This amp is all around great. Gets fender marshall and Marshall plexi tones. The clean channel offers a overdrive. Kinda like a built in pedal. Channel two offers marshall ac dc tones. Then if you add the overdrive you get a marshall plexi tone. For evh stuff or cranked higher metal sounds with alot of gain. Having a built in switch to kick the amp into 15w setting or full for full 40w. I have compared this amp against a Marshall 40w. Fender bassbreaker. And this amp just beats them in tone. Best all around small room or gigging amp. Covers all genres of music!!
Sounds like the direct line out removes the "muddiness". I like it. It would probably work great in a live performance going direct to the board and just using the amp's speaker as a personal guitar monitor.
thinking having the SM57 1-2 inches form the cone is losing the high bite.. shoud be on edge of dust cap and right against grill cloth.. IMHO.. they should have sounded similar..
I have the 5150 el34 in the clean channel on that is amazing I don't think people realize how clean these amps are can I think it has a lot to do with fender is making them fender inserted their clean sound to these apps cuz I know mine has a great clean channel and I've heard other people say the same thing about theirs
Sounds kind of scratchy and thin i want some thump. Not sure if this amp will do it or not. I used to own the original Peavey 5150 combo and that amp had lots of thump and chug. Maybe the Iconic 2x12 60w sounds fuller, not sure
@@Grandpalovesmetal I bought one had it for a couple weeks now. I'm happy with it. Definitely not as chuggy as the original 5150 but it's a little smaller and about 20 lbs lighter. The original 5150 combo was so beefy you could feel it in your chest like a subwoofer. I haven't even played it at full power yet. Mline has a switch on the back for 1/4 or full power. 1/4 power is plenty loud for playing at home. Just like the original though i like the green or channel 1 better. It's just got a much better tone. Do you have one? I know most people own the 40w i wanted the 2x12
I bought the 5150 3 the fender one that came out about 15 years ago in a half stack and hated it. I know a lot of people liked it but it wasn't for me. Guess everyone has diff tastes
don't worry,almost everybody doing reviews, especially multiple amp, pedal etc comparisons, make the huge mistake of over processing everything trying to get perfect audio in their youtube videos. The result is every friggin thing sounds almost identical. So many videos would be drastically improved if they just used a mic to capture the entire room and let us hear what it really sounds like instead of trying to make another cookie cutter over processed over edited b.s video. Some really amazing guitar players with loads of viewers make this mistake so everybody copies them but thats the way of the shitty world these days.
At this price point it’s a great choice, unless you want an amp that does quiet too. If you want it to go quiet for home play as well then I’d take a look at some modelling options like the Boss Katana or the Line 6 Catalyst. Another option would be a good clean amp and then a pedal like the Blackstar distortion pedals to get some big drive tones out of it
Did it get the 5150iconuc ? If not these or the Marshall DSL40 combo is pretty awesome. You can get a DSL40 combo for $400 and then get a cheaper Marshall 212 cabinet and be able to play at home and at the bars and festivals. @@Thisismyusernamedealwithitok

You've miced it up wrong, you used the wrong mic, your eq is wrong. You recorded in the wrong humidity. The atmospheric preasure is off, and there is a lack of pie in the video.
Don’t know what the hype is about those barenuckle pickups are ! They always sound scratchy and harsh ! I’ve tried out loads of them and they all Sound the bloody same
I bought a Charvel this winter off of CL here in NH. It came with a bareknuckle holy diver humbucker and two slowhand single coils. I love Charvels, very comfortable, awesome maple neck and fretboard. I HATED the sound of that guitar, very nasty. Ice pick sharp twang. I traded it last week for a POS Kramer nite V with a set of SD invaders in it for my 9 year old daughter. My little girl thinks floyd's are " rad" and she loves playin around with the trem. Fine trade by me! The guy who got the Charvel was confused, couldnt understand why I would get rid of a good guitar. Because pickup swaps are exhausting. I dont want to deal with em for a while and my kid wanted something else. Too funny that new" ish" players sometimes gravitate toward floating trems, I guess I'll have to figure out how to tune it proficiently...

I was lucky to find one of these for $700. I love it for the Bad Co, ZZ Top, Ac/Dc covers I love.
Thats why I want one. Ch 1 is pretty impressive

This Amp sounds sweet. I'm still struggling for mic as well. It fuzziness up the distortion too much. If anyone has any feedback

What amp would you recommwnd for metal\grunge ive got ab a £700 limit and im thinking od getting this
