Excellent video. Straight to the point without blaring music over the narration or massive sound level changes. POV camera angle with text labels on tools is very helpful and well done. Details from the manual and torque specs are excellent additions. This is one of the best planning, editing and formatting jobs on a video I've seen in quite some time. Subscribed.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate that. I try to make the kind of how-to videos I want to watch when I'm looking to learn something new myself. Thanks again and ride safe!
Here’s what you need to change your Honda Fury shaft drive oil: 6 mm hex socket bit - amzn.to/3okGUVd 17 mm socket bit + socket wrench - amzn.to/38k3ZSC Torque wrench capable of 17 Nm - amzn.to/3TM4Pxr Hypoid Gear Oil 80w90 - amzn.to/3nmaOHk Motorcycle lift (optional) - discount-ramps.sjv.io/motorcyclelift Drain pan
The service manual actually says to rotate the rear tire while draining the final drive oil. Not sure why but maybe there is some captured in the gears? Also, it says to fill the oil, while being supported with the side stand, which is maybe why the oil level seemed low when you drained it while level on the lift?
man thanks a lot!! it is great to have this info. also can you made one for a liquid cooler change the only one I've found is in Russian can't understand nothing..... lol
"Most motorcycle mechanics agree that your shaft drive fluid should be flushed every two years or every 8,000 miles (about 12,900 km), whichever comes first. If it’s been more than two years since your Honda Fury’s last shaft drive oil change you should watch this video or read along and we’ll go over it step by step so you can save your money by doing it yourself." youmotorcycle.com/how-to-honda-fury-shaft-drive-oil-change-final-gear-oil-change.html
Hi Adrian I also have a 2016 fury. I need some help. My neutral gear is very difficult to land on. It keeps sticking. Then when I use more force it jumps to 2nd or first gear. What can I do? Can you please make a video to show me, thank you.
@@YouMotorcycle Hey. Hi I just changed it two days ago. I used valvoline full synthetic 10w-40. I'm still experiencing it, not at first but after riding for abit it happens again. Any advice would greatly appreciated.

Check again carefully. The top of the page (4-19) of the service manual says "Support the motorcycle on it's sidestand on a level surface" - but that's under the *OIL LEVEL INSPECTION* If you keep looking further down the page (4-19 of my service manual) you'll see it says "Support the motorcycle using a hoist or equivalent..." meaning the motorcycle should be upright, *not* on the sidestand. Hope this clarifies!
@@YouMotorcycle oh thank you, I'm addicted. Hey so what's the best way to put the bike vertical? I bought a rear flip up stand, but it looks like it won't work because the cobra exhaust. Should I just buy a full size motorcycle jack and be done? Would prefer not to add it to the four other jacks I have :D
Look at page 4-19 of the Honda Fury Factory Service Manual. 12 Nm is not the wrong spec, it's 100% correct. When is the last time you've had your torque wrench calibrated? It sounds like either you're using it wrong, or it is terribly miscalibrated, but if you check the service manual (just google honda fury service manual, and then go to page 19 of section 4) you'll see the torque spec is fine. Sorry for your troubles, but the problem is on your end. The instructions are accurate and the manual is correct.

Have you checked the fluid level and when's the last time you changed it?
I can't believe people actually take their bike to a dealer to have this done? You can practically do it with your eyes closed.
You absolutely could!

It is 12Nm your just reading the wrench wrong. It's only 8.85 ft pounds
Hello the honda fury and interstate have 2 bults to drain the old oil, it is necessary to remove the 2 or just one
I have a feeling Honda put two bolts for a reason. Why not use them?
what year is your bike??? my 2016 Fury has a total different looking shaft drive.
It's my customer's bike. I'll ask him when I see him in a few weeks. AFAIK they never changed anything but I could be wrong.
