BAKED CHOCOLATE DONUT RECIPE
(Makes 11 donuts)
Ingredients:
2 cups ground oats (200g)
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cocoa powder (50g)
2 eggs
1/4 cup coconut oil (50g)
1/2 cup honey, maple syrup or agave (170g)
2/3 cups yogurt (160g)
1 tsp vanilla extract
COCOA POWDER GLAZE:
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup coconut oil
2 tbsp honey (maple syrup or agave)
PEANUT BUTTER GLAZE:
1/4 cup peanut butter
2 tbsp coconut oil
NUTRITIONAL INFO (per donut):
187 calories, fat 7.7g, carb 27g, protein 5.4g
Preparation:
In a large bowl, add the ground oats, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder. Mix until it's well combined.
In another bowl, add the eggs, melted coconut oil, honey (maple syrup or agave), yogurt and vanilla extract. Whisk until completely combined.
Add the ground oats, cocoa powder and baking powder. Gently fold until you get a smooth and shiny batter.
Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined. Don't over-mix the batter, your donuts won't be as fluffy as they should be.
Transfer the batter into a piping bag or ziploc bag, cut off the corner, and pipe the batter into the previously greased donut pan. Don't overfill the molds, or you'll lose the classic donut shape.
Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350°F (180°C), or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Dip the donuts into the glaze and place them back on the wire rack to set.
Enjoy!
This whole concept of making unhealthy food healthy but tasty is literally my fav concept ever I think
Hi there! I totally agree with this, it's such a great concept, and so much fun to do. Thanks for stopping by!
As I'm counting calories to lose weight, I couldn't agree more.
Agreed!
then you are not really healthy :/
Your comment is literally my fav comment ever I think. I’m literally glad I read it.
My mom has cancer which limits what she can eat by extreme measures, but all of your recipes she can have, I just want to thank you for bringing some happiness back to both her and the rest of our family's lives.
prayers for your family
praying that your mom is doing better.
God bless your mother 🙏💙
hope your mom gets better man
125 calories per donut? You insane man! This will fit perfectly into my diet! You should make more videos like this!
Hi there! So glad this recipe will work for you. I'll try to come up with some more low calorie options.
It takes about 16 minutes for me to jog off 125 calories for me at the gym... If i had the means and the time to make these I would probably collapse from exhaustion for running off each donut!
can also save more calories, by opting for pb2 powder instead of the peanut butter, and sugar free honey.
No it won't because they are very small, anyone can easily eat 8-10 of these and so you end up with ~1000-1250 in just one meal.
125 full of carbs . Which means that you will still get fat . PLus this is bad quality food which would make you fat and unhealthy anyways . Lastly IFYM is just a joke and doesnt work . If you want to be fat then continue eating donuts
10 minutes to make
10 minutes to bake
0.00000001 secs to eat
Love this comment!

About an hour or half hour to burn just one :)

I MADE THIS TODAY AND IT WAS SUPER DELICIOUS! Even my family members who don't care about health liked it!! Thank you for this awesome recipe. The only difference I did is that I added baking powder along with the baking soda.
Hi! Thanks so much for making these and sharing with your family! That's what happens here all the time, people who don't really put an effort to eat healthier, enjoy these recipes and ask for more.
Another perfect recipe! I've just made them, but instead of donut shape I used the one for muffins/cupcakes - just took 5 min longer baking. Easy, delicious and healthy!
Hi Ivanina! Thanks for your awesome feedback! Great to hear these worked out as muffins too!
Yes yes! They are delicious! My 3&5 yo love them! For the glazing, mixed the chocolate with PB since the cacao was super strong and needed to be much more sweeter for my LOs! We loved them! Ty

I like how honest you are about how they actually taste!!
Hi Maddie! Thanks for stopping by! Yeah, these are pretty good.
Always love your recipes. I made these tonight for me and the Mrs. but with a twist. Well, vegan. I used Silk almond milk yogurt, 3 tablespoons of prepared coffee to soak 1 Tbl of chia seeds and 1 Tbl of ground flax seed in place of the egg, plus 1 Tbl of Egg Substitute and 2 Tbl of water. And in place of the cocoa powder I used 1/3 cup of vanilla flavored Kachava but also added 1 Tbl of cocoa powder. No icing just ate them plain. Delicious

How to make any dessert healthy: use oats instead of flour
yuh
there's whole grain flours too, you know
Almond fluor casava flour are other option

Oh my god! This is the first time I’ve baked with oats and actually liked it, no oat-y smell! Usually I can only stomach oats if I make it with masala and turmeric.Thank you for this great recipe!

This would be awesome with a choc orange flavour glaze too. Can't wait to try!!!
Hi! I totally agree with you, chocolate and orange are one of my favorite combos too!
ooo agreed!
Hi !!!how to make chocolate orange flavour glaze?
Made these this morning and they were amazing. Didn't have a donut pan but made them into 12 cupcakes and baked for around 20 minutes. Also, sprinkled some dark chocolate chips on top before baking and substituted honey for golden syrup as I ran out of honey. Just delicious! Definitely making them again once I get a donut pan. Thank you so much for the amazing healthy recipe.

shubhangi Chavanpatil how sweet were they? Like medium sweet or barley sweet?
I expect them to taste like chocolate cake
Some stuff I learned as a beginner: don’t use almond flour. Aluminum foil for donut centers doesn’t work bc if they’re too light, they don’t stick to the bottom of the pan. Use a bottle cap or small cookie cutter to make the holes. Measure the coconut oil extra carefully bc it comes off strong. (less is better than more.) By the stars, don’t bake the donuts for more than 10 minutes. They cook incredibly fast, so don’t multitask beyond washing dishes. If your oven tends to be too hot, decrease 350F to 325F. Thanks for the recipe! My finished donuts are Frankenstein muffins, though.
I love looking for baking alternatives. I do it all the time. Practice practice

Made these last night for the whole family. They were so sad because they wish I made more. This taste like the best cake chocolate donut you will eat in your life. My oldest which is picky didn’t even know it was made from all whole and fresh ingredients. He thought for sure I had sugar, butter and dairy in it. I used almond milk instead of yogurt. Came out perfect. I used the leftover frosting to make cayenne and pumpkin seed chocolate. It was so delicious 😋 not wasting chocolate 🍫

Hi Linda! Yes, you're correct, you should correct the amount of dry ingredients in that case.

Made these.. they were alright but overall I’d give it a 5/10 they turned out crumbly
Hi! Thanks for trying it out!
I find I need to grind the oats a _lot_ more than I thought (they really need to be powdered) and add more sweetener than he called for.
they also need like 20 mins in the oven instead of 8-10. it's a recipe that has potential, but clearly needs more work. using gramms for everything would be step 1. only amateurs use cups and shit like that.

Omfgno, a doughnut and a cake are different, if theyre not fried theyre not doughnuts, whats in the video is made the same way as a cake, the appearance IS similar to a doughnut because of the size and the hole, but the taste wont be
@@anonymous2858 would you say that fries made in oven and fries made in a deep fryer are not the same dish?
Well, I just made these donuts and I have good news and not so good news. The good news is that they really are delicious. Very chocolatey, soft, fluffy and moist. Are used coconut yogurt, which is thinner than regular yogurt, and that might have made you’re doing it’s softer and a bit more delicate. I didn’t mind that. I also love that the ingredients are all what I would eat anyway on a healthy diet. I’m impressed with just how much like a regular donut they taste, and not too sweet. What I did not like and did not expect is just how messy the preparation was. With few ingredients and a short baking time, I expected this to be an easy process, but it wasn’t. I don’t have the pastry bags for piping the batter, and maybe that would have made it easier. The batter is very sticky. I tried putting it into a Ziploc plastic bag as you suggested. Maybe I used a bag that was too large, but it was too difficult for me to squeeze it out into the pan. I ended up spooning it into the pan, but it was very time-consuming and messy.
I would welcome any other suggestions you might have, as this really is a delicious recipe. Oh, and I found that the glaze, being very thin, soaked into the donut. I then added a bit of cornstarch to thicken the glaze, and that did make it better.
These donuts are so tasty and chocolaty 😍 Just tried it, definitely going to make them again🤤🤤
