  • This video shows you a faster way to create a playlist for your RetroArch / RetroBoot build. Scanning can absolutely be done on the Playstation Classic, however it takes a very long time. This method is a bit more invasive, but it can scan a large volume of games in a fraction of the time.

    when you edit the playlist folder on your "C" drive, does that make it so you have to re scan if you want to use retroarch on your pc? would it make more sense to send all the playlists to the usb drive first, then edit?

      I think easier to recreat the hole list, but you can add new lines and add new games, you need to replace the name part and you good to go.

    Hi, I'm quite new to using RetroArch. I have some SNES roms that load and play fine, but I can't get them to show up in a playlist. Since they're not in a playlist I can't access them from the autobleem evolution UI. Any help would be appreciated. Love the channel. Keep up the good work

      Restalgia Hi :). Thanks for the reply.. Yes.. I know the video shows how to make a playlist. That’s not my issue.. My problem is that my rom doesn’t show in the playlist. When it scans only 2 of the 10 ROMs I have show up. How do I get it to discover the other 8 ROMs? I tried scanning folder and scanning file. It won’t add them to the playlist.

    I seem to be having trouble downloading the thumbnails for SNES. Have you had any success? I've tried 3 different ways to get the boxart with little success. The list doesn't seem to be complete from the thumbnailpacks.libretro website. The second method I tried was when I found a zip file with all the games boxart and renamed them to match the actual roms but it doesn't pair it with the boxart when I scan the directory. The method shown in this video is my 3rd attempt particularly for SNES, it downloads the zip file and immediately disappears from the directory without unzipping itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I really want to play the English translated versions of Dragon Quest on the Super Famicom. Is there a way to do this on the Playstation Classic? Or maybe just a Raspberry Pi 3?

    • @vol_opt
      @vol_opt 5 лет назад

      Yes, you can play translated Super Famicom ROMs on PlayStation Classic. You just add them the same way you'd add any other Super Nintendo ROM.

    • @hualni
      @hualni 5 лет назад

      @@vol_opt The hurdle I'm hitting is with translating the ROM. Are you referring to ROMs that are already translated?

    • @higashi6969
      @higashi6969 5 лет назад +2

      @@hualni is the translated rom your trying to use the full rom or just a dlc of the rom? if its a dlc rom then that means it needs a parent rom in the directory with it to be able to launch as if it was the full rom. you should be able to tell if its an addon/dlc rom by the size of the rom. example tmnt.zip full rom might be 3kb, if the translated or modified rom your trying to use say tmnt2pu.zip is smaller say 1.5kb its most likely an addon/dlc rom. in that case you would need the parent rom which would be tmnt.zip and the tmnt2pu.zip in the same directory for the modified rom to be able to run. it starts up the modified rom but uses the main/parent rom to be able to run. the only prob with this in retroarch is when you scan a dlc rom it doesnt see it as a legit rom and will not add it to a playlist, if there is a way to force it to show im not aware of it. not sure if this is the problem your having but thought id throw this out there. i have found a way to run a dlc rom in retroarch tho. load content directly and once you get the game up and running, just select start out and add to favorites for quick access later. its a work around but it works.

    • @hualni

      @@higashi6969 Yeah, That's the issue I've been running into. I'm almost at the point where I'll just but the Japanese carts, then buy jumpers from Voultar and get the translations online. It requires a modicum of soldering skills, which I lack at this time. If I find a work around, I'll definitely let you know. Thank you!!

      The Arch in retroarch is short for architecture. Which is why it is often referred to as retroar"k". If you were to shorten the architecture word, you wouldnt say ar"ch" because arch has its own meaning.
