So the founder of the company saves the brand and is adamant in insuring that such an event never occurs again gets the boot. His replacement demorolizes the entire company and the guy who personally profited of this by replacing David as the chairman of the board now tells us it was the right decision.

That was the most vague justification for booting a CEO I’ve ever seen. Why did the board no longer have faith in his abilities when he just saved the brand? Was it because the board thought he was weak and wasted his time caring about passengers?
my thoughts exactly. guess it had to do w bc of confidentiality issues. dunno.
I think the main reason is branding. Unless he is a tough kinda CEO which has a persona larger than the company, once there is a crisis, you want to see a fresh face.

There was a snowstorm in (if I remember correctly) December, 2012. There was a lot of people on vacation stranded, many of them were scheduled to fly back to JFK on JetBlue.
