I watched a lot of tutorials, but I probably learned the most by watching After Effects tutorials and recreating them in Fusion. That taught me good VFX techniques, but it also helped me learn the nodes and memorize what they do.
I usually watch tutorials about a topic, independent of software, to understand the logic behind a given effect. Then try to find the components in DR to recreate this.
You could totally do that! I would suggest shooting your person on a green screen (you need a matte of them) and plug that into the particle emitter and set the region to bitmap. That way, the particles will emit from the shape of your person. You might need to tweak some of the other tools to refine the look. I did something similar for the first shot of the cup glowing in the short film (except I masked it out ).
Ah yes. I've thought about it, but there are already some good tutorials out there for lightsabers in Davinci. If I were to make one, it would probably be an overview of the different techniques.
Ah. I should have clarified. The pre rendered effect in the description is loopable. But you can make this one loopable! Basically (after you've rendered it), just cut it somewhere in the middle, then take the first half and move it over so that the beginning slightly overlaps the second half, then cross fade that.
Hmmm... The abstraction gives it most of the "fire" look. If you can't get that to work, maybe try using a displace driven by a fastnoise. It won't have as much detail, but it should work in a pinch.
When I drag the fusion composition into the timeline, it keeps going black at random times even though it has fully rendered into the timeline. Any help???
I followed your Tutorial and started with a 1080p composition, but i decided to change to 4K do i have to change some parameters in the comp ? the glowing core is not visible in 4K ? in 1080p everything is fine
I have noticed that the larger the effect is, the less visible the core is. I would try playing with the Brightness/Contrast to make it brighter. If that doesn't work, maybe try making the particle emitter smaller.
Lip smacking is really annoying. Yes it's hard to control but remembering you do it and practice in controlling it, eventually it stops. Been there, done that - :}
Why did you publish this the all the errors? Your right clicks don't show up in the video and you don't refer to the tools in Resolve with the correct terms. It would be good to clean up your channel with a redo so you can be taken more seriously if you're looking for work. First work or last your online portfolio reflects on you.
Yeah, I hadn't figured out the settings for my screen recorder when I made this. I might look into doing a redo (or a similar effect). Thanks for the feedback!
new follower for lifetime just for this useful and instructive tutorial😍😍
Really impressed on how you know all these nodes and how they relate. Do you have tips for learning them?

Banging tutorial bro. I’m always looking to improve my VFX game in fusion. Definitely going to study your channel for inspiration. Thanks a lot 👊🏼
Id love to see this applied around someone like an Aura....!! Awesome

Love the (More you know) Good one!!
Great. Thank you
Few channels are positioned to use DaVinci to produce VFX. optimistic about this channel.
This is suuuuuuuuuuuper cool. How did you learn how to do all this?
Thanks! I watched alot of tutorials, then started playing around with Fusion on my own.
Nice, looking for a new star wars lightsaber effect ;-)

Really nice tutorial, thanks :)
You mentioned the effect was loopable, what makes it loop? and how do you know at what time it will start to loop?

@@NomadRProductions Ah... cool.
I thought there was some magic to making the effect loopable in Fusion. :)
Thanks for the reply :)
How about a tutorial of an energy beam being deflected by a force field, or two energy beams colliding?
Question, my abstraction node never rends, can i use another one to make it look similar?
Hmmm... The abstraction gives it most of the "fire" look. If you can't get that to work, maybe try using a displace driven by a fastnoise. It won't have as much detail, but it should work in a pinch.

Bro I couldn't find the abstraction effect . How did you get that?
What this version of DaVinci resolve?
I was using 16 at the time, but it should work in 17 too.
Very good ! There is no a tintensity Effect in my Davinci Resolve. How do i do?
Thanks! Tintensity is a plugin, so it doesn't come with Davinci Resolve. You can download it for free here: davidkohen.gumroad.com/l/Tintensity
@@NomadRProductions plz let me know how to download already i followed
I think you could be the Fusion version of Andrew Kramer (without his dad jokes) By god we need one.
Wow! I guess no pressure or anything. (Discreetly removes all the dad jokes from my next video).
@@NomadRProductions 😂😂😂😂. I think you should be a guest on the next Resolvecon with Faris and the crew.
cooool
What is the app or program you used to edit it
Davinci Resolve. You can find a free version (the version I use) at www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/
if i coud ony give it another 100 likes I would

Love the tutorial... The tongue clicking kills me though man.
Glad you liked it! Sorry about the tongue clicking. I'll try not to do that so much in future tutorials.
