Welp. There you have it, folks. I’m still glad to be on team Sony after all these years. They don’t constantly deliver what pros and amateurs want, when they want it… but they always/eventually deliver what everyone needs. Mad respect for Sony.

@@alexdavismittelstaedt agree. I'd rather have a collapsing front element like the canon RF. even though all my kit is sony, I did play with that 70-200 RF lens and the size if goes down too is wonderful.

I guess you guys should get into the business of designing and funding the production and distribution of lenses and cameras that can get the end user a cinema camera with an AF zoom lens for $10k. My mind is blown and I understand your criticisms of details, but oftentimes with gear, it is what it is and what you hoped would be landing on Mars is sadly just landing on the moon. 🤷♂️
@@alexdavismittelstaedt What if they tried and it wasn’t possible considering current technology/laws of physics/COGS? Sony have delivered time and again the next wave of affordable pro cinema gear for the pros and amateurs. If they couldn’t change the length and only the weight, maybe it’s best to accept that, after all these years, that’s what it has to be.
guess I need to sell off my 70-200mm GM now. Looks like a full upgrade over the older lenses. Now sony do the same with 24-70mm GM!

It's planned afaik (24-70mm), also this one was expected to happen (70-200) - both rumored few months back.
"old" one (70-200) wasn't really sharp on new cameras with lot of megapixels (A7r IV / A1...)

Agreed. The video of the beautiful running woman on the FX6 is absolutely insane. To be able to capture slow mo with that level of focus and steadiness for under 10k is mindblowing. Sony does it again.

Amazing. 70200 is good lens but here we got features for movie/video creators. I tested mark one 70200 with 7sIII and eye tracking works well without gimbal and even at very fast manual zooming.

I guess no more waiting for Sigma's DG DN Art 70-200mm F/2.8 anymore. Or even worth getting the 1st G-master 70-200mm as that thing is worthless now. Time to get this bad boy.
It's still a good lens at €2300 or less instead of €3000 for this one.
i never got the 70200gm 1st gen as it was so bad.. tamron 70180 was way better at focusing than the 70200 1st gen
@@EverlastingEclipses I never got it either since I only use primes like 135mm 1.8 but I thought it was a good lens, maybe I was wrong.
@@EverlastingEclipses Same here. I played with it when a friend was shooting sports and there were too many back shots with it unless the athlete literally took up the whole frame. Then after that, it was freaking heavy at 3lbs since he didn't use a monopod too. I wouldn't even spend $500 u.s. dollars on the 1st gen lens at all. You would have to give it to me for free to even think about keeping it now. Rather just spend the money on the Version 2 GM now

My OSS I goes on sale. I'd like also a redone version of 16-35f2.8, making it lighter and, maybe, shorter. For me 16-35f2.8 and 70-200f2.8 cover all travel situations. Fast fixed lens are for studios and portraits' pro shootings, imho.
What if this lens put in the Sony Zv E10.. so what will happen to the performance and Quality of the video and photos of SonyZvE10?

Yes. This is normal on zoom lenses, if they support auto focus.

i use my a6400 with Sonys 70-200mm F/4.0 G OSS and it works great for me. it’s meant for Full frame sensors but it’s just as sharp as it could be on a apsc camera
@@reaganpappas9085 great! what do you mainly shoot? I will be shooting sports video and photo so this would be ideal. I would get the Tamron 70-180 but since it doesn’t have IS and neither does the a6400 it would not be good for video.

While all the people still waiting the new 24-70... GM, this means NUTS, Sony always late to launch important things!!
what do you mean always late? The 1st generations G-Masters were released when mirrorless cameras are just getting more powerful. These 2nd generation lenses are launch to keep up with the sony A1 and all future mirrorless cameras that will shoot at 20 fps.
