    Here's what you'll learn in today's video:
First, I'll show you how to make healthy oatmeal cookies, using only 3 simple ingredients.
Next, you'll see how to use different kind of oats for this same recipe. Here I'm using old-fashioned oats, quick oats, and combination of old-fashioned oats, quick oats and ground oats.
For these healthy cookies besides bananas and oats I use raisins, but you can feel free to replace raisins with chocolate chips, chopped walnuts or almonds, or different dried fruits.
Banana oatmeal cookies are perfect for school lunchboxes and as a healthy snack for your kids.
    3-INGREDIENT BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES
    Ingredients:
    2 ripe bananas
1.5 cups old-fashioned oats (or quick oats) (135g)
    1/3 cup raisins (50g)
    Preparation:
In a bowl, mash the bananas using a fork, add oats and mix well until combined. If the mixture is too wet (which depends on the size of the bananas), add some more oats.
Add the raisins and give a final mix.
Scoop about 2 tablespoons of cookie mixture and spread on a lined baking sheet. Spread the mixture and using your hands form into a cookie shape.
For medium sized cookies bake for 12 minutes at 350 degrees. If making small cookies bake for 9 minutes, and for larger size cookies bake for 15-20 minutes.
When baked transfer to a wire rack to cool for 5 minutes, and they're ready to dig in.
Cool completely before storing in the box.
    Enjoy!

@@mahadfarah5298 You are really killing the nutrition once a cookie is cooked crispy. Just defeats the purpose of using more expensive healthy ingredients, other than just lying to yourself mentally into believing "I am eating healthy."

I just made a batch. Yum! I modified with additional ingredients. I didn’t have enough banana so I added unsweetened apple sauce and added 1 Tbl tapioca, a sprinkle of chia seeds and 1 large Tbl ground flax seed to make the batter tacky but not wet. I also added dried unsweetened blueberries and cranberries. Baked 20 minutes. They are perfect and taste great.

Bananas are a great natural sweetener. And if you first peel, freeze and thaw them, that will make them release their sugar and become sweeter. They will also become very limp and easier to work with. But keep in mind that oats, like wheat, are sprayed with Roundup weedkiller in the fields. So you might want to buy organic oats if you can find them in a nearby health food store. Some peanut butter and/or tahini and ground flax seed would be other good additions to these bars.

These cookies actually looks pretty good. I like the soft and chewy texture of this. The bananas sweetens it while the oats hold it together. The raisins are a nice touch, add sweetness and yea more texture. Great recipe... did you family love it? I might give this a try but using nuts instead of raisins since I don't have any at home. Thanks for sharing! 👍LIKE #5

Hi, thanks for commenting, I appreciate your words of support! My son actually didn't like the cookies, because he doesn't like banana in any baked goods. But the rest of the family really enjoyed these cookies. Sure, you can give it a try with nuts instead of raisins, but make sure you use very ripe bananas, you might be missing the sweetness from the raisins.

Look good. I don't have any bananas right now, but I plan to add a little cinnamon & walnuts. I'll let you know how they turn out.

These are great and I only need 3 ingredients. Do I have to use parchment paper though? I am trying to reduce my waste, so was wondering if I could use a round, non stick silicon cake tin.

Just went to make these and realized I only had 1 banana, not 2. Rather than halve the recipe, I substituted 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce. I added some dried, unsweetened cranberries, some mini chocolate chips, cinnamon, and a scoop of unflavored whey protein powder. They came out tasty, chewy, and just enough sweet to satisfy a cookie craving! They did, however, stick to the parchment paper, but I was able to scrape them off intact with a thin spatula. Likely the combination of ingredients I used that caused that to happen, but not a huge deal.
    Healthy and satisfying! 😁♥️

How have I only just found your channel! Love your recipes. Would this work with apple sauce (no sugar) as well?

    • @HowToCookSmarter
      @HowToCookSmarter  4 года назад +4

Thanks man! Most of the times I make my cookies using applesauce, but with the addition of honey or maple syrup for sweetness. If you're ok with having a little bit less sweet cookies, than you''ll be fine with applesauce and raisins.
