25:21. Wow. It just. Wow. In the original scene Illidan actually kneel before Kiljaeden making this way more intimidating. Here he just stand there. Kil'jaeden even lean back and take a look at Kaelthas and Lady Vashji. He doesnt even do that here.

In the original Kiljaden looked massive, with fiery eyes and fire surrounds him. Also they removed the floating rock islands in the background and the firestorm during the cutscene. What an upgrade lol
Also I may be wrong, but in the original, the massive version of Kil'jaeden uses the death animation to "vanish" in glowing lights and simply disappear. They seem to have forget about it here, and the reforged one seems to look like he's about to play his normal death animation, he looks like he's about to collapse normally.
It's an important detail to leave out considering it's the only foreshadowing we get of Kael'thas's later betrayal in BC.
Garithos looks sufficiently snooty but I'm still nostalgic for the exaggerated "BLAB BLAB BLAB" mouth animations.

Did anyone notice there's no more character in the dialogue boxes. Everyone just stands then and flaps their mouths. There's no passionate movement of kaels face as he speaks, or his more timmid movement of speaking. The exaggerated headbobbing of illidan gone, that which just made it all the more memorable. They all just stand there, move their mouth like an Oblivion character and that's it. It's so disappointing.
Like in Wow cinematics xD. For example, when Anduin confirms tha the war is over in BFA, then, appears Tyrande talking really angry, but she's jumping & smiling, totally contradictory & you're like WTF xD?

Artists were able to portray Garithos' disgusting personality very well through his face.
Love how Illidans cage changed to a crystal in this, possibly to reflect on how the wardens trapped the Demon Hunter playable class in crystals in WoW
I find it weird how this is the alliance campaign but its 100% focused around a race that ends up joining the horde.
its how they first started. the high elves were always sided with the humans. after Arthas destroyes their homeland the survivors became the blood elves, and were initially still helping the himans, but as we can see they were signed to aid the biggest asshole in their ranks which made them have no choice but to join a rogue faction, because their other option eas extinction because of the stupid racist hegemonistic mindset of an asshole.
They use the Human (Alliance) playable foundation for their buildings and units with many modifications, but doesn't take long for them to abandon the Alliance storywise.
Even though Illidan’s first plans to fight Kil’jaeden fell through with the Burning Crusade, it’s nice to see the Illidari survive and eventually dismantle the Legion. Kael’thas may have lost his way but his people lived on.
For whatever reason, Garithos does not look nearly as snobbish or obnoxious without that massive underjaw and chin that he sported in the original game. The model he's got in this one makes him look more like he's got heavy constipation than being snobbish.
The Draenei Boulder Towers and the Fel Horde's Death Towers have Elven crests LMAO
I don't get why Garrithos hasn't had a mortar shall land on his face already considering how he treats non humans.

See, this is just one of *several* places we could have actively used those promised redone cutscenes and plot. Sure it'd be retcon city but we could actually see Illidan trying to gather forces to take on the Legion, or learn the real meaning behind the Naga following him, or dive deeper with Kael. But, nope. They forget to let the new model kneel before Kiljaedan. Wonderful.
They also doesn't even used the anasterian sunstrider model that they already did. Like for real,why the fuck they even create the model in the first place if they doesn't even used it?

He's a racist, godless cur who practically sent Kael'thas to his death by taking all the support forces for himself. An inept commander who has a bad sense of tactics, a guy who just NEEDS to be killed.
And after reminiscing these cutscenes, I'm reminded of that.
@Frenly - You really need to study up on military strategy more to see what was really going on. Garithos wasn't "on the front", he was actually quite far from it. He barely got his hands dirty throughout most of the skirmishing, his main force doing the easy jobs, while those he had no confidence in to undertake the insurmountable ones. Prime example of being an inept general.
The way Garithos does his commanding, reminds me much of Yuan Shao. If you know your history, you'd know what I'm talking about.
And as far as his questioning, he was just looking for any excuse to persecute the elves. "Traitorous" was rather objective.

??? Wait wtf Kael had his green orby thingies in the introduction to Furion cutscene. Why not have them in every cutscene? Plus Illidan actually has a kneel animation in the Sargarus eye explosion scene also. Why did they not make him kneel to Kil'jaeden??? It's not like they needed to make two different kneel animations.
It's so sad to see all of the little details that make the scenes special are just gone now. Everything feels so lifeless. The characters themselves just walk around and their icons have no emotion either. They just stand there and talk. No more idle animations. It's boring to watch both the actual scene and the icons. Everything is so stiff. Maybe they were trying to make it more serious or make more sense in the context of the story (like Illidan randomly doing yoga while arguing with his brother is kind of silly) but it just comes off as uninteresting to watch compared to the original.

Yeah, and that is the guy I hate the most!!! I still can't avoid thinking that he really intends to have the Blood Elves get killed by the undead. Pulling the foot and support soldiers are the proof of that, instead of giving Kael additional forces. And I love the scene when Varimathrias killed that knight dog!!!
Or should I say, Garithos is really doing what he can to find fault in Blood Elves so that he could what he had been desiring: To kill the Elven Forces. I think from the start long before the Scourge plagued and the Burning Legion destroyed Lordaeron, Garithos really hated the Elves. And he hated it when the High Elves were part of the Alliance. Now that he was the only leader left among the forces of Alliance, he grabbed that opportunity to do what he can to get rid of the night elves.

It's a 2-front war, you need to protect flanks. Kael's defending Dalaran from west while Garithos is in the south.
If you were Kael, best thing to do is not to be a traitor (consort with the Naga) and hold out the undead as best as you can until Garithos' reinforcements arrived (which will arrive since Garithos actually won the battle in the south but in the real timeline, he returned not to aid Kael but to arrest him for treason). And Kael can do it since it was a river to begin with.
If Garithos wanted Kael to be dead to begin with then why Garithos gave 2 easy tasks to Kael to begin with? Assisting the supply convoy and repairing the observatories.
Kael is basically Grom Hellscream by that time, complaining to Thrall why his "best warriors were put in manual labor?"
Garithos always tracks Kael's progress and always go back and forth from Dalaran up to the southern frontlines.
And all of the sudden, "we are warriors" Kael got shouting harsh languages to the Grand Marshal after he was given hard task and with human troops withdrawn to support the other fronts.
It's Kael who is the problem to begin with. He joined the Alliance yet he had no trust in the plans of the high command and continuously disobeying their orders (just like elves during the Second War)
Did you know that after the elves escaped through the portal, Garithos managed to push back the undead all the way to the Plaguelands, on his way to siege the Capital City, Detheroc mind-controlled him and yes, he did that without the elves by that time, read the lore you dumb dumb.
Kael wasn't even a soldier, he's just a parasite in the Alliance thinking that Garithos had a cure for his magical addiction. It's all magic for him not loyalty.

*Very stilted.* I feel like there was more emotion in the faces of the WoW trailer version of 20:14 back in Burning Crusade. Lip sync doesn't do much when the faces don't express anything.
I know blizzard is getting a lot of flack over this. Stuff is way different, seems like they cheaped out on a lot of stuff, but...im catching up fast on lore with this release. Somehow, i didnt know that Kil'Jaden created the lich king. Maybe i didnt pay attention back then, it was "just a game" before WoW released.
Rather have Akama as creepy old shaman-rogue hybrid than the priest he was.

But I guess, it is destined for humans to not be allied with these "demonic elves." If you're gonna say that the nearest relative of the Highborne (Azshara elves who served the demons) are the night elves then you're wrong, it's actually the high elves, they were once the subgroup of Highborne in Zin Azshari led by Dathremar Sunstrider and these elves are responsible for bringing in the demons in Azeroth.
No wonder today's Horde composition are mostly former Legion servants LOL: orcs, forsaken (via Scourge), and blood elves
And the good elves, the night elves, joined the Alliance.
If you're seeing human racism as disgusting then the blood elves are more horrible, from their ancient history up to the Second and Third Wars.

Elves don't care about the Alliance to begin with, ever since the Second War. They only care if it will benefit their race or if their kingdom got attacked by orcs and trolls. For them, magic is only importan not loyalty.

Because the WOW/Stormwind Alliance didn't exist back then.
But the New Alliance do, Garithos, as the highest-ranking survivor and warlord, was the de facto leader of the human resistance in Lordaeron.
Technically, Garithos' Alliance is the only successor to the Terenas' Alliance (from Lordaeron to Lordaeron), when Garithos died, the Alliance went into an interregnum until a newly-rebuilt Stormwind emerged and took over Lordaeron's leadership as the heart/bastion of the (new) Grand Alliance.

Calling this an alliance campaign is lying a bit more then usual.
I dont get all the rage/hate. Game-wise, from all the footage that ive seen, this seems exactly like what I would expect, the same game with revamped graphics/models.
Now the parts that do suck is the "forced" new client and all the bugs related to it like connection issues/game modes taken out/missing along with the new consumer laws/rules about custom games and whatnot. Those along with quite a few people experiencing FPS drops are serious issues for sure, but they are fixable (soon, hehe). Im still not sure it warrants the complete onslaught of bad reviews that this game seems to be receiving right now...
The only real question is when they are going to fix it. Because it isn't done now. And another thing is that the way they had marketed had butchered the game's image.
