Thank you for reminding me how to edit I’ve graduated to engineering my music from scratch and for got how to use what I carry with me every night to work so I thank you🌹🌹🌹🌹
Purchased iPad Pro a few weeks ago... this video was SO helpful. Friend of mine making excersise videos for the disabled and I'm making beats for her videos!!
This video causes me to see another part of garage band, I never knew all this information was out there I was looking around to use other people’s music, but thanks a billion I can use this.
Watching this one again and it still really stands up. Wonderful production values. Great work Sanjay. This was a great gateway for me to your channels and videos.
Thank you soooo... much. I would have never figured out how to play, let alone record the sequence that I created. I have been using Daws since Cakewalk was on dos (ie.Command prompt). And none of them work like this. You usually add the loop in the position (time) in the song where you want it to play, rewind the song to the beginning and press play. The mind of the developer who created the GarageBand way is Special. Thanks for being the medicine for my headache.
Hi Sanjay, found your channel a couple of weeks ago and subscribed straight away :-) just found this one ,man you are SO creative it makes me feel like an “old stick in the mud” if you know what I mean :-) .wish you lots of luck in all you do ,bye and take care now
Great beginners guide! The only thing is your hands covered some of what you were doing so some of it I had to work out, but that in itself helped me to work out bits for myself and that helped me learn and experiment. Appreciated. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent tutorial - has helped my understanding of GB to be a lot better. I can approach my experiments with composing in a more organised way now. Many thanks!
Wow, very helpful video. I opened GarageBand expecting it to be like a typical daw with a linear timeline and i was like "nope, not today". This makes sense to me now.
been wanting to create my own music for my vlogs and saw garage band on my iPad. I've been looking for a tutorial and this, THIS, is what I need! thanks so much for sharing! now I don't need to use "no copyright" music by other peeps. I can just create one myself.
Hi Sanjay! I love your tutorial… its straight to the point! Great! Just one question: I've just clicked a small song together, but Garageband only plays the first column of the loops and doesn't automatically jump to columns 2 and 3 afterwards. How can I play the whole song in one piece?
You need to record it as a whole song. Its in the last few steps in my video. Its the record button up top. Hit that and then you'll need to trigger the clips or columns as it records and it'll record it as a full song. THen you can export it.
Hello there kind Sir. You have a tremendously informative channel and I'm a fan of your work. I just wanted to ask if the iPad Pro 2020 variant will be enough for music production as opposed to the 512GB variant? I mean, with the idea of transferring files to and from external drives won't have problems with both, do I really have to have the bigger GB variant or it will actually matter along the way?
@@SanjayC Thank you for the response. With regards to the music production alone in the iPad Pro 2020, do I have to get the 512GB or the 256GB instead or all storage concepts have been swept away by inserting USB C SSD nowadays?
Sanjay C been watching your videos on audio interfaces and would like your opinion. I ordered the focus right 2i2 and been looking at the DAW. Which you think Is easiest and best? I will be trying to record drums, bass and a guitar. Thanks for your videos and positive vibes.
Thank YOU!!! I followed along with my iPad Pro and now kicking myself in the butt for not realizing that what I’ve been paying for was in the power of my own hands the whole time! Time to edit all of my international travel vlogs now!
Brilliant introduction to Live Loops! I've been using GB for a few years but have struggled to put together music that sounds like real music. This looks promising! Am I right in thinking that “trial and error” is the way to find those specific loops, etc?
Cool video, thanks. Is it possible to record a bass line while playing along to an original song as the backing track from my iTunes library. If so, how is this done? Cheers. Niall
So I imported this mp3 track into my GB on iPad and I decided to create an additional percussions track along with it. While playing and recording It sounded great but when I playback what I recorded the rhythm was totally off. Why is this and how can I solve it .
All of these loops are free and I think you can download more. Also, according to the Apple website, the loops included with Garageband may be used royalty free in your own song and shared on RUclips.
I would challenge you to experiment with playing the instruments themselves on garage band and reduce reliance on the loops. I don’t play drums but I have done a lot of experimenting with garage band drums and now make my own beats etc. I think doing this will give your music a more human touch.
Thank you for the tutorial, i follow the step and then i make my own style. Btw i juz got my new Ipad Pro 11" 256GB 😁 and i love the app GarageBand❤️💯🎉
Hey dude. Just started thinking about making music with Garage Band to accompany my videography and this came in really handy! Thanks a lot and keep up the good work :)
Good intro for clicking and adding samples, but i think “making” music your own music from an artist stand point is creating every sequence by hand. Now days everything is done for you, but building a beat from scratch creating your own sounds, and playing instruments is so much more authentic .
Thank you for reminding me how to edit I’ve graduated to engineering my music from scratch and for got how to use what I carry with me every night to work so I thank you🌹🌹🌹🌹

Thanks, Pete! I just realized that I've watched your videos before a while back! Subbed! ;-)

3 years ago. But still helpful. Love from India 🌹🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
This is literally the only helpful video out there that doesn't involve the Mac. Of you have more tutorials, I wanna see them all
Thanks...this is the only one I have with the iPad :-(. I moved on to the Mac and Ableton Live.
Hi can we add two loops and create a new loop of our own and save , where we can use that newly created loop
Finally some instructions that make sense, you rock dude
😎
SAME!
No that's not Rock. Because rock is good music.
Couldn’t agree more.
Nice of you to say
For me, this was a perfect tutorial. I had to pause and rewind several times, but I had skills when I finished the tutorial. Thank you for doing this!
You’re welcome!
Can i use this music in my vlogs? On my another channel
Yes, you can.
Awesome tutorial ! Can’t wait to use my own samples!
Brilliant intro to using loops. Thank you. Subbed. 🙂

Hi man !! Good video !! Is it possible to use a Octapad SPD-30 (MIDI) as a controller with Garageband ? ...Thanks you.
Awesome. I have never don’t this before and you made it so easy. You are a Jedi Master on this. Thanks a bunch.
This was posted three years ago, but it helped me alot more than other videos!!
Wow thanks!
Thank you so much! And for responding to so many people!
You are so welcome!
Great tutorial, opened up a ton. It was very fast. I had to stop and replay to keep up.
Glad it helped!
Showing my support on this video. Great job Sanjay. Awesome to see your workflow on the iPad.
Awesome thank you, my friend!
Your daughter crawling up the stairs 😂

Do you register your music? I’m afraid someday can steal it

Thanks! Noted!
Hi what is the cords/notes for the shimmering bells
A very cool and simple tutorial. Great work my friend. More proof that GarageBand can be used for any music application you need. 👍
Thanks Pete!! 😃
Okay but I cannot seem to find riser under loops and bass, it just shows one option and that's not what you chose.
“How to have fun with looped sounds in Garageband for iPad”
Yes...FUN! Music is FUN!
That’s how I feel! I’m excited! Be on e look out! Loved the intro
Perfect Bro! Excellent begining to use

Thank you Steve! Nice compliment!

How can I download the app sir? I have tried the website link but got lost! Can u help please.....
Great intro for a complete beginner. Glossed over some major stuff (how did the melody get recorded and into the loop). Still very informative.

Awesome dude I have been searching for weeks trying to figure out how to move the beats to different cells, thanx u r da man !!!

I think the iPad Pro is a great choice. But you can still do a lot with a regular iPad too
@@SanjayC Thank you for the response. With regards to the music production alone in the iPad Pro 2020, do I have to get the 512GB or the 256GB instead or all storage concepts have been swept away by inserting USB C SSD nowadays?
Can you tell me the notes to the piano part of the tutorial
I think it’s D# F# A# C3 D# F
Super cool bro!!
Thanks 🔥

Wonderful !
Thank you!
Loved this vid. Do you have any more tips and videos about making garage band music
Unfortunately not. Only this one.
I subbed because of this!
Thank you!
Thank YOU!!! I followed along with my iPad Pro and now kicking myself in the butt for not realizing that what I’ve been paying for was in the power of my own hands the whole time! Time to edit all of my international travel vlogs now!
wonderfully clear.
Thank you!
Brilliant introduction to Live Loops! I've been using GB for a few years but have struggled to put together music that sounds like real music. This looks promising! Am I right in thinking that “trial and error” is the way to find those specific loops, etc?
Thanks so much! I made a song my friend loved! Thank *YOU*
Awesome! 😀
=D
I really like this beat, thank you
Thank you so much for this streamlined tutorial
You're very welcome!
I’m finally excited about the music classes in school when we need to use iPads and GarageBand
Thank you
You're welcome. You can do so much with an iPad and Garageband these days.
Thank you so much ❤️
You're welcome!
Cool video, thanks. Is it possible to record a bass line while playing along to an original song as the backing track from my iTunes library. If so, how is this done? Cheers. Niall
Not easy to do. You’ll have to first record that song and then import it manually through iTunes (on desktop). But it is possible.
Thanks for posting! Subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
Good crash course!
Thank you Alan Sommerville!
Bro can u tell me what ipad needs to download this app or its available for all ipads?
I suggest getting an iPad which has force touch. That will give you more features with GarageBand.
Thanks! I've just started learning GarageBand and found your video. Nice one, very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Fantastic tutorial
Thank you!
Great work!
Thanks!
So I imported this mp3 track into my GB on iPad and I decided to create an additional percussions track along with it. While playing and recording It sounded great but when I playback what I recorded the rhythm was totally off. Why is this and how can I solve it .
That's sounds unusual. I'm not sure what's causing that. I'll let you know if I can figure it out.
@@SanjayC someone helped me figure it out . Actually it was quantizing my recording and they showed me how to turn it off
Great job Tks for doing this
You're welcome!
omg. you just gave me a tool to keep going. thank you!!!
Awesome! We can’t stop!
You are amazing!
That loops are free or not? Can I use those loops for creating my own song and then share it on youtube?
All of these loops are free and I think you can download more. Also, according to the Apple website, the loops included with Garageband may be used royalty free in your own song and shared on RUclips.
What makes few people to dislike such valuable videos.... Damn! Great stuff bro.... Learnt a lot.... Thanks a tonne...
I appreciate that man!
Great video. Thank you for the clear instruction. Nice track too.
Am I the only one who saw the Teddy at 6:15
This is awesome thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Do you know how to change it so the loops for your song are more on a timeline going sideways than a circle?
First you need to record (hit the record button and trigger the loops) and then switch the view - there's a button at the top to switch it.
I would challenge you to experiment with playing the instruments themselves on garage band and reduce reliance on the loops. I don’t play drums but I have done a lot of experimenting with garage band drums and now make my own beats etc. I think doing this will give your music a more human touch.
Thank you so much
You’re welcome! 👍🏼
Actually awesome, because the hardest part is not clear "how to start" something
Nice!
This video was awesome!!! Thank you!!
Thanks, Tanya! You're welcome!
i got new idea. thanks a lot
Thank you, this is exactly the kind of video I'm looking for.
You're welcome!
Great content, perfectly articulated! And a great personality! Thank you very much for the tips 🙏🏾
Thanks so much for the positive feedback!!
But what if I want to make everything myself? How do I make my own beat?
You can use the instruments included in Garageband to play any tunes or chords and just start from scratch.
Thank you for the tutorial, i follow the step and then i make my own style. Btw i juz got my new Ipad Pro 11" 256GB 😁 and i love the app GarageBand❤️💯🎉
You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
What name app is this
Garageband (iOS only)
@@SanjayC thx you I have ios
Thank you! That was great. I’m going to use this to kick start my musical attempt to finally fathom garage band!
Love to hear that!
Awesome 😀
Thank you David!

Thanks anyways
Very helpful, thank you.

I agree but he's just telling you how to make a background track.
This is a Quick beginner video on building in Garageband on iPad. We're learning to fold a paper airplane. Flying a space shuttle will come later.
Nice analogy!
sounds great !
Thank you!
This is one of my favorite tutorials out there thank you very much for taking the time to share the knowledge great work!
Aw thanks, Marissa! :-)

HAHA! My wife has a sense of humor!
@@SanjayC its funny. good tutorial btw!
THANK YOU!!!!
You're welcome!
We've been importing that project into Logix Pro X to really make it punch as well. Have you done that? Great video by the way!
I've actually imported my iOS projects into Garageband on Mac. And taken them to the "next level!"
