Aaah, one of my favourite things about a new Welonz playthrough is not knowing who she's going to choose to romance, and everything slowly coming together as it becomes more and more apparent who she has her sights on hahah Also, this episode's thumbnail is really pretty; I love how painting-like Veilguard looks.
I bought this game after seeing it here. I personally think this was made with controller in mind(at-least the default keybinding has some weird keys). I got myself a controller and the game is much more fun now..
@@ellehcimbelle eeeeh, nope its not hard to believe that people who didn't like the game aren't gonna stick around for a full play through of course. I've been subscribed to chuggaconroy for years, but I never watch more then 20% of his mario stuff
14:10 Can confirm. This is my first Dragon Age and the number of times I've gone to that glossary to get understanding after a cutscene is ridiculous 😅. Oh you were so much nicer than me to the mayor lol. I had already grown attached to Bellara at this point so seeing her angry made me side with her on what to do to him.
One great improvement in this Dragon Age is the clothing. You can set the appearance of your armor to always look like a preferred outfit, even as you upgrade the actual armor. Also headwear can be set to always visible, invisible, or just invisible during cutscenes.
Welonz break every barrel you see. 😁 huge gold mine! if you roll through them you break them and pick up loot and gold automatically at the same time, so it's faster than hitting them. there is a lot of gold and also some good materials in all the barrels in the world.
I have spent HOURS in game rolling and jumping into every barrel to break them for loot. It’s been the most fun part of the game for me so far genuinely lol.
it's becoming an addiction. I can't sleep peacefully if I passed a barrel and didn't smash it lol!! There's already an ongoing joke in the fandom that Inquisitor was obsessed with picking elfroot, and Rook's version of that are barrels 🤣
About fast travel: There's a *lot* of party banter that mostly works like in DAI (i.e. time based). While it seems to trigger faster than in the previous game, it's worth noting that walking to places will be your best bet to get most of it - if that's your goal.
It's actually location-based just like Origins. Some maps are easier to trigger dialogue than others. Once you learn the spots, you can figure out where is "safe" to fast travel and where to walk to min-max all that party banter ha
I play a female dwarf crow Rook and I made her as short as possible in the creator, so she is even smaller than her gf Harding. So seeing how tall your Rook is makes me want to put them next to each other and see how the animations interact with the height differences. My girl is so small I often have trouble climbing and jumping far enough lol.
The Blight is done so well but so absolutely repulsive in this village it really gives me the creeps, I feel like I need a shower 😱🤢 Also how cool is to see Morrigaaaaaan!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Honestly playing a warden in this game kinda feels thematic, given the darkspawn and all. Plus there are some moments that being a warden has perks for, like with the mayor
4:55 For now it's fine selling these stuff but later when you meet other factions don't sell everything at once, as each item has different values per faction and they are sorted from highest to lowest. The +3 items are not worth selling (to upgrade their store) as they are probably higher valued by other factions. 22:15 Yes you do, mostly it's just little stuff but occasionally there are higher level materials, so don't ignore the crates, barrels and stuff. It might be because it's still the beginning of the game that's why you don't get much from destroying them.
14:15 there are more detailed lore stuff in the other part of library in the Codex section, under the World of Thedas. but honestly there is no good way to sum up all the detailed lore and knowledge and history of 3 previous games plus novels into codex entries. There was also a book Tevinter Nights, which was a precursor to this game, sort of like a bridge between DAI and DAV, which explained a lot of new events and factions...
46:18 I mean no disrespect to Merrill but given how her ark in DA2 ended with the Eluvian she'd be one of the last people I'd ask for an expert opinion😭
It would make sense to Merrill being involved with Veil Jumpers. She could have been a returning character... Possibly Fenris, too. (He would join the Shadow Dragons) Now, thinking about it, there are two characters I would like to see them again: - First, Anders. What the hell is he doing? - Second, the Architect and his partnership (or rivalry) with the Warden Commander.

Is it true or am I just misinterpreting things? I'm not really sure but it feels like vocabulary they use is so different than the previous games.
Rook has a northern English accent (which isn’t often portrayed in international media) and yes there is a bit of a similarity to American accent in that in southern English an r is added to an A word while northern it isn’t (for example class is spoken like clarss compared to claass) hopefully this makes sense and I don’t think you were being offensive at all

You just need a couple close-ups of her. Having just gone through a rather lengthy conversation with Morrigan in my own game a couple days ago I'm fine with saying this is the best she's looked in the whole series. It's not the best she's *dressed* in my opinion, but that's a whole other conversation.
At least she looks way better than she did in the Sacred Ashes cinematics. It’s been years and my brain still refuses to see that as her or Leliana lol.
Morrigan dosent have a son. it was not an imported choice so they cant address it. surely the existence of a child with the soul of an old god is not something of consequence to this narrative and the world of thedas. no need to worry about it right?
In my play through she never had a son. My warden killed the archdemon herself and died so there was no need for the dark ritual. I believe that is also the canon Bioware default world state choice that the player gets if they don’t import any choices or if Inquisition was their first game.
@@ellehcimbelle If they where not going to allow importing the dragon age keep I wish they at least gave us a canon version and told us to deal with it. it would be better then this vague nonsense and wouldent leave huge plot holes in the narrative
i mean, i don't like that decisions to not import that and many other choices either but i don't really see why she needs to give her whole backstory and show all her relatives to a stranger sometimes it does feel the game is avoiding decisions so i get it but i'm not mad about the kieran thing and now i'm not even mad about the well thing because there is a good reason why it doesn't matter if you collect all the wolf statues it will make a bit more sense why it's not a factor in this game

Hi Welonz! I have a question, if that's okay. It's a genuine serious question from someone who's very non-verbal: how do you keep yourself talking when playing? What do you do if you can't think of anything to comment on? Also, the thumbnail is giving off bisexual lighting vibes.
This is commentary-specific and won't really apply for other situations like meeting new people #1. Talk about factual stuff: what's immediately on the screen ("there's a darkspawn!!"), recap what we are/have been doing ("we are going to XXX place next to do YYY") #2. Synthesize information from #1 into an extended thought ("hey I remember darkspawn are not supposed to be above ground unless if it's a blight", "the darkspawn look cute/creepy/cool/gross") IMHO #2 is being in the "zone" but you can always fall back to #1
Facial animations and dialogue are really terrible. Characters don't help to bring about the Dragon Age atmosphere. Don't think it's the way blight spreads because it's not really DA. So we see a "dragon". Fresh heart, creature come to me ... what does the dragon do? Take flight, dramatically land on a tower, do some fire puffs and leave. Of course the mayor is evil. The devs have a simple tell for that one. Really weird how they just all stand around and parade. And the tentacles just, tentacle about. The game got a bad reception and I can see that being deserved.
