Love watching what you do, especially along the roadside. You think things out and pay attention to your safety. I am impressed because many don’t. Thanks for sharing.😅😊😊
Heck yeah another beauty roadside red oak! Gotta love when they’re up off the ground like that too. No worrying about rocking your chain or hitting dirt. I’ve been there myself rolling rounds down to the truck too, and sometimes even pushing them uphill out of the ditch 😂 There’s no stopping a determined firewood hoarder.
You got to be in good shape, as you are. Little scraynny guys could not lift those. People have no clue what so ever how heavy those really are. I did the same for years. Myself being 6'6 270 helped. But now at 68 paying the price dearly. Was it worth it? He'll yeah I loved it and still and always will. God bless you , you hard working brother I wished I had.
Take care of that back young man. You're young and strong now, but if you hurt your back, you'll be old and broke down like me. LOL..... Love your channel, keep putting out the great content...
Was driving through town when I ran across a pecan tree lying in a residential yard. I stopped and inquired about the wood. Was told I could have all I wanted. I didn’t have my trailer, so we loaded into the back of my 2010 Toyota Tacoma. A log roll took a bad bounce and went through the back window. I could have bought many a cord of wood for what that truck window is gonna cost me.
I would suggest using an ATV ramp. I have for years and really saves your back. I have a grandson that loads for me sometimes and he uses it also and he is 8.
I was thinking the same. Any type of ramp and using a peavy would be way easier on your back. Why lift when you can roll. Next Schieb will have to get a powered lift gate for his truck.
I know, arm chair and all... If it was me, I would have cut lower taking the chance on the popup vs puckering all the way overhead and dodging dropping logs. But it worked out, so can't fault you for going the other route.
Great looking Firewood Don. I bet that would have been great on a saw mill making alot of nice boards. Hard to get out of the woods to move it in one pc. Just be safe when you are out there by yourself. Hey Don , # weigh one of the Big rounds just to see what it does #.
Nice Oak score, man. As others stated, nice to recover those instead of it going to waste. I haven't processed much Oak lately, simply because EAB is rampant and there's a lot of Ash.
Damn man, firewood is already hard, backbreaking work, but if the world have 1/10th of your work ethic we would have colonized mars already. I’m sore just watching you muscle those things around 😂
Great video. That Stihl is a beast. I have the 461, love it. I also had a Ruggedmade 737 and now have an Eastonmade 12-22. We are brothers from another mother. 🫡
Nice score on some oak. Wish we had oak here. When the get big rounds I use my trailer with drop down gate and roll the up. Your back definitely stronger then mine. I have used a atv ramp to roll them into the truck as well. Great video keep up the good work.
When I was a younger man like you, I thought like you... "I can lift these -NO PROBLEM!! Now that I'm into my 50's, let me tell you, I'm paying daily for that nonsense. Break those big rounds down a bit, and save your back.
Nice Roadside Red Oak score Scheib!! Good lookin stuff. I’m with you, once you get going up with the round, go all the way. Great video! The 500i rips 🤘🏻
I would assume the roads to right to take the dump trailer with you aye could do it in one trip with truck and trailer. We used to load the trailer and truck to save a trip if we could sometimes we still had to go back
I watch all your videos because they are awesome, BUT I hope at some point you'll consider getting a tractor for at least half of the heavy lifting. Hydraulics are an amazingly strong invention.
@@OutsidewithScheib I took your advice and bought a 500i. My 661 just sits now 😝. Thanks buddy have a good one. Stay hydrated Vitamin M never hurt anyone.
I wish in ohio you could do that roadside logging, there was i spot where they clear cut a area ,well over 100 trees 10-15 inches they ground it up and just blew the grindings into the woods next door what a waste
I use a car ramp and roll them up. It only takes one time to pull your back and it’s never the same trust me I know. I was an animal like you and thought it would never happen to me ! Regards
Hi Scheib, looks like another successful oak run. Your pickup you mentioned on Brads channel on Thursday that the tranny is out. I am looking at buying a truck that why I am asking. Is your truck a 3/4 ton ? Does it have the Allison transmission?
It is a 2500 not a diesel so no Allison it has the 6L90E they are known for torque converter failure the Allison’s are almost bulletproof I don’t tow much couldn’t justify a diesel. I’ll be getting a new transmission that has a 7 year 1 million mile warranty.
Does your truck bed have a spray in liner or is it a hard plastic liner? Which do you think is best for what you do? I dented my bed hauling some logs this weekend and want to get something to protect it better. Thanks
Why not unload them from the pickup directly onto the splitter? Why put them on the ground and the handle them two more times before they reach the splitter?
Question are your safety glasses like the bugs in Florida noseeums? Not bitching just know for a fact that I've had a lot of screwed-up eye injuries over the years.
Funny you ask I use to do a lot of 4 wheeling with out goggles it seems like my eye lashes have gotten longer all I have to do is squint a little and it keeps the dust out. But I should be wearing them I know.
I love watching your videos man but I think you're mistaken about your lifting techniques. You are young and strong now, but when you get in your mid 50's your back is going to kill you. Have you tried any of those ice tong looking things to lift with?
You make it look easy. That oak is no joke!
Love watching what you do, especially along the roadside. You think things out and pay attention to your safety. I am impressed because many don’t. Thanks for sharing.😅😊😊
Always do a risk assessment before taking on any project.
Your comment of "area to escape" is of the most important things of cutting firewood! Keeping it clear around your feet!
Absolutely!
You definitely have a good thing going with the water company. Good work.
Thanks 👍
👍🏻👍🏻Always a good thing when the log stays suspended. Another good load of Oak Don👊🏻🇺🇸
Those rounds will be awesome on the box wedge.
The way your going your going to be the Jeff Bezos of firewood in pennsylvania 😂Keep up the good work! I hope it pays off emisly for you.
Hi Scheib. That’s some nice looking oak you scored. You gave the 500i a nice little workout.
Lots of firewood again
Putting good use to something that would otherwise rot! Nice Work!

i love hoardin wood
A portable capstan winch would be a good fit for you if you keep up this way of getting firewood. Skid the logs to the truck.
Utilizing renewable resources! Great video.
That's one hell of a nice score of oak and great video Scheib.
Thanks 👍
Whewwwww 38 rounds× 10 pieces a round..... Great score Sheib!! Red oak is ball bustin stuff! Well Done!

Great roadside logging!! Like the orange/blue gloves!! Nice oak!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day

I appreciate that
After watching you load those rounds I for one would never want to wrestle you! Many don’t appreciate how heavy those rounds really are.
You got that right!
Put some bowling pins at the bottom of that hill and see if you can score a 300 LOL.
Be safe your good person

I'm glad to see your channel gaining followers, you put out some of the best, no-BS content on YT. That 500i ain't no wall queen either.
Scheib, what a great roadside score right there. Always a smidge jealous of the 500i, one day I'll have one till then 261 is my workhorse.
Beauty pile of quality firewood

I am sure it would have but it’s going to make some beautiful firewood
Nice oak score!
I made a ramp from a set of running boards bolted together to roll the rounds up to the tailgate.saves my back.
Nothing beats free firewood gray video
Great job brother 💪🪵
i got a new chainsaw today and scheib uploaded a new video. today was a good day
U could use atv ramps side by side and roll the biggest rounds up into the truck

Hello Scheib, Good Choices in bucking it up💪🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Do you think rolling the logs up an ATV ramp would be easier?
Türkiye'den selam dostum 💪🇹🇷🙋

You need to hire a couple of those Olympian curling people to get those rounds much closer to the truck!!😅 Be safe my friend.

Great video buddy love watching you cut up with that 500I and this is coming from a husky guy
U need to use a ramp to push them up into the trk... A ramp attached to the tailgate!!😢😢
hi there sure finding a lot if nice wood , john
Been looking forward to more of these where ya been? Hope all is well.
I like this kinda stuff .., Nice Work 💪💪🍺. Later Scheib
Thank you! Cheers!
Where is that tractor? Back hurts just watching you!
I would assume the roads to right to take the dump trailer with you aye could do it in one trip with truck and trailer. We used to load the trailer and truck to save a trip if we could sometimes we still had to go back
It’s only 15 min from the house so an extra trip or 2 is fine gives a little bit of rest time in between loads
No tractor yet? Wait a few more years, you'll feel it. Half ton or 3/4 truck? Can see suspension move w every piece, dam heavy if it's a 3/4
I watch all your videos because they are awesome, BUT I hope at some point you'll consider getting a tractor for at least half of the heavy lifting. Hydraulics are an amazingly strong invention.
Trees like that make me very nervous. Good job with it. A lot of premium oak there Scheib!
You take the limb wood too or just the bigger stuff.
I may go down for the limb wood in due time
👍👍
Hey buddy, off topic but how many bags of wood are you getting in a face cord.
I’m running 24x24 mesh and was curious.
roughly 34

Rock on!!
Never cut above yer head put a half a cut at root ball to take pressure off.
Winch would make that a little easier.
I saw that saw kick back at the 7:15 mark. That was close! Made me cringe. bad stuff can happen real fast with that saw a full RPM. Y'all be careful.
Yep it happens just have to be ready for it
I would be tempted to fell a couple of trees, just in case the wind would knock them down latter (wink, wink)
I hear you brother lol
how long after splitting does it take for the red oak to dry down to 20% moisture content in your climate ?
Dead standing off the ground like this roughly 8-10 months
I use a car ramp and roll them up. It only takes one time to pull your back and it’s never the same trust me I know. I was an animal like you and thought it would never happen to me ! Regards
Is there a reason you don't use a trailer? Your truck is kinda tall, seems like it would be easier loading on to something lower to the ground.
Easier in and out with just the truck sometimes there is a lot traffic no need to cause and accident.

It’s a factory spray liner not as good as rhino lining but it protects the paint I guess. If it ever needs redone I’ll go with a rhino lining.
@@OutsidewithScheib thanks, Scheib.
Why not unload them from the pickup directly onto the splitter? Why put them on the ground and the handle them two more times before they reach the splitter?
Well if it was me, I would use a maul and split them in half before lifting into truck.
A ramp, inclined plane. Save your body.

How long do you let it set before selling it? 3 months, 6 months, or a full year of seasoning?
Full year or when it reaches 25%
Beast mode should be renamed and called Shieb mode
I love watching your videos man but I think you're mistaken about your lifting techniques. You are young and strong now, but when you get in your mid 50's your back is going to kill you.
Have you tried any of those ice tong looking things to lift with?
Is it not possible to get your trailer in there? You wouldn't have to lift the rounds as high and it would only be 1 trip. That truck is a workhorse.
It is possible but with the traffic on this road it would be more of a danger than a benefit people just don’t slow down.
I like to roll them down hill
Dude, are you 6ft1 for 220 pounds ?
Pretty much
Finger wood. Lol.
1/4 to them with a wood maul then load them. If it splits easy.
Get a old pc of aluminum ladder 8 ft. Or so & roll them into the truck. U will kill your back doin that shit.
LOL
You are thinking as a 40ish year old man! Now!
Let’s see what 50ish you says!
Hello Scheib
Use your feet to lift, your hurting back
I sure hope you don't say anything important when you are away . sure can't hear you
Not sure what to tell you bud no one else has commented with this problem.
Get a job logging n that tree on the deck is just part of a normal day.
be safe how long in the year do u cut n split the wood
Whenever I get a chance and it’s not brutally hot.
That 500 will get down through there wont it
