Numerous United Airlines Incidents Experienced Since The Start Of 2024

- From a public and media perspective, United Airlines hasn’t been having a great 2024 thus far. Indeed, when examining incidents logged by The Aviation Herald and other sites, the Star Alliance carrier has already experienced a long list of incidents - many of which required diversions. In fact, there were SO many incidents within a short period of time that the FAA decided to review the airline’s operations...

united: uniting all the incidents to the one airline.
7:19 bro knew what he was doing with the path 💀
NO.
@@slavemi3018 he definitely knew 🤣
ATC vectors not the pilot
😂
@@iiCautious I totally forgot
It's hard to make anything of this without knowing what the number of comparable incidents was last year or what it is for an airline relative to its size during a comparable period.
Exactly, although some of these were serious, there needs to be context with Delta and American.
The song United Breaks Guitars has been upscaled to United Breaks Planes lol
There should've been a song called United Breaks Noses given the doctor incident all those years ago 😂
Hahaha I actually made a joke about this a few weeks ago.
So far United Breaks…
- Guitars
- People
- Planes
Wonder what will be broken next? Any bets?
United...You broke my Boeing Airplanes!
@@turquoiseninja4534should be their own company
Another great video! Thank you for effort you put into this videos❤!
Are you going to put out the same video with Delta or American to actually making these statistic meaningful?
On a related question: How many or what percentage of senior maintenance personnel retired/quit from United during COVID? United's incidents may be a reflection of a "brain drain" within the carrier.
And some people blame Boeing for this
they united all of the aviation disasters into one
Most of the incidents are with B737, B767 and B777. Something bad is going on with the ground maintenance.
united fleet mostly constitutes with boeing.
@@prasenjittripura4691Yeah, OLD Boeings
The IAH slide off runway and taxiway was pilot error.
@@dashingexplorer2840 yup

U forgot the one about B77W taking off from Sydney with hydraulic leak. Pretty serious stuff that u omitted
Age of each aircraft and/or time on wing for engines Cycles of airframe as replacement aircraft is pushed out even further as well delays in maintenance to achieve higher passenger throughput
Yea, both pandemic work stoppages and Boeing max stoppages have added delays to both carriers
Retirements of more experienced, better paid people and reduced flight volume during pandemic means also means likely less experienced maintenance (based on a comment on someone claiming to be in airline maintenance, people were encouraged to retire early during pandemic to save the airlines money)
Also could be possible cost cutting, where less experienced/worst paid people are favoured over more experienced people. Not sure if that's happening with United, it's happening in a lot of industries tho
Then there is also possibly out sourcing to less experienced and regulated areas to save money.
So, less experienced maintenance maintaining more aircraft more prone to break.
At least they no longer beat elderly asian doctors...
Is there fleet pretty old?
their average fleet age is 16.3 years so yeah their fleet is old
One thing to note here is that 90% of them are American companies which have parts and maintenance issues.
Boeing, Pratt and Whitney etc.
It is a short step from incidents to accidents
Geez so many involving a SFO flight. 😒
So much I lost track counting
You left out the UA 767 that dragged its tail during take off at IAD on 20 Apr 2024.
Human factor
Boeing is under the line of fire with the incidents this year. However....I am surprised these incidents are only involving US carriers.
So, is it a Boeing problem or a lack of US carriers maintencance?
land of Layoffs and management bonuses starting to take its toll.
In all of these cases it looks like maintenance issues and one down to pilot error.
So we're just going to chalk up an engine failure and hydraulic leak causing a fire on an Airbus aircraft as Boeing's fault, too?
That's a lot of bad luck for United
The first suspect would be maintenance. Let's see what the FAA has to say.
A handful of incidents over about 160,000 flights. Much to do about nothing.
It seems United Airlines have to go throught this bad luck for this year of 2024.
Some of those diversion choices seem weird to me. Why fly past viable airports when there's a serious problem?
Maintenance maintenance maintenance
A lot of these "incidents" are the exact same things happening at every major carrier around the world daily, just receiving more media attention to make them sensational. Not really news- worthy.
For the most part, except for hitting the manhole, it seems to be maintenance issues. All pilots landed their planes safely. So maybe United need to update their maintenance procedures and perhaps hire a few more staff if it's a workload issue. Obviously, this is a purely speculative thought process from me and would be willing to be corrected if I'm wrong.
goodbye united, helllooo deltaa
somebody please call a priest we are cursed!😁
Opinion: this carrier did not follow recommended procedures for storing aircraft during the pandemic for economic reasons. Now, such aircraft are failing more frequently than other carriers after return to normal duty cycles.
Remember when they used to break guitars 😂
This is what happens when a company prioritizes DEI over competence.
United get your stuff together
Looks like their maintenance game is really lacking at the moment!
I have travelled many times and flown many airlines, but for now, I prefer not to fly with United
They’re one of the biggest airlines in the world, I think top 3, they have thousands of flights every, maybe even like 4000 flights daily, you’re good trust me
@@davidajayi1207 I understand that, but American Airlines also has thousands of flights and they are not having these problems. Of course is still safe to fly United but if I have a choice I prefer to fly another airline like AA 🙂
Actually, APA who represents pilots at AA wrote a letter to their members that was leaked to the press raising their concerns about recent safety practices at AA.@
Delta is the best.
Like Manufacturer (Boeing) like customer (United) i want to hear what scott kirby has to say for his Airline now.
Because the woke airlines prioritize DEI over safety
I bet you can’t even define woke
I counted, there are at least 18 incidents by United so far in 2024
Let's blame the aircraft manufacture. Nothing at all to do with maintenance.
boeing has manufacturing issues only on current planes
well the majority of incidents in this video have been on boeing aircraft. so if it was only in regards with maintainance i would expect roughly equal airbus - boeing incident distro
@@user-gi7vi9gm4t this is just for united. Take a look at all incidents from Boeing and Airbus aircraft from the start of this year till now. You will see they average out
so its the fault of airbus for the engine failure and hydraulics issues on the a320 and its the fault of boeing for a wheel falling off a 777
Why all this bad news about United? Why not a positive note about United? Did you know that United may be the world's DEI champion among airlines in 2024, for instance?
Since 2021 United has been working hard to achieve this remarkable success. In an official statement on United's website we can read:
"Our purpose-driven commitment to DEI is the right thing to do-and it's an essential driver of our growth and sustainable financial success.”
Everyone saying they won't fly on United now is therefor racist or a bigot or phobic towards certain minorities, supporter of the patriarchy.
yes but safety of crew and customers is far more important than DEI. safety could be the difference between life and death, whereas DEI not so much
😂
Kinda hard to support them when they don’t seem to really care about making their flights safe for their passengers this airline is infamous for having long lines of customers complaining, from all these maintenance issues to the time a United passenger was beat up and dragged off the plane unconscious for refusing to give up the seat he paid for to United airlines employees when the airline made a mistake and needed to send some people on a fully booked flight. Dunno about you but I prefer airlines where they don’t treat my physical safety like a game of hit and miss.
I think United Airlines needs to do more maintaining of their aircraft's !! PREMENTIVE MAINTAINENCE MIGHT BE IN ORDER SOMEBODY IS NOT DOING THEIR JOB!! ONCE AGAIN 90% BOEING AIRPLANES THAT WHY I DON'T FLY BOEING AIRCRAFT !!!!!!
GO AIRBUS!!!!❤
sooo, but it wasn't Boeing problem though... majority was united problem, just cos a landing gear fell of that isn't Boeing problem. if anything its the ground crews problem for not doing their job properly, so it begs the question, WHAT IF THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO AIRBUS AND GROUND SCREWED UP WHILE WORKING ON AN AIRBUS JET??!!
@@fredericmarohn-bh4qr i prefer boeing tbh
@@fredericmarohn-bh4qr except none of these incidents are boeings fault and some of their airbus planes have had problems too
@@animegamingdudeYou can’t reason with such idiots
United's obsession with DEI is just one of their problems. Another is generational. Young people working or flying for an airline do not have the same discipline and attention to detail my generation had. They learned in public school that you do not have to get the right answer to make the honor roll, since close is good enough. That does not work in the aviation business. I was a pilot for United for 29 years, 1986-2015 and in those years, we aspired to excelence in every job position from pilot to mechanic and more. Not happening today.
Not flying this terrible airline anytime soon
