  • Here's an addendum to my iOS Garageband video, shown here:
    • Garageband on iPad wit...
    In this video, I have described in detail the connection of iRig, the guitar interface, and adjusting chords and tweaking chords and articulation in string parts.
    Have fun - there are lots of things in Garageband that can really make your tunes individual sounding!

    Love how he gets quiet when he’s talking about the piano volume now “sounding more realistic.” Like he doesn’t want Apple developers to hear him lol

    I usually record from another iPad but thanx to ur other video, I can just drag and drop another guitar loop (or another guitar track I recorded and uploaded) into an amp track and guinea pig it just to see how it sounds

    You can change the chords into 7th chords using the wrench button at the top.

    Dan you are a natural teacher and a talented musician.thanks for these instructive video’s. You have inspired an ageing muso to try and share his (lack of) talent. May whoever needs to, forgive you.
    By the way what is the specific iRig you use and what is the name/detail of the 4 contact pin plug and what’s on the other end of it?

    • @DanBakerMusic
      @DanBakerMusic  4 года назад

      Hi Cheri! Thanks for watching and your warm comments... the irig I have is not made anymore but the other ones are similar in how they connect to the iPad. The lead you need would usually come with an irig (best to check), but the lead is technically a “TRRS 3.5mm to TRRS 3.5mm”. Thanks. Dan

    After watching your videos about Garage Band, I tried to get the software back into my Macs, since I got rid of them. Now I cannot find the version that you're using. Apparently, the latest version doesn't have what this version you're using does.

    Love your videos, Dan. It's too bad you can't change the chord specifics within the edit chords feature... Apple seems to have fixed those Auto Play ones.

    Can I set up the lightning jack straight into my laptop and record what’s on my phone into my DAW as a wave? Or do I need a interface?

  • @CRASS2047
    @CRASS2047 5 лет назад +2

    To be honest, after trying some other daws, I feel GarageBand is definitely the easiest to use. I can’t understand why so many people use FL Studio. And if Logic is GarageBand’s big brother, then that’s my only path if I decide to upgrade to a Mac

    hehe, "maybe not". Yeah, that semi-tone drop just doesn't seem to work at first.

    Which irig device are you using. There are many ranging in price from about $50 to mire than $200 and the names all begin with “irig”. It is the naming IK multimedia uses for their iOS interfaces.

    • @DanBakerMusic
      @DanBakerMusic  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Perry! The iRig model I have is the iRig "stomp". I think they've stopped making that one, but essentially they all do the same job: allowing a mono input to the iOS device as well as the standard output. The smallest (cheaper) ones work fine...

    • @DanBakerMusic
      @DanBakerMusic  6 лет назад +1

      Sorry-yes: it's IK multimedia...

    One thing i dont get about studios. They can record drums easy enough and have loops of real drum stuff..to use on anything they see fit..but instead they use cheap,crappy drum machine stuff even for folks like the millionaire pop stars ? . . . The hell is amatter with em ? Dan your drums sound great compared to most drum machine crap ive heard...a fella could play with your drum stuff .👍

    • @DanBakerMusic
      @DanBakerMusic  4 года назад

      Thank you, Lee! Yes: drums are often overlooked in a studio environment as a)they take up a lot of space and are relatively difficult to mic up, and b)although a drummer will play much more musically than a machine, the sounds on offer now are incredibly good...
