I love the big wood. Everyone I talk to says, "Everyone who has said they would take it, comes and sees it and they flake out. I never hear from them again."
They don't have a plan or understand logs are round and they roll. They get scared by 24" and bigger logs/rounds. Just more for me!

South Mississippi here. Found free oak wood on social media. A lady had a tree company to drop the oak tree in her yard but they left it. I spent three weeks in her yard just getting those huge limbs. The main trunk was like four foot across so there wasn’t much that I could do with it. She was happy and I was thrilled. Hate to see good wood wasted.

Another nice score, and more available as well! Can you get your dump trailer up in there so you can grab a bunch of it before it is gone? Possibly bring the dump trailer and the winch so you can drag some logs cut into 4 foot sections or so right into the trailer and the buck them down at home. It may be faster than bucking them there so you can get as much as you can before it's all gone.

I gave up on a magnetic measuring stick after the same idiot broke 3 of them on me. That ain’t the worst of it he also keeps his wallet in my back pocket and sleeps with my wife. Now I just use an 16” pvc pipe and chalk. Not nearly as sexy as the magnetic stick. You run a great operation. Believe it or not I use a Fiskar x27 on red oak rounds as big as 20” and usually half them in 3 strikes, then quarters in one. A bit more work but pays off when loading a truck, then staging near a splitter. I’m an old man so I’d imagine you’d half then quarter those rounds in short work.
