His tactics yesterday were appalling. Australia play narrow and pack the middle so england did the same. No pace or width. Just players passing it to each other in a packed midfield.

As a Belgian, this is giving me a deja-vu because Englands FA are making the same mistake as the Belgian FA did years ago with keeping Roberto Martinez. Belgium had its best group of players in decades being led by a mediocre manager.

Gareth Southgate has mastered gas lighting to a tee. He knows exactly why people are booing and are getting frustrated at his squad selections, but he's managed to obtain one hell of an ego in the last few years. There are a number of players he should choose based on recent performances...Nick Pope, James Ward-Prowse, Solly March, Ben White to name a few. Pickford is lucky to still be a premier league goalkeeper and hasn't been good for a couple of seasons, yet he's the first name of the team sheet in competitive games, while you have 2 goalkeepers who helped get their teams into the top 4 last season, and one of them can't even get in the squad. It's crazy.

Gareth is scared to drop players like Maguire and Henderson because he knows they understand their roles for England and support Gareth. If he chose new, exciting snd deserved players, theres a risk of it going wrong and falling onto Gareth's head.
