I finally got brave enough to pull out my snap hoop ruler. So thankful I found this video to show me how to apply the rulers. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Thank you - very helpful! It's silly, I've had my Monster Snap Hoop for several years and never needed to apply my rulers until today - for a quilting class. Your video was quite helpful to me and it looks like many others as well.
I think they leave the rulers off the hoops so you can decide if you want them. Most standard hoops do not have rulers but instead grids. The magnetic hoops don't have grids so they provide optional rulers
This was SUPERB! I bought my first THREE snap hoops before you posted this and really struggled with this. I just bought the Sticky hoop for some embroidery for my daughter's wedding bridal party PJs (translation - don't want to scrrew them up) - I have looked at a lot of RUclips videos and even looked at the DIME blog and couldn't find anything. So thank you, thank you, thank you - I wish DIME referenced their blog and the crosshairs file in the box. Now I will go back and fix the first 3. And I have subscribed to this channel and will go join the Facebook group. Thank you again!
I stitch out the crosshair in all my designs when I am doing anything that needs to be centered such as towels or even corners of napkins. For those corners, I use a corner crosshair and then I can place the napkin directly onto the stabilizer. There is no need to put the rulers on the snap hoop.
Hi Carole! I didn't put my rulers on for a long time, but finally put them on a couple of years ago. I found it very helpful when I was quilting to keep my quilt straight in the hoop. I mostly use my magnetic hoops for quilting. If you don't want them on, leave them off. Do what works for you.
Thanks for the file and tutorial. I did have a bit of an issue separating the hoops after sewing.. I think my stabilizer was so thin and the magnets so strong.
Hi Amy! The Snap Hoops don't have the plastic grids like most standard hoops. They have a new centering tool called Snap Guides on their website which work great and act like the grid.
Great video, unfortunately I attempted to apply them before I watched and messed up 3 of them. I can manage with one and will just mark the sides with a marker :)
Hi Sheri! The link to the design in is the description of the video above, but here is the link for you. blog.dzgns.com/2020/03/how-to-apply-centering-guides-on-snap-hoop-monster/
so I have a Janome and the 8x12 snap hoop monster. My machine does not have that size hoop in it. So when ever I use the monster hoop I don't have the full embroidery area. So ill my cross hairs come out correctly?
I can't find the correct files to download to my usb stick, so that I can embroider out the design to even extend the lines to be able to place my rulers at the zero line. I have been trying for a couple of days now, and I am done.

thank you. I just realized what the "rulers" are for and am attempting to put them on. I had not done this yet. July 2023
The rulers really help to line things up. Took me a long time to put them on too, but really made a difference
Gee, as much as we paid for these you would like the factory would have these placed!
I think they leave the rulers off the hoops so you can decide if you want them. Most standard hoops do not have rulers but instead grids. The magnetic hoops don't have grids so they provide optional rulers
That's what I was thinking too 😂
Thank you for the video, was very helpful. Sure got my fingers black and blue, very powerful magnets.

Thank you! I love my SnapHoop last month and have used it a good bit, but was hesitant to apply the rulers. This was a great help!
Glad I could help!
Thanks for the demo, I did my monster hoop a while ago, needed a refresher video so I can do the sticky hoop! Already to go now.

How do you mark the stitching area, once you have taken out the cross hair you have no guide. All my Pfaff hoops have a design area marked on them.

I would guess no since it sounds like your machine doesn't actually accommodate the full size of the hoop. What is your actual largest hoop size?

Hello, i need the crosshairs for my 5x7 PE800. It's only showing for 4x4 for my machine, but i have a 5x7 LM6 snap hoop for BROTHER
You can use the 4x4 design in the 5x7. It still centers just fine.
What is the Facebook group called for these Dime Snap hoops? I can only find the UK one, and I'm in the US.
Designs in Machine Embroidery has a business Facebook page and Dime Inspiration Software has a Facebook group.

Hi Jani! I believe they are like $4.99 on the Dime website
Thank you

I don’t have a program either that scans the hoop

Be careful not to put any of the ruler over the inner edge. It is very annoying. Thank you for this demo.
Great suggestion! I try to keep the Rulers a little from the edge to they don't pull off.
TOO BAD YOU WAITED THIS LONG TO PUT THE VIDEO ON. MINE ARE NOT PLACED CORRECTLY
So sorry to hear that. I had to order a couple extra sets to replace some of mine so they were correct
unfortunately I can't get it to go to my sewing machine. so this " blog" is useless to me
