Hi there, just tested v1.2 on a fresh Blender install and it appears to be working- can you reach out via email or perhaps discord- canopy.games/p/discord so you can share more details / screenshots
If you have a full scene then yes it will still come out. However if you are wanting to create a bloomed image with transparency there are a few more steps. I’m just editing a video about this thanks to this question!
@@MichaelBridges3D great, look forward to that video ! I saw a very involved thread about this over at Blender Artists Community forum, so it'll be good to see your take.
That’s fine- if that is too much as I have said for others please reach out and ask and I’ll sort you out. Many have seen the value of having the add-on and it is OK if you don’t. 👍
@@MichaelBridges3D i know, its work to do a addon, programming... stick with you, BUT it was free before you do that, after that too and why should i pay for a free setting? my english is not the best, but i hope you get the point?
Ambient oculsion now works with the AO nose in the shading tab. It might be possible to write a similar script to add it to a material... however it would be difficult to automatically add it to an existing setup.
@@MichaelBridges3D hey thanks for the response, I’m very new to blender and most tutorials use the old ambient occlusion. Could you do a tutorial of how to use it with the current layout
@@jackinthebox3635 Add a new material in the Shading tab, add an Ambient Occlusion node, and then plug the Color from Ambient Occlusion up to the Principled BSDF. That's it. Afterwards, you can start using other nodes to get different effects that aren't possible with the AO in the Eevee Render Properties.
This video might help you: How to Export Bloom in Blender 4.2 ruclips.net/video/99uQ8m2B3_M/видео.html It’s not as simple as exporting A straight PNG sadly but preserves the intended output 😁
@@MichaelBridges3D This is the same way I am using. But I still wonder why is it taking so long to implement something that C4D and 3DMax had for a long time.
I wish it were possible! It would be fine as free addon, but... To be somewhat succesiful paid addon it need literally work just the same way it did in previous versions, without any extra steps. And i'm not sure if it's even possible. But what do i know
That’s an option, although Blender 4.1 has the old render engine as well. I know many people who still use blender 2.79. It’s an incredibly capable package even back then.
i dont think id ever buy this or recommend it either. you want us to pay for something you can already do in the newer version of blender slightly differently and in a way still very different from the original anyways. to the point this just feels sad
Cycles users: You Eevee users complaining about the new Bloom change are pathetic. We've used the compositor since the beginning, and had to do extra steps.
@@MichaelBridges3D They shouldn't have to. It was a free & easy to use feature that got removed for many without their knowledge. Having to go through the trouble to DM you for a handout and wait for a reply is honestly even more costly than just 2 dollars. Besides, someone else made the exact same addon while also including the old fog glow and published it for free just 2 days after your video. Now if only people would just google it...
Updated to 1.2- Now featues a one click turn on rendered view with compositor button, even easier to use.🎉
I'm so lazy and struggle with changing my workflow, so thankyou so much for this, great work :)
Well 5 seconds googling would've saved you 2 dollars while also offering the old functionality ;)
You're a demigod. Thank you!!
You're welcome
I had a question, does it work with version 4.2.1? or only for 4.2.0
Yes it works with those and even works with 4.2.2.
Hi! Add-on doesnt work! I click on glare node and nothing changes I turned on "compositor" - always

Great. But what about rendering from Cycles when the background is transparent, does that bloom come out in the final render?

How to Export Bloom in Blender 4.2
ruclips.net/video/99uQ8m2B3_M/видео.html
I hope that helps.
Why did they do it? Bloom was my blood in veins!
I think they'd been better not keep the Eevee name- basically it is a new rendering system, so things change :(
Google free blender bloom addon. That guy's version also offers the old functionality.
is this the same bloom with the compositor one? compositor make the render longer. is this the old bloom?
Yes this is a one click setup for the compositor bloom.
The render engine has changed the old bloom is gone.
@@MichaelBridges3D so basically the bloom is still using the compositting while rendering? sir can I get it for free? I'm just curious

hey what about ambient occlusion
Thats a great question, I shall play around over the weekend and see if there is a solution to this

Just add it in the Shading tab. That's what I do even in 4.1, and it has way more options there.
