As a first time diesel owner thanks for showing the fuel filters are UNDER THE COVER. I was lookin at my engine bay for like 5 minutes like a tard🤣🤣 earned a sub.
Important!: There’s a bowl drain valve on passenger side rear bottom of bowl. Open that drain valve first, before even removing cap. Otherwise you risk leaving contaminated fuel/water/gunk in the bowl. Turn the lever clockwise to open. Then close drain valve, replace filter, and refill the bowl with fresh/clean diesel before putting on the cap.
That's what I came here to add. Can't believe someone is making a video about something without the proper knowledge that could lead others to serious problems. Perfect time to get any water out of the fuel bowl in addition to particles from the tank!
Should hit the drain valve and remove at least 1/4 of the fuel in the bowl to remove any contaminants and water every filter change. Periodically I'll drain at least half the fuel in the bowl and fill it back up with either Lucas Injector Cleaner or new clean tranny fluid to clean the injectors. Also remember to suck the old engine oil out of the HIPOP every oil change.
@@bluetwo7282, what seems unsafe about it? Transmission fluid works like a cleaner mixed with diesel. Look up using used engine oil and tyranny fluid to run in your diesel. You can also run used vegetable oil to run your in the older diesels. The first ever diesel was run on peanut oil.
@@RoadKen53 thanks 👍 for info Ken, I'm new to diesel engines so wondering about additives such as transmission fluid mixed with diesel ⛽ I'll have to try it and see if better than seafoam and other diesel additives. Continuous blessings 🙏✨🙏🏅👍
@@bluetwo7282, the one additive I really noticed a difference with was Lucas Injector Cleaner in a Mercedes 300sd I owned years ago. It idled rough and in 2 city blocks it smoothed out and I was impressed. I still use it every 500 miles or so in my F350 and my car. The 7.3 Powerstroke is a tough engine.
I change mine every other oil change, but some guys go every change. Depends on where you’re buying diesel and how clean it is. Some stations don’t cycle through diesel as fast and have some algae that plugs filters faster.
THANK YOU LORD JESUS 🙏 THANK YOU BROTHER FOR SHARING YOUR BLESSING'S THROUGH FAITH AND THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND OUR SAVIOR!! VERY HELPFUL VIDEO
Kinda helpful, but 1 my lid is different, so was my bowl gasket, no arrows on it, and both sides all but the same cause I needed up pissing fuel out the lid

Great information! Thanks!
Turning the key to ON should prime the bowl if everything’s working correctly.

Hi may I ask if you are putting Transmission fluid inside diesel ⛽ filter bowl to clean injectors ? That sounds unsafe. Thanks

Could be your ipr valve. Or possibly your high pressure oil pump getting weak.

Thanks! 👍🏼

Does the filter have to have a cap on it
Aren't you supposed to drain the bowl?

Tip. Do NOT use Amazon parts for these trucks. Use OEM as much as possible for filters and sensors.
You need to drain the bowl first

It’s a plastic cap with an oring. Decently tight is plenty good enough but not too tight or they can crack.
