I used to have the same issue with twists. To circumvent the cons of twists I do the following -braid the root half an inch and twist the rest of the hair. Prevents webbing at the root -braid the twists (keeping roots a bit loose) before washing to prevent catastrophic tangles therefore decreasing trim frequency. Wash and condition twists in braids -microfiber towel for drying. LCO after (now you can undo braided twists to properly distribute product) -During wear I remoisturize every 2-3 days. I do not wait for my hair to get dry -Personally, I redo twists every 2 weeks. I cannot wear the style longer than that. Also use hair products to redo any twists that seem matted. -satin scarves and bonnets for sleep. Headscarves/wraps when going out. I wear satin lined under scarves to prevent getting oil stains on the wraps. As much as I like mini braids I don’t have the patience or time for takedown and rebraiding. If you are also like me in that regard, you can opt for medium instead of mini. I keep around 30-39 twists instead of 60-100. Major game changer right there. Could even opt for that amount with braids
Thank you so much for explaining something I've been trying to figure out and make sense of. I have also been favouring braids over twist, even with extensions. I noticed that my hair is more tangled with twists than with braids, especially if it's my own hair and even worse when I wash it in hair twists.
First one here🎉🎉. I just saw this and poped in... Oh yes, we are doing mini braids... Though i have one problem.. My hair is too scanty that my box at the root is big but the braid itself is too tiny... I wish i could send pictures... But i know you get what im saying... Im here wondering how i will take them down😂😂😂 Plus, i cannot even do twist on my hair right now... Immediately i put in water, the whole twist is out...
@@gabriellajuma7719 hey love ❤️❤️Lool do you know your hair density?? If no just find out aside that you will know your true hair volume when your hair is growing out properly.Just give it time
I had you mention about hair density. How do I know mine? And the other last question I wanted to ask. I have really dry hair that even when I moisturize with water and oil and butter, the next day I touch it it's so dry still... How do I deal with that? Been asking myself... When you moisturize, do you still have dump hair the next day or will the water have evaporated like mine?
@@gabriellajuma7719 So does your hair feel dry or is that just how your hair feels? I would recommend seeing how your hair feels before wash day (which depending on when you wash your hair, it's usually the driest point) then compare it to how it feels the day after you moisturise it. We have to understand that our hair when moisturized won't be silky soft and it will still be coarse but it shouldn't feel really dry. If it feels really dry then maybe add in a leave in conditioner or cream and make sure you're completely cleaning your scalp and hair and removing the previous product buildup before moisturising again. Also make sure you're squeezing the products in and raking your fingers through your hair so you don't miss any part of your hair. It's okay if you have to remoisturise before wash day as well! I wash my hair every week but I moisturise it twice a week so that it's never very dry before I wash it. There are tons of RUclips videos you can watch to help as well. Hope this helps!
