John was way more important to this band than I realized back in the day. Once he left and that other guy they had just didn't cut it. I am glad to see him come back.
@@mlundy7189 "That other guy"? come on man, I am not comparing both in any way, but give credit where credit is due. It was incredibly difficult to fill John's shoes, but Josh did an outstanding job and kept the band running for 10 years. Not an easy feat to achieve.
Have you heard many bassists? Or let me put it another way. I think what you mean to say is he's your favorite bassist of all time .... because ... how can one make a factual statement about who the best of all time is when it comes to art or music?
Whenever I am depressed and feel like busting out crying, I go to the Chili Peppers. sometimes that music seems like the only thing in the world that makes sense to me. I can cry with something and someone who seems to understand it. Thank you
I think it's the quiet acceptance of the way things are. RHCP speak to me because, similarly to Radiohead, the music is more about acceptance of hurting rather than overcoming and sugar coating it. It's not about the happiness but the beauty of sadness. ^That is some poetic shit right there.
Sorry to tell but there is no best band and that is good for us, Rock lovers, so many quality that i´m glad that i born in 77 and choose to be a rock lover.
As a whole, this is my favorite band of musicians. Frusciante, Flea and, yes, Chad, are all talented musicians. I went to a Chad Smith drum clinic in Montreal many years ago, and he tore it up. Check out his timing and footwork...all amazing. Frusciante and Flea shared something special in the studio but even more when live. I miss that. Flea tries with Klinghoffer but there's a serious lack of the Frush/Flea flow of magic. Kling is alright but lacks in the backing vocal department as well. The best RHCP lineup, IMHO, is the one in the video. Hands down.
It’s easy to miss talent in this band cause you can focus on just one of them being insane at what they do and forget the others are there. They’re all just un fucking real
Because JF’s beautiful and melodic guitar playing overpowers the other instruments; however, this doesn’t mean that the drums and bass don’t contribute to the overall sound❤️
The band was at their best in this performance, but John is simply outstanding!!! The improvisation, the solo, the last chorus (where he adds extra notes to the chords)... everything so unique and beautiful!!! I will miss you so much John!!
just to remind you that you hawent been hearing this beauty for a while hahahah its just to stupid to bother those that hasnt been here for years so i choosend you hahaha
One of the best rock songs ever. Amazing and unusual drum pattern, one of the best basslines ever, one amazing guitar who expresses all the song, and great singing. A masterpiece.

What makes this music that much better is knowing the trials and errors this band went through with frusciante. He really is a genius melody maker and lyricist. Hope he comes back for one final tour one day...
No disrespect to Josh, he's respectable in his own right. But, these are shoes that are impossible to fill. Unbelievable feel for music. Many guitarists fall into certain categories and styles, but John stands on his own. So unique. Probably won't see another one like him. All 3 are greats on their instruments individually. A trio like no other.

But dat bass doe. This is my favorite song by RHCP!!!!! It's just so chill, and dynamic, and awesome all at the same time, which is why I say, RHCP will live forever with me. God Bless everyone.
7 months ago today, I was ready to take my own life. Everything seemed so pointless, so gray, so bleak. I lost everything I was interested in. My family was so distant from me. I hadn't seen my friends in such a long time, it was like they faded away, crumbling into dust. I was laying in bed, crying, listening to music for what was to be the last time in my life. This song came on shuffle, and I could not stop listening to it. It saved my life. I owe my life to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
I've been listening to this so g science I was a kid, now I'm 32. But I still feel this is a magic song, bass lines, guitar lines vocals, everything, it just has this magic vibe. Not really sure what it is, the circus video or wat, maybe the crazy bass in the outro...
Oh man. I've heard a few covers from this song. Some even do it justice but there is nothing quite like hearing it come from the creators themselves. Flea -- perhaps the most energetic bass player ive seen. Chad just chilling drumming it out as smooth as ever. Anthony with his great charisma and presence and of course Frusciante's riffs which were divine.
+ABDS12 everybody knows slash and jimi and the red hot chili peppers. But not john. But he is better than slash. And i like him a little bit more than jimi
+tryfe10 His guitar skills can be surpassed. But his way of doing it isnt. Like Bonham on drums. Plus his back up voice in most songs is phenomenal like Venice Queen, Zephyr Song, Snow. He really is underrated. His style is like simple but not really simple. I cant explain it. haha
++Willem+ Slash is one of the most overrated guitar players of all time, and one of the most underrated songwriters of all time too! The chilli's music got me through some hard times, it's like they were feeling what I was going through. I would love to see them go another 30 years. Josh is a strummer and John was more of a picker and much louder and he would play with a minimal note line with incredible feeling and soul and define the songs. I love the Chilli Peppers.
