Even after just acquiring the Sigma 24-70 and enjoying the results, I contacted my local shop and put in my pre-order. We'll see if I get first shipment like I did with the A7IV. For me the size/weight reduction and the minimum focus distance at 70mm sold it for me.
Loved using it for my portrait sessions! Can't wait to get my hands on it again :)
I have it and its an absolute masterpiece! The bokeh is outstanding, transition too. Love the linear focusing. Thx Sony! Now we need breathing compensation on FX3 please!

Guys, be careful.
I had to buy three of them.
The first two were so unsharp and blurry, it was a disgrace.
The 3rd one is perfect - edge to edge - corner to corner at all mm and open aperture.
Sometimes the autofocus is bad at 24mm, I hope Sony will provide a firmware update.

No internal zooming? What? You did it with the PZ16-35 lens. Let's get with it, Sony. Internal zooming offers incredible advantages over this archaic design. Smooth effortless zooming with the power slider or remotely is highly desirable, especially for video. Plus, it costs way too much.
But can the price markup justify switching from the TAMRON 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III (A063S)?
