Another great great video. Personally I would go with the Sigma. The Sony’s “extra features” wouldn’t help me much. Again, great video! Thank you Mr. Beast!!!
I don’t need this lens, but watched the entire video. I just really enjoy your content and presentation skills. Your exceptional good looks are also a draw.
Damn this lens looks so good, specially for the L mount. For Sony I would keep an eye out for an used GMII and pay the few extra hundred $ for the reasons you mentioned, in Germany sometimes you can get one in mint condition around 1800$ (including taxes). Btw I laughed so hard at the end, unfortunately my baby daughter woke up 😅😂 You are definitely the Mr. Beast of camera crisis 😁😉
I've been watching your videos for awhile now and as I was watching the intro I thought that maybe you sounded a bit Canadian and then you mentioned you're from Toronto! Fellow Torontonian here! I also want this lens really bad Haha
What do you think vs the Tamron 28-75 G2? That's even cheaper, (I think lighter?), and reaches further. If we pretend you didn't lose the 24-28 would it be the better choice as far as performance?
I just wish they would release a Contemporary version that's considerably lighter. Still, with the new motors and stuff this could be a perfect lens for the S5IIX, especially since you get linear manual focus with Panasonic. Great outdoorsy video, Mr. Beast! :)
To Mr. Beast: Dang, I already have the original one. Not worth it to slightly upgrade. Good to see Sigma up their game with excellent lenses. If only they would reverse the zooming direction of the wheel. I actually prefer the Sony 20-70mm f4 zoom. Very comfortable to use and I don't mind the f4 limitation. Any news about the ZV-E10 mk. 2? Is the rumor of an A6900 valid or just wishful thinking? For macro, I pull out my super excellent Sony 90mm f2.8 marvel of macro lens.
Lol, he thinks I'm Mr Beast, no I don't, I am 😂 Cheers much, Sigma's come along in leaps and bounds and I love your sunflare photo, not many people I've seen can do great sunflare photos like that, you must be like me and walk around noticing exactly where the sun is shining, at any given time of the day 😂😜🤔🤪❤
Definitely one of the things I didn’t research well enough when I switched to Sony from canon is the price of the lenses. Thank goodness was for these 3rd party lenses. 😂
GM II has much less LOCA where it matters at 70mm. The Sigma has better flare resistance. In the end, it's sample variation lottery and centering that will decide
Comparing this new Sigma 24-70 ii against the original Sony 24-70 GM I which one would you get? Right now I can get the original Sony for almost the same price as the sigma in like new condition
it absolutely does, but there are better choices for the zv-e10 because it’s apsc. getting the Sigma 18-50 would be a better choice for the zv-e10 in terms of size and price
Hey, thanks for the review; is there a problem with the chapter points? To me it seems as if each is in origin the step before, beginning with "par focal"? Greetings from germany :)
Hiii if i could buy the sony 24-70 m1 in 970 dollars used and the sigma 24-70 m1 in 1000 new and m2 ind 1400, do you think, would it be worth buying the sigma m2 with this big difference on the price, or is better to go for sony m1 or sigma m1? Also i follow your recommendation and i bought an a7c ii 🤣 I’m so happy with that 🤝
They needed to lower prices 10 years ago. The whole industry does. They manufacture these things by the thousands. There's no reason for these profit margins to be so high other than greed.
hey mark, I'm Indian masters student in USA. I'm watching your videos for a while, they are fantastic and I learn a lot from them. I newly started photography and video making with ZVe10 + sony 18-105 f4 (i like the long range) & kit lens. How well do you think the camera set works for me ?
I still thinking sony is bit more reasonable than other competitors (N/C/P) but yeah this is the competing i wish they lower some prices to match up with those 3rd party companies. besides 2nd hand sigma price way way much going lower
I just bought the sigma contemporary 28-70 last week. Contemplating returning it for this. The thing is I really like how light the 28-70 is. Edit: on a side note I don’t think this art lens is worth $500 US dollars more than the 28-70. The 28-70 is on sale for $700 and this art lens cost $1200 I think maybe for that $500 I’d rather get the Viltrox 16mm.
When using the focus ring. the focus will be in the same spot when you turn the ring so you can work out your focus points and leave it. with non-linear, when you change the speed of the focus ring, the focus will end up in a different spot
I need a lens for my sony ZVE-10 camera which is within my budget with excellent blur effect so that I can shoot real estate video I need your guidance
blur will occur when you use a low fstop like f1.4. There are not very many wide lenses that can give you more blur than that. you can try a more narrow focal range like the sigma 30mm 1.4 - this will make the background look blurrier because of the focal length, but it will be less wode
Sony needs to stop the cripling of 3rd party glass. Its starting to piss me off. And i hope its starting to piss off other people. Because Sony wont change unless they get pushed to do so. Maybe now that Nikon is starting to get 3rd party glass. And they arent restricting them. Sony might be forced to follow. The new Nikon mount Viltrox 16 f1.8 shoots at 30fps on the Nikon Z9. And only 15fps on the Sony A1. And Sony needs to stop restricting focus breathing compensation. Its just time for Sony to fully open up the 3rd party glass.
Certainly great value for money and a great performer but it’s not the absolute best and as outstanding as the GM ii. It don’t beat out the Sony and if economics are not the issue stay with the Sony as I will.
why, what happened to your lens? I’ve never had an issue with any of my sigmas. RUclipsrs aren’t given Sigma lenses. We have to buy them full price like everyone else. Same with most companies: Sigma, Tamron, Sony, Canon. Nikon - they only provide loans for 2 weeks

Sony will keep crippling features of 3rd party lenses on their newer body (no breathing compensation, limit to 15fps on burst shoot mode). But at least they're the only manufacturer that's opened their mount, besides L mount I think
Nikon and Fuji are also allowing only 3rd party. Canon just let in a few sigma lenses so that’s a start. But Sony by far has the most available lenses
non native lenses do bad with stabilisation, big selling point of the zv-e1 is the dynamic stab, having it not working properly is a big down grade.
Dynamic active stab on the ZV-E1 actually does a great job with any lens - very smooth, but it's with the regular active stabilization yo will see a big difference in stabilization with 3rd party lenses. I have a video coming Wednesday to demonstrate
