This has become my favorite granola recipe after making a few adjustments. I typically make half of this recipe at a time. For the dry ingredients: 2 cups of oats, a quarter cup of ground flax seed, a quarter cup of pumpkin seeds, and a pinch of salt. For the wet ingredients I use a quarter cup of zero sugar maple syrup, two tablespoons of applesauce, and two tablespoons of peanut butter as I can't get the crunch I want without a little bit of fat. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes and spread it in a thin layer on the baking sheet so it gets as crispy as possible. After the bake I like to mix in a quarter cup of dried cranberries because they get too hard when I bake them with the rest of the ingredients.
The whole recipe comes out to 1300 calories (no added sugar! 52 grams of protein!) and I get 4 servings out of it. I love the recipe but I crave granola for the crunch and without the PB it comes out pretty chewy. Fortunately the PB works just as well as coconut oil and it adds a little protein. I love it in a bowl with some protein powder and milk! Thanks for the blueprint!

Thank you! This recipe is really underrated considering how cheap it is to make, especially if you're able to buy oats, nuts, and seeds in bulk. I made it last night and I'm enjoying it with my coffee as I write this. One small tip: you might need to experiment a bit with the baking method depending on your ingredients & setup. Mine didn't come out as crunchy as I would like (flavor is still great!), so I'll try spreading it into a larger baking pan next time. I don't mind if it's a bit crumbly as I'll mostly be eating it in a bowl with Greek yogurt.

This is a good lighter recipe and helpful video, thank you. It did not fully crisp up for me, however, I’m guessing due to the lack of oil. The oat clumps have some give and flex to them.

This is a great recipe. Tyfs. I'll make it soon. I do find store bought ones are too sweet and expensive and you really dk what else is in there.

Hvala Dejane! Upravo tako, može za doručak, a prolazi i kao slatkiš poslije ručka.

Sorry, I made this today with applesauce, just as you made it and I found it to be not at all sweet and not crunchy. I’m going to have to rebake it tomorrow with some additions to save all my ingredients. I make granola all the time but wanted to try yours because of the applesauce. 👍 I’ll keep trying other recipes. I love your videos and your recipes look amazing. I don’t know why this one didn’t work for me. I made the dark chocolate with nuts and it’s great! 👍Thanks for healthy alternatives! 😊

I will try your suggestion of using apple sauce instead of oil. Any other substitutes? I also will try beaten eggwhite instead of honey for a more granola bar effect. Thank you for sharing.
