors N746JB has carried for years.
@@zikalokof1challenge414 neel means blue in india 😂
YES! A channel that listens to its viewers win for simple flying
yay! resubbed on my 60 accounts!
What was the previous name? I remember not liking it and just ignoring the channel
The biggest bed of any US airline. And it's on a budget airline. In a narrowbody. Now that is amazing.
Also, very glad to see long haul back. Thank you!
Excited to have JetBlue in London!
My JetBlue experience has been great, flown many times from JFK to Gye Ecuador, love the wifi that actually works, and decent legroom on the 321neo.
Nyc to gye my fav route
As a New Yorker we consider JetBlue "our hometown airline' . Their route structure is set up to serve destinations that we New Yorkers frequently fly to like Florida, major west coast cities and the Caribbean. David Neeleman is a genius he knew that New York, the largest city and metropolitan area in the US wasn't served by Southwest at the time, other than small out of the way Islip Airport on eastern Long Island. And the low cost wannabes set up by the legacy majors aren't cutting it . So he launched a Southwest for New Yorkers out of the horrible but then way underused JFK with a few little extras.
As a Bostonian, it is the same here
As a New Yorkerite (as in a citizen of New York city) I can say that too
Yeah I’ve def noticed. I’m a west coaster myself and love to fly jet blue when I go to the east coast but I can never find any good flights between the west coast destinations and the south. For that I have to fly southwest but I do love JetBlue
I fly JetBlue 6 times a year, easily my favorite airline
I can't say enough about how much I love JetBlue. The amazing people are the most important part of this company. I'm not a huge fan of flying but the TV's and small planes make flying easier. I have been so spoiled flying JetBlue. When I had to fly Delta from Cody, WY to Salt Lake City, I boarded that old, tired plane and it mad me a JetBlue fan even more...if that's possible.
Sounds like you were on Delta Connection; probably a dumpy old Skywest regional jet. Delta’s got a great product too, just like jetBlue, but some of those little markets get run down regional jets operated by partners that don’t do the brand justice.
WOOHOO! LONG HAUL IS BACK! I LOVE THAT YOU ACTUALLY LISTEN TO FEEDBACK!
They even made a poll, look at the community posts on this channel lol
@@airbus_a320neo I know, I voted for Long Haul in the poll.
JetBlue is my favourite airline in america imo
Yes, So happy you took into consideration our feedback! Glad to have the old voice over voice and Long Haul name back.
Thank you for the old voice and name you truly care for your fans
Jet blue is rapidly taking a mega chunk of the US low cost and domestic market
Long Haul > Takeoff
agreed even tho i still like de slitely defrant old lon hol logo and intro
@@ATIMELINEOFAVIATION English failed
Much more bespoke!

I missed Long Haul
Jet Blue have done a great job of keeping themselves ahead of the game, fantastic work!!!
The answer to the video title is simple. Fair (not cheap) prices, great onboard service, great onboard product.
I've flew JetBlue so much and I think it's the best airline out there. I always had a great experience.
Boston airport (my home airport) is a major JetBlue hub, it is definitely my go to airline.
Same
Yea is not bad
If u think Boston is major try Over here in JFK 🤣😂 in New York fuckers have a multimillion dollar hub n dozen of planes parked up 24/7
I had flown in JetBlue twice on my trips to Puerto Rico. I flew in an A320 & A321. Their service is really great. The flight attendants were very helpful & courteous. It's one of my favorite airlines. I hope to fly again with JetBlue again.
If JetBlue are coming to the UK I would love to see them do MAN to JFK now that we've lost Thomas Cook. I flew by JetBlue A321 on overnight flight Oakland to JFK two years ago - friendly crew, great value ($129 !) and the most hassle-free flight I've had - would definitely use them again.
I have flown 3 times on jetblue and all the times were amazing.
I always read the JetBlue names, and I can confirm I have flown on “Shades of Blue”,
And even though I had no idea at the time, I flew on the RetroJet!
just watched the Video and i gotta say i like the new style on how Long Haul is going to do their videos it kinda has that vibe when they had some takeoff videos it seems like Long Haul is going to integrate the style of Takeoff in their Long Haul videos which i do like it brings that xtra special Quirk to their videos Keep up the fantastic work and glad Long Haul by Simple Flying is back
I've flown JetBlue 4 times (2 round trips), and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
JetBlue is by far my favorite US carrier and my preferred choice when traveling domestically, Delta comes second.
Welcome back Long Haul... Love your channel
Best airline in terms of value all in all. I hate the Embraers in general, doesn’t matter the airline, but those A220s will be legendary in revolutionizing their service. Will def be flying a lot more of them soon
I have flown Jet Blue 2 times in the past 5 years. What an amazing airline. I think if more people knew how great they were more people would fly them. I was super impressed with everything - love this airline alot!! I hope to be on more routes where I can fly them more often!
Very nicely done this new video layout ! Congrats😍😍
Yes way to go! Thanks for listening to us.
It's Back baby!!❤️
I love JetBlue! I am hoping to visit Europe later this year, so the new London routes are exciting news. Here's hoping I can be on one of the first flights.
I flew Jet Blue in 2019 to Las Vegas. I love that they serve smaller airports (I fly out of BTV). The fact that I don't have to fly on small regional jets on them is lovely.
Great video! And I love that you brought back the "Long Haul" name, it's so fitting! JetBlue seems like the "Target" of U.S. airlines while Delta, American and United are basically Macy's or Costco, and Southwest is the "Walmart" of the sky.
I wouldn't sully Costco's brand and rep with that of the US legacy carriers. Delta is somewhat ok sometimes but American and United are crap most of the time.
Let's not forget Spirit and Frontier, the Dollar Tree of the skies
I strongly recommend the podcast episode of How I built this: JetBlue from NPR.
I am really looking forward to fly Transatlantic route JFK to Heathrow in their new airline ❤️... Awesome video ❤️❤️
they cant get slots into Heathrow
It will be in Stanstead I think
I think they will fly to Gatwick
To wrap this up, it has now been announced that they will fly to both Heathrow and Gatwick.
Great video. Yes I still fly JetBlue. Love the roomy leather seats and blue Patagonia chips. JFK to BQN direct route is awesome.
Another great video Simple flying! I work for one of the top Asian carriers and before that worked in Canada struggling as a young pilot while my wife is a Flight attendant with a Canadian outfit. Hands down JetBlue takes care of passengers as one of their own. We’ve flown on Standby lots even with a baby on JetBlue and did they ever take care of us. We got upgraded twice to the front of the plane, round trip from JFK to Jamaica, so we had more room and made life much easier to get on and off the plane. Before that we flew with JetBlue to St. Lucia from Seattle. I flew on confirm tickets while my wife flew standby. She ended up getting premium and I got stuck on the back. The crew found out we sat separately and offered me a upgrade so we can be together. While in JFK we didn’t make the last flight of the day to St. Lucia and spent the night in the terminal. Ground crew found out and gave us cots to lay on until early next morning. Amazing company culture that has not been seen by any other airline. I write this while in Cancun, having flown standby with two boys on Westjet the day before. I came across this JetBlue video and read the comments from other passengers and felt compelled to give our experience. The Blue hospitality was night and day compared to the home grown Green , or Teal for the Canadians in the industry. Keep up the great work JetBlue family.
I’m so glad you brought the name back!
That's an informative, slick little documentary. 👌🏼👍🏼
1:10 that aircraft right there, N763JB is the exact plane in my wallpaper
Just flew buf-jfk-tpa last week. Another great jet blue trip
I love this channel. And I truly miss flying.
I’ve never flown JetBlue but they seem to have an awesome product! I’d love to fly them some day!
Glad you’ve bought back the Long Haul name and the original narrator. Liked the new look too
love JetBlue, the crew, and service are what make the difference, and they know how to make your flight a real JetBlue experience.
Great job guys!
I flown with JetBlue alot and it's my favorite airlines around. Now that I'm living in Canada and not Jamaica I missing out on flying with JetBlue. Wish they would consider coming to YYZ next.
I’m flying on JetBlue in two months to Las Vegas! I hope it goes well 🤞
I wonder if JetBlue will ever fly to Canada. 🇨🇦 Would be nice to see them fly to YYZ.
Don't think they will since they'll be competing with Neeleman's other airline.
@@skqwid803 Fair point, wish there was more transboarder routes and options from other US carriers coming into YYZ.
I have an inside to jetblue. Canada (Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal) is currently in the works!
@@daysondamuni6031 Hoping that come true. :)
Canada’s taxes on flying there make it a loss... $’s 😞
😭🤧 I’m so happy you’re back 🎉🎉🎂💙💙
JetBlue, best airline in the industry 💙💚💙 team blue all the way
Yaayyy thanks for listening us man!!
Haven't flown with them yet, but I do remember seeing a JetBlue plane for the first time in Ft. Lauderdale in 2005.
Just subscribed today and already loving this channel....thumbs up Long Haul for your nice videos
I've flown many different carriers over the years.....haven't been disappointed with jetBlue. The seatback TV, WiFi access, snacks and the SPACE for your legs is a game changer. Mint is also superb. All for a reasonable price.
Thank you for sharing..
A+ for JetBlue
Can’t wait to bring my Burger King crown on the plane ☺️
Was looking for this comment
I've traveled with JetBlue from Orlando to Newark an I had a wonderful. I will always fly with them
THANK YOU SO MUCH
I flew jetBlue from New York to Florida when they were just starting. I was impressed. Great flight and great flight attendedents plus leather seats
Long haul is much better than take off thanks for bringing it Back simple flying team
never flown jetblue as i live in the UK, however, i might try to hop on one of the london - new york routes once things settle down potentially next year
You brought the name back, yes
Thank you for listening to her feedback, please keep these videos coming.
It's amazing to me that they've grown into an airline seasonably serving MTJ and HDN
Amazing 👏🏾
I am an international traveler and Jet Blue are at the top of my list.
Will have to fly JetBlue next time I go to New York (from Seattle, for context); glad to see SeaTac getting the same cross-continental service that LA and San Fran are getting
Best value available.
always have been a loyal jetblue flier. i wish i was taking them on my upcoming trip to savannah, but the timing of the flights didn't work out :(
i am happy with the reversion to the long haul name. thank you
great videos love them
I rarely get to fly them living down here in Texas, but when I do they are great. And their product has forced my preferred airline Delta to step up its game.
Brilliant ❤️
I used to fly American and Delta, but once I started with Jetblue, I joined their rewards program and havent flown anything else since. Nothings compares!
JetBlue’s biggest rivals right now are Delta and United! They’ve grown so quickly.
Go for it, JetBlue!
I fly Delta, although I did have one uncomfortable experience with them returning home on May 1st, the day they lifted the no middle seat reg, and I got stuck in the middle seat on both legs of my flight home, all 77-7/8" inches of me, and my back hurt for days. Still I am flying them again next month as I enjoy transiting thru Atlanta Jackson-Hartsfield, nice airport. I am going to try jetBlue in the near future, perhaps on a short hop to the west coast from my southwestern home.
I flew mint from EWR to LAS in February and Loved it. So much so I bought JFK to LAS on Mint in May! Love JetBlue almost as much as Southwest. If Southwest had affordable First Class like JetBlue it would be the greatest airline in my opinion.
I've flown JetBlue only a few times in Economy, but the experience was AMAZING!!! Their entertainment system was great, their food and drinks were great, and overall, just a great experience. (I do hope they get wide-bodies, and if they do, what would the interior look like?)
"Are ya winning Son?"
JetBlue: Yes, I'm winning.
Jetblue!!! Let's Go !!!!
Have flown JetBlue regularly in recent years to visit family in Jamaica (JFK-KIN), and LOVE them. They have liberated us from the higher costs and poorer service - to Kingston, Jamaica -- of American. AA's cabin crew can often be incredibly rude & snippy. I've not had that experience yet on JetBlue.
Beautiful airline to travel on
You're almost at 50k subscribers already!
Nice
Best Airline for seating and comfort Love JetBlue
The color of the JetBlue airline is awesome. The blue color is what I like. That airline name and the blue color go hand in hand.
Can you do a video on WestJet? I think that would be really interesting to see the differences between the two.
JetBlue is my second favorite airline after spirit airline....can’t wait to fly JetBlue to London in august
Hello to everyone, I haven’t flown in JetBlue yet. But, I have booked this airline for my next adventure. I heard very good about JetBlue and I am very excited to fly in its Airbus 320 economy class. This airline is offering the best in the market. As free WiFi, better legroom and the best staff who are very helpful and kind. I can’t wait and see you soon JetBlue.
I worked at building materials company out of Brooklyn when jetblues started building terminal 5. I delivered tons of materials thru the front and the back.... then became loyal customers when i moved go Orlando FL in 2012. Flying back to NY 4 times years. Havent fly with them i the las 1.5 so I am about to find out.... next weekk flying out of atlantla to ny..... free round trip fry with the miles for 3people..great aitlime
JetBlue just has a fantastic product and customer service. I don’t get to fly them very often now that I live outside of the tri-state area but their E-190 economy has to be one of the absolute best regional economy products in the world. Remember the difference on a BUF-JFK/LGA trip, flew down in a US Air Dash 8 -100 and flew back in a new E-190.
I LOVE JetBlue!
JetBlue represent!
I’ve seen vids about the mint cabin from nonstop Dan, I have to say I was impressed this airline seems better than AA, delta and united
Looking very nice...
