- Today we take part in AMVI's mass PvP Persian Gulf mission involving several groups. The GR part was full of tech problems, but we managed to complete the mission just about.

I think I’d have quit with the radio sound quality, the feedback and Darth Vader heavy breathing would have over strained my patience. Kudos to you guys for sticking with it!

i think it's closer to a prayer call in Teheran mixed with some hugely annoying church-bells. Religion is 🤢 all they want is to be the loudest 🤢

there should be a requirement to own a headset. the audio echo was rough. good on you guys for playing through it and not complaining. i would have struggled.

Loved watching the sauce made; as others have said, I would have raged quit with those audio feedbacks.

Neat stuff, and kudos for sticking with it despite all the glitches. I will never understand how so many mil-sim players have open carriers.
After all that and all those bugs and server lag, you fish with a synchronised landing.

This demonstrates beautifully that efficient comms is the true end Level boss in dcs.
Not only you made it back, but in formation landing as well! Good job guys, hopefully mission 2 will be less problematic on the lag side.

Sims are starting to get truly good. This was suprisingly exciting for what it was. Keep pushing the genre forward.

Random but what they host big events like this, what server do they use? They use a home based server or a bought server in a data center? If in a datacenter or colocation, do they pick one that is roughly closest to most of the players? What are the specs of the server?

This just shows the state of ED servers, this is painful, im even getting sick with "that guy" mouth and nose noises, you guys are heroes, if was me i would had left right away after 10 minutes.

Whos idea was to have everything on spekers with voice activate? I would have kicked the guy instantly. Far out. With the piercing squaks and all on loop. I would have raged massively😊

Hey Cap, will you try the new Kola map? Thinking of buying it and want to see you guys trying it out. Maybe NATO against Russia? Striking at the Russian Northern Fleet in Murmansk. Gripen from Sweden. F-35 from Norway and F-18 from Finland. Maybe a US Carrier group north of Norway. Or do it 90s style with Viggen.

No server have no limit, just too much at the moment. Tomorrow we set a limit little bit lower.

you gotta get people to fix their mics and not use their speakers to stop echos when recording audio like this. the audio was pretty bad this whole video.
Yeah, it was like listening to a call in radio show where the people aren't smart enough to turn their radios down. So painful.

how often do you have a chance to fly with Darth Vader!
How much of these problems are really DCS, and how much is it server capability? If a truly high powered server was available how much would that alleviate these problems?
At this point it's a bit of a "who the hell knows" situation. It's the same server that last year managed 100+ clients on a different map, but since update 2.9 Hormuz has been hit or miss. Sometimes it's all smooth, sometimes you explode in holding short with as few as 10 people connected. The other day we noticed a single connection was causing the server frames to drop from 56-60 down to 8-15. There was a test last week with "only" 80 clients and for the most part it was minor lag now and then, nothing unplayable like this time (there has been planes exploding parked on the carrier and helicopters loosing their tails while in flight)
I don;t know. It's beyond my understanding at this point.

The logistics of this was VERY interesting. Darth Vader was a nuisance. AND someone fell asleep... I THINK... I hope our REAL pilots do not do that... especially next time I fly a passenger plane. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
